I truly believe that everyone here is earnest in trying to serve every patron here with kindness, but the processes here leave a lot to be desired. I came in on a Friday morning for breakfast. I was seated quickly, but service started to slow down from there. I looked around for the waitress until she was able to bring coffee, and then take our orders. We then waited for our food (which were pretty basic breakfast platters) while we saw tables around us get seated, have orders taken (after they had repeatedly flagged the waitress down), and get their food before we did. When the waitress finally brought out the food, it wasnt ours, and after 2 attempts, we finally got the right plates (after about 30 minutes of waiting) The food overall was good -- with the exception of the pork sausage, which tasted like it came out of a can -- nothing special, but the slow service really did it in for me. To clarify, the restaurant had a pretty good crowd in it but was not overly busy. Overall, I dont blame the waitress or the hostess, who were very nice, but what I do blame is the process that the restaurant trains the staff on. I think its not geared towards efficiency, which leaves diners waiting for basic services and in turn becoming angry when they feel theyre being ignored.

As soon as I left to use the bathroom they clearly my table off. I came back from the bathroom shocked that my coffee and silverware were removed so quickly. I had already placed my order before I went to the bathroom. I dont understand why they would clear my table off so quickly and assume I left after a two minute stop to the bathroom. Other tables were not cleared off from the time I got there. It gives the impression that I am not welcomed there. And I honestly feel like they were watching uncomfortably watching. The food was not really good. I am going to stick to Golden Nugget and Original Pancake House. Thier food taste much better. Bot sure what batter they use for thier pancakes and thier eggs , but they taste off. The cheese on the diced potatoes was stale but I didnt want to complain. Ryan was a good server and was very friendly. I still left the waiter a tip because I know thier jobs are hard and they most likely dont make much, but I am not eating here again. The food just taste off.

I placed in order to go today...It was so packed that it was at least a 30 minute wait for food. I didnt have a problem with that because that is a very good sign that the food is good. My only issue is that the table which holds all the utensils and so fourth were covered by people and since this is my first time there I didnt know.. When I called the guy to let him know nothing was placed in my bag he was very rude didnt explain to me that it was self served on utensils and just hung up in the mist of me talking ..To also let him know that my sausage were not well done and still very pink in the middle.

I see all the positive reviews here, Ive only been to this restaurant one time and it will likely be my last. I walked in and placed a breakfast order for take out. On the positive side there was not a long wait, the portion size was surprisingly large, and my order was accurate! I appreciate all of those listed! The negative issue was that my food did not taste good at all, it was a waste of my $13+ dollars. I had a breakfast skillet, french toast, and a side of fruit. The fruit was fresh, not from a can and it was good. Maybe the cook was having a bad day this day, but not on my dollar.

Le Peep is one of my favorite places for a delicious breakfast/brunch. I have been there on multiple occasions and the food has always been excellent. Some of my favorite dishes include the bananas foster pancakes, the belgian waffle, and the breakfast burrito. The waitstaff is very courteous and prices are reasonable. It can get crowded with college students around noontime on the weekends, but because the service is fast, it usually doesnt take too long to get a table. Definitely check it out if youre looking for a tasty (and large) breakfast near the Davis El stop!

I have a gluten (wheat) allergy and since practically every breakfast item came with English muffins, I asked if they could swap the muffin with something else of equal value. Initially the waiter said they could swap with tomatoes but after speaking to the manager stated they would remove the muffin and charge extra for the slice of tomato! It seems like the management would rather lose a customer than accommodate for a food allergy. Disappointing. I decided to go Clarkes instead.

Starting when I was in middle school, it became a tradition for me and my buddies to go to Le Peep every time there was a half day of school. I still go back at least once a month, be it for carry out or dine in, and whenever everyone is home from school we try and make sure to go back. Everyone gets the same thing almost every time, but every once in awhile Ill switch up my order and enjoy it so much that I become a bit conflicted next time Im about to order the usual.

Good food for breakfast. If you want a good home cooked meal this is the place to go. Be aware though that they get quite busy and you can expect to wait around an hour to be seated. Once we were seated we did have quick service with our order. The only down side is like everything around it you will most likely have to pay for parking. It is more frustrating if you dont know what the wait will be when you are paying.

Le Peep is not what it use to be over 15 years ago. I remember working in Evanston and recommending Le Peep to all my customers for breakfast. I happened to be in area and thought why not go back and it was so bad. Its like whoever the cook is does not care about the quality of his food. The place seems a bit outdated. I mean for Evanston they really need to keep up with that burb...

Im a fan, always have been. This place is always packed and no wonder. They focus on breakfast and have all the choices youd expect from a breakfast joint. The food is always rock solid and the prices are what youd expect. Evanston has a real shortage of good breakfast places and its good to know Le Peep is around. Just be prepared to wait on weekends!

It was busy but we were seated within 10 minutes of arriving. Service was very good, especially with how busy it was. The food was.... underwhelming. The waffle was the best part, but nothing really all that special. The egg breakfast was nothing to write home about. I would return and give this another chance and order something different next time!

I DID NOT have a good breakfast experience! My server was just okay, food arrived eggs were cold but GOOD! Pancakes were good and thats what they should stick to. Turkey sausage taste like styrofoam and I did make the suggestion that they try another vendor for turkey sausage!!!! I was so upset that I paid almost $20 for a meal that was yucky!
