First time eating here,I see alot of locals come in for the duck, I ordered a lunch special which came with soup in the beginning,But found a small dead bug inside my soup,Did not even eat it.I had ordered the Curry chicken, No flavor at all,Did not look appealing,Mostly was all white rice.I asked if another type of ricw was an option (Shrimp friend rice,- I do know places charge alittle extra for this)But they said No.As I looked at their menu and asked for a watermellon smoothie that was displayed also at the fron of the restaurant,They said that they did not serve smoothies . Then I had asked for water, Tte cup of water looked really dirty with finger prints all over and they did not check up on us at all. It was not even bussy.my friend had ordered their duck special which seemed to be cheaper than the curry chicken.I watched the "Butch" cut the Ducks with Barehands and with his hand he placed it ontop of white rice. It did not look sanitary. serving ontop of rice,My friend who has the duck said that It was tasty but it was kind of cold , they just have their chickens/ducks hanging by the window. The lady only came to give us the check towards the end,and thats the only time she came , and also insisted on a Tip after just signing the receipt,They did not give us napkins till we asked towards the end and I found a dead bug squashed inbetween my napkin,Does not seem sanitary. Would not recommend.

This place has horrible service. Would not recommend. Save your money and go somewhere, anywhere else. My family and I walked in during a cold and rainy day, as we settled in our server brought over some tea (about the nicest thing she did the whole time) and stood beside us impatiently tapping her foot. Keep in mind its winter so as we settled in we are taking off our hats and scarves and coats. Suddenly out of no where she goes to the far end of the room and starts screaming in her native language. We have no idea what it was about. it was such an awkward and hostile environment, everyone looked at us and we had no clue what was going on. Only reason we stayed was because we were really hungry. We ordered fried rice which arrived quickly and duck which took much longer but they only gave us a plate and fork. No knife. No napkins. Overall: horrible service, awkward uncomfortable environment, okay food. If I could Id give them half a star because the food was alright.

First of all, do not be put off by the ambiance and rather drab appearance of the place when you first walk in. One cannot judge a book by its cover because the food here is pretty good. The meats are succulent, never dried out. The roasted meats have crispy skin and the steamed meats have delicious, juicy skin on the outside and tender meat on the inside. My personal favorites are the roasted duck and soy sauce steamed chicken. The portions are generous even for 2 people or one really hungry person. Even though the service is nothing to be wowed over, and the place looks somewhat run down and dreary, the quality of the food here more than makes up for it. Plus, its really good value for money with you consider their prices. One thing to note though, is that credit cards are only accepted for orders above $10. Otherwise theyll tack on a service fee if you use your credit card so for small orders, its best to have cash.

best duck ! while the appearance for most Americans may be unsanitary. since you see the meat hanging in the window. this place serves up some really good authentic duck and chicken Chinese style. the price is cheapest probably in Chicago for a meal. you can get your meat vegetable and rice a bowl of soup and unlimited amount of tea for 5!$ seating booths and appearance of resturant was outdated. and when we asked to take home our food they returned everything that we had on our plate.. we did go back the next day to get some meals to take home since its soo good and cheap. hope to return for the pork chicken and Duck!

They have the BEST egg rolls, in town – friend of mine and I refer to them as mini-burritos! They are enormous, tasty and if you think you need to order yourself more than one because of past experience with mini-egg rolls, stop! Also, I am a big fan of their roast duck...tends to be my regular order: - Egg roll - Roast duck - (and if someone is with me) Pork fried rice You should at least show up for an order of egg rolls, I promise you wont be disappointed!

Great Wall has been in Chinatown for so many years - I can remember going there since I was a kid, so that means at least 15 years at this point. The reason its been around so long is because the food. Theres always a reasonably long line for carryout since the BBQ is never dry and its consistently flavorful. You get a ton of food for dishes that are usually under $7. Is the service lacking? Probably. But in my opinion, the food makes up for it.

Soy chicken, BBQ pork and BBQ duck over rice cures my homesick! People work here are nice, they just not that good at English. Just give them a little bit patient so everyone is happy. They actually care about the customers. Once my friends and I came here for lunch. We ordered soda but grandma refused to serve, she said soda is bad for health, and give us extra soup of the day.

The place is little old and old school, the carry out lines are long, the staffs are slow and sometimes not the nicest, yet this is my favorite place for BBQ pork and roast duck in Chicago. We also love their yang chow fried rice and the minced beef rice, their portion size is very generous and the wok flavor is really good too. Lunch special rice plates are $4.85.

I had to put at least a star rate but if I wanted I would put zero stars. The service is horrible. "Since youre Mexican you get white rice". My appearance has been judged by at this restaurant. I Mentioned it to the manager but all he said was sorry .. Employees are just thirsty for money .. Horrible restaurant

Visited this restaurant once. Lousy food. Not worth the money. BBQ pork was chopped into too big pieces. There are a lot more better Chinese restaurant in Chicago. Keep this one the last choice in your list to visit.

Table was dirty, soup (pork) had no taste, orange chicken and beef broccoli had no flavor, shrimp fried rice tasted burnt. To top it off the workers were arguing the entire time we were trying to eat.
