The food and service here is mediocre, at best (do NOT recommend). As we arrived, we had to ask for the menu after 10 minutes waiting where most of the space was blocked by people seated at the bar. I purchased a chicken breast sandwich and a sirloin steak with fries, salad, and garlic bread (for two). Instead of a chicken breast sandwich, we were served a grilled cheese sandwich, a rather thin piece of steak, chefs "salad" (it was two slices of tomato in a bowl of lettuce), and garlic bread that tasted as burnt as the Hindenburg - the grilled cheese was marginally better but still not great. When we asked for the bill, we were given the order with the chicken sandwich and the 16.50 steak. Considering that you can get much better food in Australia for the same amount of money (where everything supposedly costs more), this was exceptionally poor value for money - and no need to tip (hint: minimum wage of 17.28 AUD).

I stumbled across this place when walking around trying to find a non-pretentious bar with football. I walked in and sat at the bar. Took me far too long to get an overpriced beer. I wanted something to munch on, so I ordered the jalapeño poppers. For $9.25, I got 6 clearly frozen and from a box poppers that werent cooked all the way through. I couldnt get anyones attention to say something so I just ate what I could. I had a couple of sips of beer left in the pint glass when the bartender came by and grabbed the glass and dumped the last of it out. She didnt even ask me if I wanted anything else. Instead, she stood there examining a bottle of wine. I tried to get her attention, but she just walked off to the other end of the bar. Eventually, the other bartender came back and I got my check. I will never go back. Horrible, overpriced food and pathetic service

There is nothing like this place in River North! I like this place! Its a dive bar with hand written drink specials in the window. There is not dress code here! I always gotta go for that cheap shot. Hey its priced to move! This is a fun place to grab a drink considering all of the other fancy establishments that surround this area. it is only a matter of time before this bar is turned into a Starbucks. I hope that the owner owns the building and is here forever. I love walking by here and just stopping in for one or two...it is a tradition. So next time you are in the area then give this place a try because you will probably fall in love with it.

Went there looking to chill and get a bite to eat, food was good but the bartenders are the worst Ive ever encountered, we had to practically beg for an overpriced drink, and when they did finally get around to gracing you with their presence that had horrible attitudes, it was like I was bothering them. I ordered me and my date a Budweiser and a PBR, we were given one Budweiser and when I started to ask for the PBR she turned her back and walked away. There are way better bars in the area that are a lot cheaper, check out Rossis and the Billy Goat if you want an affordable good time. I will never go back to Snickers.

This place is alright. Its a dive in river north. Stopped in with coworkers on a weeknight and while the bar was pretty empty the music was blasting as if the place was much more busy than it was. After finding a table that wasnt directly hit by a speaker, the waitress came over quickly and was attentive and served us quickly. Personally I think there are other bars like this in the area that are a little better (like Mother Hubbards) but if youre looking for a dive in River North, snickers is probably worth checking out to see if it matches your vibe.

Its a dive bar, so I dont recommend eating the food or drinking from anything other than a bottle or can. Sit at the bar to appreciate the filth and utter lack of concern for cleanliness in the cooking area - the flat top, deep fryer, hood, and prep area could use a very deep cleaning. I made the mistake of ordering a Green Line from the tap, and it was just awful. The scene is super fun to watch, just be aware that the management and staff dont care about maintaining a clean environment.

lunch gyro sandwhich is meh with mushy meat and bland tzatziki, but still enjoyable. fries were good. the kicker is the insanely overpriced $9.50 gin and tonic (with a browning lime wedge). the ambiance is comical as a diver bar & diner combo where the food is cooked by a friendly 70 year old and the drinks are served by a tight night club disco dress wearing blonde with an easter european accent. this place is fun, food is just okay and the drinks are excessively overpriced...eh.

Definite sports dive bar. If youre thinking you can grab a bite to eat here, stay away. After ordering one round of drinks and a quick meal, our waitress/bartender told us she was leaving and that we would need to go to the bar to get a drink. Our basic meals were incorrect and we watched as several other groups came in, were never acknowledged and left after 15 minutes of wasting their time. Might be a good spot for a cheap beer, but thats about it.

If you go here, youre obviously looking for a dive bar vibe. But there are better ones around town. Im most upset by the bartender pouring out our half-full beers when our backs were turned, then the "backup" bartender feeling sorry for us, pouring us a new round, and then charging us for it. Thats inexcusable. The bouncer is worth a mention - keeps a set of handcuffs on him at all times. Kinda funny..but mostly sad.

I have been going to Snickers for several years, and it is a great spot to hang out and watch the downtown crowds while enjoying a cold beer or cocktail. The owner is often hanging out with the crowd, and the european waitstaff is not hard to look at....Great alternative when you are looking for down to earth socialization. The greek inspired food is also good, as are the sandwiches, and the price is right.

Walking down the street I heard Journey blasting out of this bar and immediately knew there was a party going on inside. (Because its not a party until someone plays Journey) Great, GREAT atmosphere! (By "GREAT" I mean youre either going to love it or hate it. Theres no middle ground on this bar.) Good drink prices for downtown and good food. I never miss a chance to come here when Im in Chicago.

Overall, pretty good. Decent food, better-than-average beer selection, though they do hit you with a pretty serious markup on the beer. A half-pound burger, third-pound burger (both with fries), High Life and Hacker-Pschorr was almost $40 after tax and tip. To echo whats already been said by others, its sort of an upscale dive. Average service, average atmosphere.

This bar is an absolute gem. There arent too many dive bars downtown so they typically are packing them in. When its nice out, the windows open up and you can hear patrons belting out the lyrics to Sweet Child of Mine to the sub-par sound system around noon on a Tuesday. They have a pretty good beer list and the staff is friendly.
