Chicago Bar Bracket
A dark and comfortable pub with great service. What more could a Chicago based Irish descendent want? Well, I guess the Irish in me should have some ire towards the English nature of the pub, but seriously, who can pass up a good pub? The service I received at this bar was fantastic, friendly and fast. I had no trouble finding a seat at the bar (this place is huge), and did not wait long for my first drink (or any of the following drinks). I didnt try the food because I had already ate. It looked very British but what I saw other people eating looked delicious and was tempted to have second dinner. My bartender was quick with a recommendation of an Oktoberfest when I asked for her recommendation, although the beer felt like it was served room temperature. Then again maybe this beer is supposed to be served that way. My multiple Guinnesses on the other hand were perfect and you could tell the bartenders put time & effort into the pours to get them just right. The only thing that felt off about this pub was its music selection, but I not so secretly think that the music doesnt fit the atmosphere because the owners want you to pay for Touch Tunes. The only other tip I have about this bar is you may want to check the soccer schedule - if theres a game of any significance anywhere in the world, I suspect it will be on T.V. here, and possibly even with the sound on. Something Im not that interested in, but others probably are. So, plusses: Atmosphere & service. Cons: Soccer and music. In my NCAA style bracket to find the best bar in Chicago -"The Chicago Bar Bracket" - The Globe Pub narrowly beat out Quenchers Saloon. You can read more about the matchup by clicking on my profile and checking out my site. The Globe is definitely a good bar and one that youd want in your neighborhood, but well have to wait and see if it stacks up as one of the best bars in Chicago.

I live near the globe and have been here more times than I can count. If you love international soccer, than this is your pub. Its a large venue and it recently eat the more refined bar next door. They just cut a hole in the wall. So the atmosphere has 2 distinct elements. The food is well known in the neighborhood. I for one am a huge fan of the BLT here. Theyre open for lunch and have a fun 2am scene as well. The globe is a diverse one of kind experience. Check it out.

Great bar to watch soccer especially if youre an Arsenal fan. Awesome atmosphere and a wide selection of IPAs and a great English breakfast. Also the waitresses are fantastic hard working girls. Only thing is it gets real busy for the games and it seems that there isnt enough staff so if you dont go walk up to the bar youll be waiting for your beer. They also dont do buckets wish they would then we wouldnt have to flag the waitress for one beer. Other than that great place.

Left a lot to be desired as far as service and quality of the image provided. Server (Stephanie) was totally overwhelmed or did not have any idea of how to serve more than one table. The Globe should change its name to Arsenal Pub. Would not recommend this place unless you want to wait half an hour to just ask for your drink order. Im from Indianapolis and will keep being loyal to Chatham Tap, that IS the better sports bar.

English Premiere League, and Football leagues from all over the world can be watched, enjoyed and roared for with minds alike fans of your favorite football clubs. Banter, Beer, Whiskey and a great Breakfast, in an atmosphere that will sustain your week if your team wins! Nothing helps if your team loses. Not even the conciliatory drink bought for you by the opposition.

The Globe is probably the best pace to watch soccer in Chicago. They carry games from all over Europe as well as the US. They play Chicago games for all the major sports as well. The staff is friendly overall, and they serve typical pub fare. If youre looking for a casual hangout in North Center, and especially if youre a soccer fan, this is a great place to check out.

Im not into dressing up really nice for bars, im a blue collar Liverpool fan. The waitresses know there stuff. The variety of beer is amazing, id recommend the fullers esb, imperial IPA, or a little zombie dust.. the food also is amazing, maybe a little procey but taste amazing. Order the southern wrap and you cant go wrong

I may work here, but I work here due a reason. One of the few places in North side that showed legitimate love to a stranger. Food until 12, great liquor selections(especially for a sports pub), fabulous beer storerooms (over 400) and a staff thats chill as a shaken martini. Ladies and gentleman, this place is dope!

One of the Best Import Beer Lists in Chicago. There are over 300 beers to choose from. The food choices are excellent with very reasonable pricing. They serve the only English Style Egg breakfast with "bangers" that I know of. Great Chicken Wings, huge salad options, try any of the Quesadillas.

Great neighborhood bar, friendly bartenders, and extensive beer list. My friends and I made this our go to bar for a few years when we all lived near it. Its known as a soccer bar but it is great for grabbing a beer after work. The food is decent and will help prevent a hangover the next morning.

Great place to watch soccer in chicago. Would Highly recomend it. Not as good as Nevada Smiths in New York, but they have had some big name visitors including names like Allen Ball and Gary Neville. Great English Breakfast too! Will be there Aug 14 at 730am for CHELS VS STOKE!!! UP THE CHELS!

Neighborhood bar with a great atmosphere. They have lots of televisions with sports on every one, whatever your desire. Very respectable draft beer selection with lots of local brews. I cant speak of most of the food menu, but they make a cheap delicious pretzel with either cheese or mustard.

A near-perfect experience tainted by a poor choice of piped-in music. Must visit pub when, my favorite place, a great pint in Beautiful surroundings. One of the few pubs without blaring televisions. I havent tried the new menu yet. Overall this place is great and I would go back.

Nice pub with good food, great beer selection, and really friendly servers and bartenders. Having so many games playing at once can be a little disconcerting, but at the same time its a great place to catch soccer, rugby, or football games anytime during the week or weekend

A wonderful pub to watch a soccer match, enjoy decent pub food and discuss soccer events past, present and future with knowledgeable staff and patrons. The only place in Chicago you need to be to watch a match. Unfortunately, they are Tottenham supporters and not Arsenal.

Traveled to Chicago with my wife for a getaway. We went to the Globe to watch the Clasico for the Copa Del Rey. The place was packed. Service was great and friendly. We will go back to the Globe when we travel to Chicago again. If you go try the Estrella Damm beer.
