I typically hate dive bars, but this one isnt that bad. When I first walked in, I took a quick look at the crowd and was like EEK maybe we should have picked a different bar. I just saw a lot of scruffiness, but really I shouldnt judge. I called ahead and booked space for 20-25 people at 5:30 and they were so pleasant about it and accommodated for us and didnt even require a deposit. We had four large tables in the back, and this wonderful server who was always around, always checking up on us to see if we needed more drinks. She was prompt and friendly, which is always appreciated. Food came out pretty fast two. The sweet potato fries went fast, so I had to order another one of those. The pizza puffs and chicken quesadillas were awesome as well-- everybody was grabbing at the quesadillas. I wish the nachos had guac on them--- or if they did, there was so little that I wasnt getting any. Sitting near the windows is fun, because theres so much to see-- like drunk people puking at 6 PM on a Tuesday night in the street, or people walking back and forth and back and forth. What a show. Prices are pretty reasonable here as well. If you want a dive bar in the Loop, youve found your place!

Divey bar in the loop with typical barfood and drinks. This place is great for happy hour if youre looking for a no-frills basic bar but can get pretty crowded since its small. If you want a table get here early! The food is just fine for something to munch on when youre having drinks with coworkers or friends but youll never go here explicitly for the food. Theyre also open on weekends, which is a rarity in the loop for bars of this type. Note the hours they display on google maps arent always accurate for weekends - based on crowds they will close accordingly, so if you have a larger party that might want to come in later in the evening on a Saturday or Sunday call ahead and see if theyll stay open.

The guy that works there is truly racist. I cannot believe what happened. He literally told me that he refused to serve me, when I came in. Because Im "not a stock, or definitely not a blonde." Im 26. African American. 127 lbs. The people at the bar just sat there and watched, when I left, teary-eyed. I was soooo humiliated! Now Im furious! What is this? The 1960s? I was vacationing in Chicago for the weekend with a couple colleagues that didnt drink, so I waited until I departed from them after dinner, to go and grab a few beers. Get to know people in the area. This place was near our hotel. Nice way to make someone feel welcome. NOT.

While this place may be crowded on a Friday afternoon, its totally worth it. ive never seen a beer list like this at a downtown bar and have to say that I was genuinely impressed! Not only was the wait staff really friendly, but they were very nimble in dealing with a crowd of 10 or more. the rest of tables were full of the Yuppie elite, but it still felt doable given the beer list and knowing that the waitstaff were still working for tips.

Nice old school bar it must be said on entering, Beers though were brutally expensive, £7 for barley half a pint of Ballast Point, ordered the special the Reuben for $8.50, sounded good, looked good. Nice sweet potato fries, crunchy and tasty, the Reuben looked good too, but the meat was dreadful quality, cheap bacon, chewy, fatty, so disappointing. Over $50 for a meal for two in a bar with two drinks each!!!

Stocks & Blondes is on the ground floor, under the shadow of the El. The decor is somewhat past its prime, but the draft list more than makes up for that. There is quite the selection of craft beers written on a chalkboard. The servers are very friendly. There is bar food, which is prepared to order. A neat stop when in the Southwest loop, after an event or when catching the El. A classy dive.

Pretty basic neighborhood bar. My coworker and I stopped in on a Friday after work and it was very crowded and not particularly welcoming. Only one of at least four staff members that we encountered was actually kind to us, but we did get served. It was awkward with standing room only, but eventually a party left and we got to sit down. Most patrons seemed to be having more fun than we were..

Great place to go for a great lunch. It has very dark furniture inside so it can be very dim. Has high stools with tall tables. Theres a jukebox and tvs inside to entertain you. Food is quite tasty...my favorite is their mushroom fritters. Delicious! They often have great deals online -- you have to do a search for their deals. Has a small bar feel to the space.

E um bom restaurante e podemos experimentar um dos melhores sanduiches. E verdadeiramente um restaurante americano. E uma boa pedida para turistas.

Decent loop dive bar. However, there is a painted sign on the window advertising $10 pitchers. I asked about it and was told, "its nostalgic, like color T.V." Ummm they still have color T.V. But they dont have $10 pitchers. Clearly, false advertising. Good beer selection (a bit pricey) and decent pub food offerings.

If youre stuck in the loop way too late working because of the man and now you need a drink, go to Stocks and Blondes. Pub food on the menu which is fine if you need a bite, but I usually only go for late-night drinks when Im still stuck in downtown working too late. Its a hole in the wall... a charming dump.

Good bar food fare with a full selection of local craft beer. Fiat price. The waitstaff was responsive and knowledgeable about beer. They were out of one beer I requested and I was offered a comparable alternative based on style. Lots of TVs in optimal locations for sports viewing.

This is a run down dive bar, plain and simple. The food is decent and the drinks are cheap. Interior looks like it hasnt been updated or cleaned in 30 years. Open very late in the loop which is great for late night options when everything else is closed.

Go here with a suit and tie on and order a Coors, or go wearing a t-shirt and shorts and order a craft beer from the long beer menu. This is one of those places that anyone can call their "5 oclock bar" - even if you did happen to stroll in at 3.

Great selection of beers, play all kinds of sport on the screens, and were very flexible and accommodative when I was the only one wanting to watch the football! Friendly staff and relaxed regular crowd.

Used to live here back in the day. They expanded their beers on tap and have a good selection of local brews. Still a great dive in the loop. Didnt get to try food but menu looked expanded.

Love this place! Great daily special brews and a great beer selection. Salads are huge and delicious. Small, dark and comfy; but get a table before 11:45am or 4:00pm otherwise youre standing.

Dive bar in the business district. Great prices and very nice selection of local beers. Awesome spot for a meet up after work - but it gets fairly crowded during the happy hour hours.
