This is by far one of the worst Mexican restaurants Ive ever had the misfortune to visit. The place if filthy and very outdated, menus are literally falling apart, glasses were very old and disgusting. There must not be a health inspector in Sparta Illinois. The food is nothing like the other Tequilas Ive been to in St. Louis...not even in the same ballpark. The frozen margarita I had was the worst Ive ever tasted. I dont know if it was just really bad tequila or old mixers but I sent it back immediately.The service was lousy not because of a bad waitress but because she seemed to be waiting on everyone in the place while the owner or manager just walked around blindly never helping her at all. He never said anything to any customer, never helped her get drinks or food out...nothing. I was a rest. manager and trainer for many years and I can tell you with 100% certainty the he should not own or manage a restaurant of any kind. If Tequila is a franchise company then someone isnt doing their job of following up on their franchisees. This location will give them a bad reputation.

Ive eaten there twice with the service being fine once and slower than smoke off poop in January the next time. Liked the food very much when visiting which brought us back, but, the last time going there I was walking in the door with my son and wife and a guy leaving told us it had taken them an hour and half to get him his food that evening and that we might want to leave unless we brought a tent with us. We went elsewhere that evening after knowing they had been really slow before once and not nearly as busy looking as they were that night. Then I saw the picture of the roach someone posted on here and I doubt I will be back. YUCK!

Not very busy but took a long time to be seated to get your food and the pay your bill. This is not the first time this has happened this is been going on for months. not sure if this place is going under or if its poor management and or poor Staffing issues. Not sure if well be back again for another few months. We go about every 2 to 3 months and this issue has been going on way longer than that. Management ownership need to step up!

For starters with chips and salsa the sauce is not spicy whatsoever I ordered a steak with tostada an enchilada and beans and rice for sides. Rice is flavorless. Enchilada is covered in sauce that was not to my liking tasted more like a picante taco bell sauce. Steak was great. Service was good. I was expecting real mexican cuisine I was cut way short of my expectations. No Horchata. No Jarritos!

I am very sad. my family and I eat there all the time. Sometimes the food is better than others.but after seeing a nice healthy cockroach with a egg sack running around on our table it just sickened me. we had to go cant do it . I get some restaurants get them but the problem needs fixed its just nasty.we will not be going back.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Stood there waiting to be seated while they cashed aomeone out.. Then rather then seatbus they keep paying out people that already ate. Food is mediocre at best when they actually try. Place use to be awesome. Will never go back after tonight.

the food was HORRIBLE!!! sat there almost 35 min before they even took our order. we it Finally came out. The steak in my fajitas was ROTTEN!!!!!! I will not be going back.... DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! VERY POOR SERVICE, FOOD WAS HORRIBLE, VERY BELOW PAR!!

The service was terrible. The food was cold. A roach crawled onto our table while we were eating. My daughters food never came out. My chesse sauce never came out after 3 times of asking a watching him right it down. Worst place Ive been in a long time

I really like this restaurant, but sometimes service can be a bit slow. Food is usually really good. One of my favorite places to go. I would have rated 5, but sometimes the meat is seasoned really good, and sometimes it doesnt even taste seasoned.

The fajitas are fantastic. Its a great atmosphere, you feel like you are in old Mexico. the margaritas are very good , but be careful, two are most peoples limit. i sometimes go for 3, but am a heavy drinker. love the place.

Like all the other reviews suggest, its not worth your time. I ordered shrimp tacos and it came with only three shrimpy shrimp apiece. When I asked for more, he said 5 shrimp for $4.50. Charged me $10 for that sorry meal

I called my food in over an hour ahead of time just to have it still not be ready. With only so much time for my lunch this was not an acceptable occurrence. Itll be a while (if ever) before I take that chance again

Very close to dog food. Ive been there a few times and the food is always below par. The cheese dip and salsa are ok. Margaritas, not bad. Other than that, might as well have a frozen dinner .

Gave me a menu and asks what I want to eat before menu was opened. Got my food and been waiting for a drink for over 20 minutes not one person will stop and get me a drink

Great service, excellent food, friendly staff, and fast wifi. Definitely coming back here. Also the lime house margarita is amazing. Family friendly as bar is separate.

Food was good, service was good, everything was acceptable except the fact they overcharged us. I almost payed $80 for our food that actually totaled up to around $60.

2 times there have been hair or bugs in food. I was charged another persons bill on accident, I caught it and it was corrected. Thank goodness I caught it.

The margarita tasted like there was no alcohol in it and the monster burrito was just ok. Prices are reasonable and service was ok.

They do have a tendacy to under staff at buisy times. The attmosphear is nice and relaxing.
