Really good ramen spot. They have several types of ramen including paitan and spicy miso. I wish they had tonkotsu ramen though although the paitan ramen broth is similar. It was also cool (and unusual) to see they have takoyaki (fried batter with pieces of octopus in the middle) on the menu which is rare in Japanese restaurants outside of Japan. Nice touch! Really good place overall with an authentic look and the owner is from Sapporo, Japan.

The ramen broth is good, but its not the classic Tonkatsu broth. Its lighter, not as rich & thick. They use cage free chicken to make their broth. The noodles were al dente, pork cha sui was delicious (just melts in your mouth & its Berkshire pork) and the egg was just perfect (very flavorful & not overcooked). I would have given 5 stars, but they did mix up our order a few times and mixed up our order with the table next to us.

One of the best ramen Ive ever eaten in Chicago! The broth is really flavored but I wish it was thicker! I order the Osaka shiu and have no regrets! My boyfriend ordered the Tokyo classic but I did like that much! I added chili oil in my ramen but they have chilli powder in the table so next time I will just stick to it! We came here on a cold saturday night and surprisingly no line! Better than high5 and no wait!

Food was delicous. I had the Tokyo bowl and it had everything. The pork was slightly sweet and there was tons of veggies so I didnt feel that bad eating it! The broth was savory and the noodles werent to soft that they fell apart. All in all it was a great experience. And dont even get me started on the pork buns! The sauce was delicous and the pork melted in my mouth. If there was an appetizer to get it was that!

Really good ramen (also try the spicy tuna/spicy salmon poke if its a special!), but the space is really tiny and cramped (seats and tables much too close to each other) and its sweltering hot (no AC or fans, only open air). Be prepared to wait a really long time if you have more than a party of 2. Also, dont get the old fashioned. Its made wrong. Service is nice, not really anything to say about that.

This place is so quaint. My husband and I went here after work one night and it was crowded. I had the dipping ramen and here had a chicken ramen. Both were good but I must admit, his was better. After that, we had the fried chicken bun which was soo good. If you are familiar with boa buns you probably get what Im talking about. Take that add fried chicken and a spicy mayo nd call it a thing.

Spectacular! Im a regular at this place at this point. Their Shoyu Ramen w/ Chicken and some chili oil does the trick. Also their Takoyaki and Gyoza are the best around. Feels like youve been transported to the alleys of Tokyo. Love it and after tasting at least a dozen ramen spots around town this one gets my highest rating. Just wish they were open on Mondays!

Welcoming decor and ambiance followed by underwhelming ramen with over-salted broth, bland noodles, and sparse toppings. Staff were pushy and repeatedly tried to bus our bowls while we were actively eating. The restaurant has potential but the over-supply of west-loop customers removes the incentive to improve. Ranks at the bottom of my ramen experiences in Chicago.

It was a busy Sunday night, but we were seated right away at the bar. Beware if they try to put you on the corner though, not exactly enough room for two adults to eat side-by-side. It was ok though, once a couple left closer to the wall, we were able to move. The ramen was amazing, and the sake recommended was excellent as well. Definitely worth a try!

No wait on a Sunday evening. Food came out fast. Service was friendly. My vegan ramen was tasty, but I found it weird that it was more expensive than my friends ramen, which had chicken and pork belly. Regardless, its a place I would return, especially given its close proximity to the Publican, which is a nice stop for some dessert post ramen.

This place never disappoints. Everyone I bring here is a ramen lover who will judge me based on their experience. I come away looking like a hero. Everything I have tried is tasty and well prepared. Theyre consistent. I love grabbing lunch here. They currently have a cold ramen special that is awesome on a hot summer day.

Ramen Takeya is a ramen shop that has the traditional look and feel of a ramen shop; in this case like the alley of a Japanese street. They take a more sustainable approach by using broth that’s made from cage-free chickens. If you like their sister restaurant Wasabi, you’ll love these guys.

I went with a couple of Asians who swear by this place. I had the spicy chicken paitan... a tasty broth without the excessive saltiness that you sometimes find with ramen (not that Im complaining about salty). We started with the crispy takoyaki, which was/is amazing... get it.

Have to say, being myself from NYC where Raman places are on top of each other, this little restaurant impressed with excellent food, clean and comfortable environment. Bartender was awesome recommending dishes. If you like Ramen this is the place. Enjoy

Ive ordered or shared an order of every ramen on the menu. My favorite is the shio, which is very flavorful for what is traditionally a light broth. If youre vegetarian, the vegan broth is complex with layers of flavor. Quite busy on weeknights!

Solid ramen, with good combinations and options. I got the Tokyo classic shoyu, and it was surprisingly (and pleasantly) less salty than most ramen places. As someone who generally doesnt eat pork, I liked that I could substitute the pork belly.

Goooooood. Omg. They only give you chopsticks and I was too proud to ask for a fork but I managed. Food was excellent and came super quickly. Staff was superb and seated us right away. It was my first bowl of ramen and I cant wait to go again.

Im no ramen expert, but beinf taught by one... Service was good, pork in the ramen is thicker cut, which is excellent, and the Japanese fried chicken was spot on. If you are near the loop, also try the ramen place inside of revival food hall.

The service was great, the ramen was very good, and it had a nice atmosphere. Wasnt the best Ive had but I have nothing bad to say about it. Id recommend asking for a side of roasted garlic for $0.50, makes the meal all the more delicious!

Called to put in a pickup order and the person who answered the phone asked to put me on hold for 5 min...just to take my order. Finally put in the order and when I go to pick it up it was apparently never submitted. I wont be going back.

Tye chicken paitan broth is reminiscent of a lighter tonkotsu broth - try the spicy version if you wany a decent kick. The baos are a great appetizer, amd the chicken karaage is a must have. Nice atmosphere, design, amd friendly staff.

The wait was extremely long and the hostess kept saying that we would be seated in five minutes. It was 45 minutes before we were seated. I enjoyed furious spoon and slurping turtle more than Ramen Takeya, but it did not disappoint.
