I have been going to the Loading Dock for several years . It has been my destination while on Motorcycle rides. I have even rated it a 5 out o 5 on Goolge, HOWEVER, something happened recently that made me "review my review". The last few times I have been there, the service has not been the best. The prices are inflated, but I overlooked that because the food is very good. But the last time I went ( two weeks ago), I took friends and my family with me. The service was terrible. It took 30 minutes for our arrogant waitress to even take our drink order and when she did, My 9 year old daughter ordered a sprite and when the waitress came back with the drinks ( 20 minutes later) my daughter took a big drink and started to gag. The waitress served my 9 year old a Vodka and Tonic ! I frantically tried to find our waitress to tell her of the mistake and she was M.I.A. so I pulled another waitress aside and told her. 15 minutes later, our original waitress came to our table, put a fresh sprite down and said this only..." This one does not have Vodka in it" and walked away. No " I apologize", No anything. On the way home, I was so furious that I called the bar and spoke to the manager. When I told him what had happened, He apologized and said that he was not even notified that this happened. Even though this was an honest mistake ( I hope). It is ILLEGAL for them to serve alcohol to a minor . She could have been seriously affected by this . The management staff SHOULD have been notified by this incompetent witch waitress. Sadly, I will not return to the Loading Dock. The staff is not friendly, and they certainly do not care about us, the consumers. I advertised this establishment in my Real Estate Business and have brought a great number of people there. This will not happen to me or any of my clients again. Thank you for the great memories Loading Dock !

Bad food, very high price. With such a wonderful view and atmosphere I really wanted to like this place, very disappointed! We started off with the Nachos, for $12 they came in a cardboard hot dog carton about the size a small child could eat. The catfish was only a few small bites of fish not that it mattered as it was so rubbery and bad tasting you wouldnt want to eat more than that anyhow. The turkey burger was very small (Think dollar menu and McDonalds) it was however pretty good as was the service. $55 is pretty steep for sub-size portions of sub quality food that didnt even fill us up.

My boyfriend and I went to Grafton for the weekend and this was our first stop after checking into our hotel and eating supper. We sat a table near the river and the scenery was awesome. There was a band, which wasnt anything to write home about, but it kept us entertained anyway. We are "people watchers" and there was plenty of people to watch, which also kept us entertained. Our waitress, Rachel, was awesome!! Very sweet, down to earth girl and kept the drinks coming. We didnt eat here, but the food looked good so I chose "good" for the food category when reviewing.

First and foremost, The Loading Dock is a bar. The food takes a back seat and is just typical bar food in my opinion. I had the white fish sandwich, and my bread was soggy and the fish had no flavor, and slaw that comes with was bland. Two other people in my party got the BBQ pork, and it looked like it was typical foodservice quality. In addition, there are no free drink refills for fountain drinks or tea. Theres a nice view of the river, but thats about the only thing good about this place, unless youre looking for a bar.

Go for the drinks not for the food! Bar was great but the food service was horrendous! We waited over an hour after ordering from the quick service style counter. We werent warned of any wait when we placed the order. When we inquired, we were told long waits for food is "normal there"... Apparently we had to read minds. The manager did apologize after she realized her staff was not informing customers of the wait, but if there are open tables the wait for chicken fingers and a burger shouldnt be over an hour.

The view was awesome. Lawn chairs close to the water for relaxing in. The food generic and over priced, especially non-alcoholic beverages. Not really kid friendly menu. The cheeseburgers were over cooked and the bun on bottom was soggy. Waitress was decent but the skirts and shorts were too short for kids. They did have a kid area for play. Tossing bean sacks into holes and hola hoops. Go super early if you wanna eat right by the water. They fill up quick.

We went to the Loading Dock for a company event last weekend. This was the first time i had been there. There were about 50 of us and they were easily able to accommodate. Service was great. There is a couple sets of corn hole (bags) to play. It was a blast! Food was okay. At the end of the night the owner even came over to thank us for our business. I will definitely be back. Super impressed with this establishment!

Come here for the view and the atmosphere. The deck has a grea view of the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers confluence. It is in the same building as the Grafton Flea Market in the summer and ice skating in the winter. I tried the fish once and didnt care for it. The burgers and fries have always been good. Would recommend coming here! Good vibe!

Great place, fantastic view, fun to drive to. Good food at a very good price. I just love to go this this restaurant and have never had a bad time there. It is great place to take out of town company and they always love the drive up the river road. Friends from out west where rivers are the size of our creeks just go nuts over this place.

Had the cheeseburger and fries and it was not that great. Hopefully the drinks are better than the food. Place is full of little girls ready to work the tip. Looks like a fun atmosphere. I would have been happy with fast food but there isnt anything else in this town but bars. Keep driving to Alton if you just want food.

Outside of things being overpriced (especially beer) and being a little crowded this is usually a fun place. Find a seat, then go up to the counter to order food so that you can tell them where to find you. Otherwise you be waiting a while as they wander around looking for you to deliver your food.

Sitting on the spacious deck overlooking the traffic on the Ole Mississippi is a comforting place to be. The atmosphere is relaxed and the employees are friendly. Have a board game with family and enjoy a good dinner. Bring binoculars to see nature across the river!
