I have been a regular a draft picks for well over a year now and have found them to be excellent service friendly staff and excellent food at a good price however the music on Wednesdays and Thursdays is horrible its like B 96 beatbox music and somebody there thinks prince and Michael Jackson are the only music on the jukebox so it plays whole albums of those two every time youre there which gets real old and ridiculous. Now recently although the website shows half off appetizers they have changed their menu and no longer offer the half off appetizers after 9 oclock but rather charge full price and they have substituted half a pizza which is a OK but it aint great Apparently some people are coming in and ordering half off appetizers and water instead of buying beer. To me I dont know why the management didnt just place a two drink minimum on the half off and tell people that we dont do takeout orders at half off and call it a day instead they ruined it for everybody. Are used to go here 5 to 7 times a month easy and drop about 100 bucks every time I will now go to the Beacon when they open in the fall and I will go to taphouse especially since its closer to my house and I dont have to worry about the Mount Prospect cops trying to get you for a DUI. Real bad move Spiro. I wish you luck but I think you just lost 25% of your business

Well waited long enough to try the new game in town. Oh my God. If i had known then what i know now. I would have enjoyed many meals there by now. After being dissapointed by Jamesons yet again earlier in the week, we were so impressed with how courteous and helpfull the waitress and hostess were. The waitress knew the menu well and made confident suggestions. Our shrimp appetizer was incredible. The baked french onion was not only delicious it was made Properly!! We were not rushed between courses yet we werent sitting around waiting either.all the while the waitress not only kept checking on us but kept letting us know when next çourse was coming. The main courses came....bbq ribs and chicken. And Surf and Turf. I cannot begin to say enough about how amazing and delicious and perfectly prepared they were!!! Hats off to the chefs!! I will say whens the last time you got a buttery smooth medium cooked fillet that you could cut with the side of your fork...no knife needed?? !!!! Overall on a scale of 1-10 Black Cow gets a !0+ on Pricepoint they get A 12!!!! Kudos to the Black Cow...we will be back...often!!! Ps. They have a party room as well and they also have some carryout items as well as catering. Brian Rowe Owner 3 Boyz Plowing Des Plaines

Overpriced considering quality, below average food. Ribeye steak cut too thin, overcooked, topped with soggy onion rings, side of plain veggies - three slices of carrots and a piece of steamed broccoli (cost them less than a quarter), mashed potatoes rather tasteless but edible. My kids LOVE mashed potatoes, but didnt eat theirs( tip to the chef, use good potatoes, salt, pepper, garlic, butter and sour cream, its not complicated). My fathers ribs were dry. My wifes filet was tiny and breaded shrimps were awful. I dont wanna give Costco or any other grocer a bad name, but those shrimps were definitely store bought, frozen. I dont wanna be a downer, but there really isnt anything to rave about ( wait, their ranch dressing was good). Maybe their fire roasted chicken is good, but I wont be back to try. Im so mad Outback had a long wait :( havent been there in a long time, but maybe theyd be better.

I really had high hopes for this place, and have given it a few chances. But the owner (tall guy) is pompous and rude to not only his staff (which I have witnessed numerous times), but to customers also. TERRIBLE attitude and arrogant!! These reviews are almost funny welcoming?! Maybe you are a good friend of his...knows? Its almost as if like he thinks he did our neighborhood a favor by opening this bar. On a couple of occasions we have asked him to change the channel, and he refused for a game we wanted to watch and was beyond rude not to mention the food is awful. There are far better places in the surrounding area, dont waste your time. Furthermore, if you are going to call yourself "Draft Picks" make sure you actually have a decent variety of draft beers to pick from! Bar Louie & Emersons Ale House in Mount Prospect has a much better selection.

Atmosphere is good. Music was a little loud and it did not go with the crowd that was in there. Ordered two drinks, my beer was nice but my husbands drink was hot... not warm... or room temp... it was hot. Ordered potatoe skins, fried pickle spears, and cheseburger sliders. Potatoe skins were nothing too special, VERY plain. Pickles were good, breading had a good flavor. Cheseburger sliders had no flavor, kinda had to put some salt and pepper yourself. Also, was maybe sitting to the owners table? not sure, but it seemed like it (had a shirt with the Draft Picks Logo and drinking all night) and felt a little uncomfortable because some girls that would pass by to the bathroom they kept saying inappropriate comments, and as a woman, well its just uncomfortable. Will most likely not be going back.

Its all about the meat. The meats were good and juicy. Now, the salads and vegetables left a lot to be desired. Salad was nothing special, did not even look fresh cut, and the dressing just like the stuff that would come out of a bottle. The vegetables were boiled with nothing on them, TV dinner-like. I expected more hand crafted meals and better presentation, from the prices on the menu. Service was poor, our waitress sounded out of breath and overworked, she never really stopped by our table she mostly walked by even when she took our order. I would go back just for the meats. I have been to places way busier, with similar quality meats, much better sides, larger portions, for about half the price on everything. Look up Hickory Park in Ames.

BEST place to watch the Chicago Blackhawks playoff games--they put EVERY TV to the game and only play music they play at the United Center. Goals are celebrated with the trademark ship horn and rolling red lights while Chelsea Dagger plays. Sit outside before a game and watch how many wearing Hawks jerseys attend, and you can see it is a gathering place for true fans. Food is passable--you want fine dining there are other restaurants--but they have a pretty wide beer selection and the owner is engaged and tries to correct anything that doesnt go smoothly, when he can. He recognized our group of 6 after a couple games where the house was packed--impressive to me. For Blackhawks games, there is no better place.

After reading other reviews, I was somewhat regretting that I booked lunch for 6 at the Black Cow. However, our experience was most positive. As stated above the food, service and value were most positive. The average price above includes cocktails. I had the specialty wood burn chicken and it was quite good. The others had a variety of things and all were pleased. The prices were quite reasonable. Our waitress was Marlene and she was both pleasant and efficient. We are a group of 6 former co-workers who have lunch 3 or 4 times a year and used to eat at the old Artamis. This compares favorably.
