The Yelp reviews do not line up with the Google reviews. In my experience, the Yelpers got it right. This has to be the absolute worst dining experience Ive had in my life. When we arrived, there was only one other couple in the restaurant. As we looked at our menus, another party of 3 arrived. As we ordered, one more couple arrived. I only point this out to show that they were not busy. I asked the waitress for a recommendation. She recommended the fish, angus burger, and pizza. She said the burger was so big that she was full eating one before she even began eating her sides. Great! As it came with 2 sides and they had no childrens menu, I thought it perfect to split with my 5 year old light eater. My husband ordered the catfish sandwich. They had a mediocre beer selection but thats ok. My husband ordered one of their signature drinks that was way too sweet with half melted ice when it arrived. So, he ordered a Knob Creek over ice. It was apparent they had no experienced bartender. We waited for our food. The couple that came in after us was served. That made me perk up but maybe they got something already prepared. We waited longer...30 minutes. Then the people that came as we ordered were served. Therefore, we asked the waitress where our food was. She said they only had one cook. My husband said that shouldnt matter as our order should have been first. She said our order was next. Our food then came. Angus burger? It looked like my high schools cheap processed meat burger. It was not fresh but made from a frozen patty. It was not large, either. The high school cafeteria comparison was valid. The fries looked battered and peppered, which I typically enjoy. My salad did not make it to the table. The catfish was large, though my husband didnt get to taste it. His fries didnt arrive. The owner came to the table and told my husband it took so long to make our food because I ordered a burger. Are you kidding me? The high school burger took 30 minutes? No. He then said it was because of the fish, too. Maybe but the other people that were served before us had fish. As the owner continued to justify their obvious error, wed had enough and announced we were leaving. The owner yelled at my husband, my husband yelled back, and I gathered my purse. I was going to offer to pay for the drinks if the owner stopped yelling but he told us to get out before he called the police. Im guessing I wasnt walking fast enough because he yelled again for me to hurry and get out. I informed him Im in chemotherapy right now and walking as fast as I could. He called us a bunch of expletives and we left. They made an error. Had the owner acknowledged that and offered some sort of compensation, the outcome would have been different. I probably would have ordered something else and given my 5 year old the burger. We were there and hungry. Instead, it was a disaster. Its ok, though. We hopped on over to Florissant to try a new place and had an amazing meal with outstanding customer service.

This was my first and last stay at the Ruebel Hotel. I called around noon on a Saturday and made a last minute reservation, the woman I spoke with was very kind and I thought she explained everything very well to me. She told me I could check in after 3:00 pm, the restaurant closed at 9:00 pm, and the bar was open until the last person left. I was fine with all of this. I arrived in town around 2:00, since I couldnt check in until 3:00 I met up with some friends, who were also staying at the Ruebel, and went to one of the local wineries. We then went to dinner and stopped in a local bar, just next door to the Reubel. Around 11:00 our group went to the hotel for the night, we called the number at the front desk and after a couple minutes a young man (apparently the owners son) came downstairs and said "I will be with you in just one minute, I have to finish my game of Halo" then ran back upstairs. After 15 or 20 minutes he came back and got us checked in. At the time of check in we voiced our dissatisfaction with having to wait for him to finish his video game. He then informed us that we were lucky he waited around for us to check in since 9:00 pm was the latest we could check in. We told him that we made 3 separate reservations and at no point were any of us told we couldnt check in after 9:00. He claimed he tried to call one of us but if anyone has been to Grafton you know that cell reception is practically non-existent, in addition he had at least 2 other phone numbers he could have called. He then said he was going to call the cops on us because we had been drinking. In my opinion this young man needs to be "humbleized" just a little bit. I’ve never witnessed a young man talk to ladies the way he did and I’ve never had to wait for customer service ANYWHERE because someone had to finish a video game.

This place looked really neat when looking for things to do in Grafton so my husband and I decided to stop in for a drink around 7 oclock on a Friday night in October. The place was completely empty and we should have known that was a sign. While sitting in the restaurant we watched the owner (who was holding a glass of wine and it must have been one of many of the evening) provoke a verbal argument with another customer sitting right next to me in the middle of the restaurant. It was very awkward for everyone there so we left without finishing our drinks and will never be back. Many reviews on other social media outlets have complaints about the owner(s) attitude. I put a review on Facebook. My review, and others reviews, were responded to by someone at the Ruebel Hotel. Their response was totally unprofessional and rude which just proves what kind of service they provide to their customers. If you are looking for a place to stay there are many B&Bs around town that would be appreciative of your business.

No one working reception. Bar closed and locked ice cream place closed and locked restaurant closed and locked. Its 4pm we cant check in until 3pm and there are no workers to be found. Finally a kid comes in and says oh yeah I had to go to the owners house for a bit. Seriously why not leave a note for people who made reservations. Then 3 loud women came in while we were trying to check in, talked over us because they were "regulars" and wanted to make sure we werent getting the room they wanted. There was no kindness from the young man who waited on us. We did not get the room we booked on line. The place is nice but a horrible first impression stays with you. We left about 20minutes after we checked in to go find dinner somewhere and all of the lights were out in reception area nothing about who to call if there were any problems. For what the room cost us, this was horrible and we wont stay here again ever.
