Wish I could give NEGATIVE 3 STARS.WORST Customer service ever! Horrible, the worst experience I have had in my life. I was simply there to conduct business there with my business partner in a quiet environment. ( The other coffee shop down the street was noisy and loud) We first arrived to order a small drink or something to support the business while we were there. The owner immediately approached me rudely because I had a drink from another company. I politely told her I would throw it away outside then sit down. We were rushed to order something or get out!(her words not mine) almost every 30 secs for all of the 10 mins we were there. She repeatedly was mumbling under her breath, swearing because I brought something in from another establishment. I apologized again and then she rudely said ...Just order something already!.. Thats when we got up and took our business elsewhere. Very poor customer service. Especially to a couple young business men that live in the area ( we know alot of people, potential customers smh) We will NEVER come again. So everyone please stay away...unless you want POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH AN ATTITUDE

My absolute favorite coffee shop.... EVER! Great customer service, great coffee and tea, and great food. Most importantly, the staff make sure the place is kept CLEAN. The woman who runs it also is extremely pleasant and takes the time to get to know her customers. She was sure to ask if I lived in the area (which I do but I had never been) and make small talk as she has never seen my face before which I thought was a nice touch. Ive been back 4x since and will definitely be going back again.

The people who own this place are independent business people from Africa. They serve authentic Ethiopian food that is just TO DIE FOR.They make a variety of coffee drinks and authentic African tea drinks and their quality is superb. They are always courteous and their service is good, but not instantaneous. They make everything fresh so be patient. It is worth it. Coffee in a hurry anytime. To dine in you may have to park a few blocks away. It is Rogers Park! Again, this place is worth it

This is one of my absolute favorite places in the city. Food is great. I love the owner and she makes me feel like family everytime I come. Lox omelet, lentil soup, french toast, chai latte, Ethiopian tea, and Ethiopian bread are fantastic among other choices. I come all the way from Chatham (Southside) to Rogers park for the cafe. My boyfriend and I used to come here together, but they have also accomodated my family a couple of times(6-10 people ), graciously.

I want to love this place. Its in my neighborhood and the food is really good. However, the cleanliness keeps me from going back. All tables were dirty even though they were all empty, so we sat down at a table full of crumbs. There were stains on and in the containers of sugar etc that were brought to us. Remnants of Christmas decorations were up in July. All the plants there are dead. I just wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen based on what Ive seen.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Rogers Park. They always give you little cookies with your coffee which I love. One of the few places you can get a good cup of Turkish coffee as well. They have a printer there which you can cloud print through your email. They also have one of the best open mic nights in Rogers Park which is on Monday nights.

Right when i walked in i went to take a snapchat of the menu and the employees scolded me not to do so. What is so terrible about photographing the menu? It would have been free publicity. This puzzles me and made me feel very unwelcomed. Then the food took a long time to be prepared and there was hair in it. Would not recommend to anyone.

I visited here in March. You wont feel out of place with your laptops; many academics, students and professors. Friendly bar staff. In the afternoon, they turned on the TV with the Chelsea/Arsenal football/soccer match; this was fun but may be too distracting for some. Nice busy atmosphere, with views from windows on 2 sides.

Love this place. Its like going to your best friends for coffee. Its cozy, warm, and inviting. Yudit, the owner, knows everyone by first name, and truly cares about her community. The coffee is amazing. They serve an array of Ethiopian and standard American meals. Lots of outdoor seating. Its our go to Sunday morning coffee.

We love it here. We buy our coffee (both caf. and decaf.) here. Its delicious. And, we have a meal about once a month. The people who run it are kind and always remember us. So friendly. And, the food is DELICIOUS and the prices reasonable. Great place to spend the morning with friends.

Worst experience of my life eating here. This place is incredibly dirty and should be closed down. Ordered coffee in here a few times and even had crepes. Found a few hairs in my crepes and will never be going back again. Owner is very rude and should learn how to treat customers.

Weve been coming here for a couple of years. We live about 10 minutes away and we often travel down to Royal Coffee when we have a craving for Ethiopian scrambled eggs. The coffee is wonderful, The owners are lovely, hardworking people. The kefir smoothies are wonderful too.

The coffee, Ethiopian food, and sweets available are delicious and very fairly priced. Vegan and gluten free options, which is especially nice. The owners are sweet and entirely accommodating. Definitely a homey atmosphere and very casual/relaxed. One of my new favorites.

Great vibe. Theres outdoor seating and plenty of it. Service was quick and accurate and very friendly. Great food and flavorful rich coffee. If youve never had Ethiopian before I recommend that the Ethiopian combination its filling and satisfying. Cant wait to go back!

We have been going here for several years now. It has a very pleasant atmosphere and the owners/staff are friendly and welcoming. This is a great place to get an introduction to Ethiopian food, as it is good and inexpensive. The coffee is outstanding.

Not student friendly. I tried to sit down to study to get situated before I ordered coffee and the owner said I had to order before I got started. Why not just let me get seated first? Bad service. Gave it a courtesy star for being local.

Cute little coffee shop. Great place to relax without many distractions. Table service. Friendly staff. Comfortable seating inside and out. Free WiFi. Overall, decent location that serves more than just your ordinary fresh cup of coffee.

We went on a weekend morning. Got a feta omelette: good, but nothing spectacular. Service was good though. The gentleman working (young guy, short hair, glasses) was prompt, friendly, and helpful regarding my food allergy.
