There are no words to come to mind other than "mediocre." The one asset this establishment has, however, is its geographic location and lack of ANY competition with many miles. I cannot speak for the activities that take place on the outdoor patios and volleyball courts. I am strictly reviewing the food. The kitchen is extremely small and creepy looking. Im not sure how they are able to produce the wide array of menu items in a kitchen that size. This leads me to believe that many of the menu items are just frozen or pre-prepared... everything we ate definitely backed that thought up. The fried fish I had (walleye) was barely edible... I could have gone to my local grocery store and bought a box of frozen fish for a third of the price... The chicken quesadillas were somewhat decent (kind of hard to screw this one up). The chicken Caesar salad had dried up salty chicken that would not have passed muster with my cats. If you are looking for food, I STRONGLY suggest looking elsewhere. If you are looking for somewhere to drink and enjoy the outdoor amenities Im guessing its worth the trip. As for my wife and I, we wont be visiting again.

The first 2 times I came, the food was edible after having had to send it back because the waitress (or cook) got the order wrong on 2 of the 4 dinners we ordered. The past 4 times I have come for my friends volleyball game, the waitresses (3 different ones), walked past our table for 4 hours and NEVER ONCE asked if we wanted anything. But I was able to get a beer when I went to the bar. Of course that was after about 5 minutes because the bartender was eating. And of course never asked if I wanted a menu. Well, I guess they didnt need any of our money. 4-5 people with no food or drinks for 3-4 hours for the past 4 weeks. I wonder if the owner(s) can do the math on that.

Came here to celebrate my sons birthday after a baseball game. Had made early arrangements, seemed a little disjointed. Food was good, we had pizza and wings, and everyone enjoyed the food. Service was not bad but nothing that I would say went above and beyond, but again, its a bar and it met expectations - nothing that was really negative, but wouldnt say there was anything that made it stand out.

I love this place. The atmosphere is really down to earth and friendly. The food is great. It is right down the street from one of my offices in Gurnee and whenever I want to just stop by the staff is always very friendly and accommodating. There is an outside bar and sand volleyball courts as well to enjoy the nice weather. I highly recommend Fatmans!

Went on Saturday during a Cubs game. Never been before and while waiting for the check noticed a flyer for half price pizza during Cubs and Bears games. Before I signed my check I asked the waiter about this and he asked the manager and told me that was last years promotion. It is July. Liars. Dont visit crooked places like this.

This place is great! I love the pizza and wings here. I come here because they have NFL Ticket and I am able to watch the football games I cannot get at home. The bar has ample seating with plenty of TVs to watch your favorite team. I had a great time last Sunday and am looking forward to watching football here all season.

Waitress was nice. Food seemed like it was your typical frozen Sysco type food "aka" school cafeteria food. Feel like the reviews here reflect either friends of the owner, people who go for the volleyball, or perhaps the place changed ownership. Not very clean. Maybe we will see this place on Restaurant Impossible...

Great place to hang out! Everyone from the top to bottom has always been very friendly . The food is excellent, very good daily specials and very reasonably priced. This is definitely the place to go for any occasion! Even if its just getting away for a minute to catch a game.

I really enjoyed myself at Fatmans. The food was fantastic with a wide variety of menu items. The staff was attentive and friendly. It was a great place to spend the evening and have some drinks. I cant wait to return and have more of their great pizza!!

Helpful tip: enter around back by the volleyball courts for the restaurant section, the front entrance is a bar entrance. Been back a few times since (restaurant, not bar), never had to wait for a table, food is always great, and comes out fast.

Great Food, Great Environment. Family friendly during the day, local bar atmosphere at night. Volleyball tournaments in the summer for those who are sporty. Ranch is made in home and one of the best! Try the Brisket Grilled Cheese, its amazing!

I LOVE this place! Great place to go on the weekends. Very friendly staff, good food, and great entertainment. I havent played in their volleyball league, but it looks like a ton of fun. I will definitely be joining a team next season.

It was a fun place it had sand volleyball, slots, and a DJ. The food was good I ordered breaded mushrooms and a Pizza. Their drinks were good as well! Our waitress was ehh could of been. A lot better!

Food was good and service was even better. We got a 16 inch pan pizza and it was the perfect size for a group of 4. They have outdoor seating and sand volleyball courts. Would definitely come back.

Great Pizza & Great Wings. As far as drinks are concerned, how can you complain about a menu exclusively dedicated to Long Islands?! I personally recommend the Breaded Mushrooms & the Fish Tacos.

Music was good. The kitchen was closed at 12:30 when we got there and there appeared to be 1 bartender and my drink was $7 which i felt was high. We made our own fun but probably wont be back.

Sunday Morning breakfast - service was great but the food was pretty terrible and the coffee was undrinkable. The Bloody Mary was quite average - rather bland with watery tomato juice.

Many sections have TVs for every table. Quite spacious bar and great food. Beer selection is wonderful as well. I just wish they had a few other beers like a good ol pitcher of Tecate

Used to be good after work stop. Nothing but snobish yuppies now. Worst bartenders ever, would be quicker to brew own beer than get a drink here

Good small bar to visit at night. A lot of locals. Bartenders are able to serve you in less than 5 mins. Live DJ. All good stuff all around.
