Was there Sunday July 17 ( for my birthday ) with My 6 friends who flew in from czech and just wanted a nice spot to have a Staropramen or a Pilsner, I Just KNEW IT THIS PLACE would have HAD THE BEST SELECTION EVER OF BEER FOR MY FRIENDS and it certainly did! We had no plans on actually eating just drinking alot this day, but after talking with this amazing bartender I believe here name was Barbara, She really knew the food and discriptions well, and she got us to get hungry which probally was a great idea because the beer was not stopping this day! We had Snitzel if course amazing! Fried Cheese which in czech is a nice delicousy to have as well as, and finally for my bday, Barbara recommended for me the plate called SVICKOVA, ( i hope i spelled that right ;) )...... it was AWSOME!!! We had no complaints, it was very busy but nice and chilled inside from air conditioning, very clean and very attentative service from the bartender / server who was very busy but very reliable.....!!!! LOV THIS PLACE 5 stars!!! we will be back again soon!!!! JD Schaumburg Illinois.

What a great a restaurant! I stopped by with some of my friends Tuesday night after bowling. I got my usual vodka gimlet. My friends really liked the selection of imported Czech beers. They ordered the beer flight to taste all of the Bohemian beers. Pilsner Urquell was the winner! We had a very nice waitress who told us about the Tuesday $10 food specials featuring all the traditional Czech dishes. I had the stuffed red peppers with the homemade bread dumplings. It was absolutely delicious! Portions are large and I had it the next day at home. My friends ordered beef goulash with potato pancakes and the moravian pork with potato dumplings. You can really feel the old world cooking that went into these dishes. I am German-Hungarian and the flavors and texture reminded me so much of how my grandmother used to cook. So tasty! We were too full but the waitress suggested we try the homemade strudel so we got one plate served with ice cream and shared it. What a good decision but we almost ended up fighting over the last bite. We will definitely be back again soon!

Just had the beef goulash with potato pancakes and it was DE LI CI OUS! The beef was super tender and the potato pancakes had a nice subtle buttery taste to them on top of having the perfect amount of crunchiness without being overlooked. The restaurant itself has a beautiful exposed brick decor with a lot of retro styled signs and photos reminiscent of the former Czechoslovakia. The waitstaff were extremely courteous, professional and knowledgable not to mention VERY easy on the eyes. :) The owner Milada, who I thought was one of the waitresses at first, came to our table to ask how we liked everything and even took the time to recommend some desserts and after dinner aperitifs which would complement our meal which she ended up giving to us on the house. Total class act. We were very pleasantly surprised at the end of the evening when the check arrived. Two complete entrees including appetizers and drinks came out to less than 60.00. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

I was a little bit disappointed this time. I came here for a lunch with my coworker so I could have her experience a meal from my home country. We had goulash and svickova. The meat in my svickova was unfortunately partially undercook and thats why I did not end up eating my entire dish. We also had to wait for quite a while before we received it. The biggest disappointment was the waitress - Together with my main course, I also ordered a dessert which I was suppose to get after finishing the main course. Never received it ( also mind you- we were the only ones at the restaurant at that time), she completelly forgot about it. Also never asked if we want to split our final check, and never even gave me a pen to write her a tip- so I didnt give any, because I was disappointed.

Tato restaurace nabízí nejlepší české jídlo v Chicagu. Pivo a dezert jsou výborné jako v Čechách. Objednal jsem řízek a to velmi doporučuji. TRANSLATION: The food is genuine Czech and the restaurant is definitely worth the visit. However, I wish this were closer to the city center where there is more foot traffic.

I was looking for different cuisine to try in my neighborhood and when I found Cafe Prague I was amazed. The food is rich and hearty. I ordered the potato pancakes (handmade and fresh) with goulash - out of this world. My friend ordered the stuffed red pepper with Czech dumplings. For dessert the warm crispy homemade apple strudel with ice cream was delicious. The service staff was quick and very helpful explaining the various menu items. We will be back often!

Excellent food. For starter, we had "halusky" and potato pancakes ("placky"). Both were very good and not very heavy, as is normally the case with Czech and Slovak cuisine. The main course was beef tenderloin with cream sauce and homemade bread dumplings ("svickova na smetane"). Everything was superb was absolutely superb. THe desset was apple strudel, but we were so stuffed we had to take the dessert to go.

Its a nice place to hang out with friends. They have good home made food, good deserts, nice selection of beer and mixed drinks. Theyve recently did a revovation, it looks much better now! I like the weekend bands, old school songs, a dance floor - nice thing! I would ad maybe two more bands to have them all in rotating system, so the customers dont get bored easily.

Had an early dinner to celebrate my birthday. Had the Moravian Pork with potato dumplings and liver dumpling soup and potato pancakes. All were like my mother and grandmother made. The server Oksana was very kind and attentive. I could not eat it all as it was a feast so I have some to take home. A great place for a family get together for a delicious meal....JJ

I went into Cafe Prague on a Wednesday evening not many people but music in the background. The decor is nice and I loved the fact that I was able to plug in my laptop to get some work done. I was dining alone. I ordered the trout and it was delicious. The waitress was nice and always was checking to see if I needed something. I will definitely go back.
