First and LAST time coming to this place!!! I attended last night with 8 other ppl for a birthday party. Our server was Danielle and she spilt a Margarita all over the birthday girl. She almost dumped a glass of ice on another person in our party as well. Service was HORRIBLE!! Food was over priced! It took forever for us to get our food and when we did get it, the Food was COLD!! I ordered the (2) Grouper, fries, and dirty rice. My sides came on another persons plate. When I told Danielle about my cold food and incorrect sides, she brought out more, but the fries was barely warm and the dirty rice she brought out was a MUCH smaller portion. She seemed not to be in a good head space and I was not going to send my food back again. At this point, I had had enough so I asked for a to go box and my bill which took forever to get. Regardless of service, I always leave a tip but I feel she got more than she deserved. First impressions are lasting impressions Response to the owner Harry - First I did recognize you as the owner because you said you were. Second no one tipped over the margarita, your manager/server spilt it. Yes, you did offer to get the bill if taken to the cleaners. Who has time to drive to the cleaners and back to your restaurant for you to cover a bill, especially when you dont live close to the restaurant? The time and gas would cost more than the cleaning bill. In fact she almost spilt two other items. So let me guess, that was our fault as well? Third, my sides were NOT hot....luke warm at best! My fish was hot. Its obvious by other comments that your food is not being served as "hot/fresh" as you THINK it is. She may be a good server, just not that day. Fourth, I was not impressed with the food nor the service; therefore, I asked for my bill so I could leave. Whats the point of continuing to send my food back? Lastly, when I go to any establishment and spend MY HARD EARNED MONEY, I expect great...heck EXCELLENT customer service which I and the rest of the group feel we did not receive. As previously stated, I will NOT be returning! I will let everyone know about my horrible experience and the owners blatant disregard of his businesss mediocre service.

I, too, was somewhat disappointed. My wife and I were at the Creve Coeur location once, and thought it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten..so we were really looking forward to Eville, as it is much closer. First, the good stuff..I really liked the atmosphere..the restaurant is a perfect size, and not too loud..realizing its not really a sports bar, the TVs are surprisingly small..and look like a postage stamp hanging from their posts..and now to the meal. First, our waiter seemed totally uninterested, and we had to chase him down for a drink refill. My wife had the hand battered shrimp, and I had the same shrimp with crab cake combo. The shrimp were good, but maybe a little greasy. the crab cakes were good as well..our problem was with the sides..the coleslaw wasnt cold, and a little too close to room temperature for my comfort. We both had corn muffins that had a great taste..but were cold, and would no way melt butter. My biggest problem however, was with the fries..although they had a good flavor, they were cold, not many of them, and it look like they had been "dumped" out of the basket onto the plate. There were MANY bits, ends, and overcooked pieces that were hard as a brick..They should have placed the fries in a holding pan, and removed only the best, complete ones onto the plate. The bits and ends should be discarded..So the presentation was fairly lousy. In summary, the meal was OK, but for $50 with tip, it was disappointing. I have been talking Gulf Shores up to a couple we hang with that are slight "foodies"..but now I am afraid to recommend it based on this experience. Im feared they would also be disappointed. I plan to come back one more time to see if this improves..not the worst meal I have had by a long shot..but I think they need to step it up a notch if they want to prosper. I hope they do and wish them all the best, because they have a unique menu, and I would hate to see them founder. However, if I dont have a better experience next time, I will have to give them up. I dont mind paying for a good meal, but its too expensive for only "satisfactory"....

Went for the first time to Gulf Shores. I am sorry to say it was such a disappointment to my friend and I. We ordered the fish poor boy sandwich with cole slaw and fries. When our order was delivered, a battered 3" x 1 1/2" x 1" piece of cod was placed on a 6 or 7" huge chunk of french bread that was cut in half, buttered and grilled, and then the fish and entire bread surface was enveloped and overflowing with chopped lettuce. We could have laughed if we were not so shocked. I asked the waitress why such a huge chunk of bread, and she said that is what they are given--based on her comment, I am guessing this is distributed to them as part of a chain. I removed everything except 1/3 of the bottom piece of french bread which was still too thick and too much bread and placed this small piece of fish on it; then proceeded to eat. The fish did not have much flavor. When we tasted the cole slaw it was not to mine or my friends liking as the dressing was too "soupy". Fries were good, but nothing worth $13. I was hoping the cod fish sandwich would have been good as they never would have lost me as a customer.

I was so excited to find out that Harrys restaurant was going to morph another high quality Cajun bistro in my neighborhood. I told all my friends about it coming to Edwardsville. Finally got a chance to go there for lunch and was VERRY disappointed. OMG! The prices are probably 20% higher than the Creve Coeur Restaurant. Because of the price jump I decided my wallet could only afford a bowl of soup and a salad. Even that was disappointing. I ordered New England Clam Chowder and a side salad. The soup was very rich and creamy but in a clam chowder there really needs to be some clams. It was 95% potatoes and 4 pieces of clam. The salad was presented nicely but I had a total of 4 bites and it was gone. Unbelievable and very disappointed!! Should have rated it a 1 but the soup was creamy. Harry should supervise his staff better because the quality is NOT what I expect from a restaurant of Harrys -really.

If my overall experience was based on our first server Nick, it would have been one star. After waiting 15 -20 minutes for him to come and take our drink order it never happened. He told us when we sat down he would be right back. He never came back. If Celine and Jade had not stopped to ask us if we had been helped we would have left. They were very helpful and moved us to a different table. Paulina was our waitress and she was great. We got there right before the busy time so I cant say it was that. He was more interested in helping a table by the bar area then anyone else. I am not sure we will be back. This was our first time at this location. We have always went to the other one and had great service even when they were super busy.
