We went to Sobelmans to get the best burger in Milwaukee during the lunch rush and barely got a table. The atmosphere was a good classic bar feel. Sat down and ordered the hangover burger right away - hold the onions and my friend just got the wonton wrapped mozzarella sticks with his burger. The sticks came up first, and they looked great. Sadly it seems like they dont really clear out their deep fryer as they tasted like fish. And only of fish. The burger showed up about 10 minutes later, covered in fried onions, so I sent it back. It returned a few minutes later, no onions, but looking mysteriously the same. It appeared to be all the same burger, and tasted as it was still covered in onions. They apparently didnt do a very good job of just wiping off the onions. As onions are not my preference, the burger was pretty gross and the fact they just wiped them away, along with the "fish" sticks got me thinking of all the other lovely kitchen practices they must have. Bluh. Maybe it was all the hype I had heard, but this just did not meet any of my expectations. Im sure there is good food and experience there for some, but I got none of that when we went.

Authentic Milwaukee. Where else can you go at 10:00AM on a Sunday and the have the greeter state that youre "here for burgers." "Right"? Of course were here for burgers....I guess. So two cheese loaded burger bombs it was. Oh, Bloody Marys too. And, wow....interesting. The actual "bloody" part was pretty darn good. The garnish was preposterous - scallions, celery, olives, sausage and cheese, and some other greenery. I wasnt sure what was even in there the forest was so dense - but at least I didnt get the burger slider topped Blood Mary. Seriously though, the burger was really good, the service was quick, the prices were fair, and the atmosphere was quaint and fun. My only real objection were the fries which I think were probably some bagged frozen variety. Not impressed with them. But, if youre in Milwaukee and want a good ol midestern burger Sobelmans is your place!

I dont know what happen to there burgers but they surely are not the same. Me and my friend a least twice a week would go get the Sobelmans burger and at that time oh my god they were so good... I mean so so so good, by far the best burger in town and fast forward to today and its like what happen. the burger is dry the cheese doesnt run off like it use to its just real flat, cant taste the bacon no flavor. I know i sound real hard but when you experience the old sobelmans burger and this new burger have nice cold beer on hot summer day and then drinking hot tar on a hot summer day thats how big the difference is. I know they changed there cook and im sure that has all to do with it... I took my kids there today and im pretty sure that will be the last time i visit Sobelmans...

Sobelmans is a destination if youre in Milwaukee. The burgers are juicy and the Bloody Marys are delicious as well as bountiful. Save room for both. We went for Mothers Day because my mom loves a good burger and she was not disappointed. I had a melt and everyone else had various burgers that they couldnt say enough about. My dad even liked The Bomb so much he didnt even use ketchup or mustard on it. I wanted to go here for the Bloody Marys and I was happy I did. They are great tasting and have all the accoutrements like bacon wrapped cheese curds, cheese wedges or even a whole fried chicken. Whatever your taste is. I cant forget the customary, Wisconsin, beer shooter on the side or root beer shooter if you get a virgin. I cant go wait to back.

There is a very diverse crowd at Sobelmans, from the adipose to the zaftig, they are all there: the heavyset were represented, as were the husky, even the merely paunchy like myself get their burgers at Sobelmans. If a sushi bar is well-populated with Japanese, you can tell youll get an authentic product. Likewise, the corpulence of the Sobelmans crowd weighs in on its qualities as a burger bar. It wasnt too busy, so I asked for my fries crisp and got them crisp. I asked for extra pickles and got those too. My waitress was friendly. There was a beer special, $2 Sam Adams on Sunday. What a good hamburger experience.

Ive heard of this place for a long time, but never made the time to stop in. Today I finally did. The food was great and served quickly even though it was busy. The beer was one of the coldest I ever had. The waitstaff checked in, but didnt hover. Everyone was very welcoming and treated us like we were long time customers. On the way out I thanked the owner for a fine burger. I told him this was our first time in and he seemed genuinely appreciative we gave his place a chance. He even ran out after us to give us a Christmas card that offered a free fish fry. We will certainly be back.

One of the best burger restaurants in MKE. Hangover Burger is delicious and a great price. This place is sometimes packed to the gills (45min wait), sometimes you can get seated right away no problem... really doesnt seem to be any pattern to it. Anyways, service is good, burgers are tasty, beers are nice. Tried the bloody masterpiece, wouldnt order it again. The bloody mary mix used tasted bad (like watered down V8 juice, no spices or flavorings) and vodka was also cheap. The toppings were decent but the slider had no seasoning was lukewarm & whole thing costed too much. Stick with beer here.

There waiting list does Not work. I put my name down, was told it would be 30 minutes so we waited outside because it was so packed. After 45 minutes and still not being seated, the hostes tells us he called our name after 10 minutes (which apparently consisted of him shouting out names which No one heard because 2 other parties missed their names as well). They need a buzzer system like every other restaurant because its ridiculous when its packed. The inside is extremely crammed (you are literally 2 feet away from the tables around you). The food is good but definitely overrated holy cow.

My friend and I traveled from Chicago because of high recommendations for the Bloody Marys , however, we were way less than satisfied with our experience. We waited longer for our table than the quoted time they gave us. Our waitress took forever and only checked up on us once during the whole hour and a half we were sitting at our table. I was given the wrong Bloody Mary. And to top it all off, my friend got FOOD POISONING!!! We didnt eat anything all day so we wouldnt spoil our appetites so were sure it was from here. Wouldnt recommend to anyone.

I really wanted to like this place after hearing about it for so long... But I just didnt. The food was bad, I mean I didnt eat much of my order. The burger was supposed to have fries onions on it... Nope it had chopped white onions. The jalapenos were pickled and dumped on train burger which made it soggy... The fries were also cold when try got to the table. Even my friends who got the bloodys.. were disappointed. Wont be back, avoid unless you want to be temporarily impressed by what they put on top of their drinks.
