this place is awful. iv eaten there 3 times in the last 2 days because its close to my motel but i think i rather eat at the shell station next door. the first day here i ordered the meatloaf dinner, it was rather tasteless with some sort of bar bq topping instead of ketchup it didnt taste well at all. the nest day i tried a bacon Swiss burger sounded easy enough, wrong again. it was a pre made patty that tasted like a cardboard box. last but not least i tried the fried pork chops for dinner this same night and they where the worst of them all. the chops where dry with no taste at all and the breading was the same, thick blobby and no flavor. the 41/2 star rating on the place has got to be a fake because MC Donalds got better food and thats not saying much. heads up, the bar bq joint across the street is slightly better but if your wanting that Texas bar bq keep driving.

We picked this place the first night we got in because it was 9mins away from our hotel. They were a little slow at getting us seated, you pay at the host desk instead of at your table when we should up there was a long line of people paying out. Other then that we are outta towners so it was so cool when we found out its byob! Literally walked to the gas station and walked back with our beer and they had cups ready for us! Service was southern sweet very polite and nice. Meatloaf was utterly amazing piping hot and moist. My bf had there liver and that was good to. There spear pickles were delicious as well, but I prefer the spears over slices. Fried okra was good, along with there sweet potato casserole. Mac n cheese was a little to watery for my liking. All and all check em out.

Yum, yum, yum!!! Let my review be one you pay attention to - I was born and raised in "the sticks". All of my family is in southern Alabama, and my hometown has a population less than 1k. My parents have a few acres of nothing but vegetables, so I know what fresh and delicious veggies taste like. Needless to say..Im extremely picky when it comes to my veggies, but WOW, this place surprised me. I have been to countless southern restaurants who brag about their cooking, but Ive never been impressed. This place, however... You HAVE to try the green beans, the mashed potatoes, corn..everything I had was fantastic. The staff is super friendly and sweet, and the prices arent bad either. I already cant wait to come back, and I definitely will be writing home about this place!

Stopped in based on the reviews. It was a little before 4pm on a Tuesday and although it wasnt packed, it was fairly busy for that time of day. The atmosphere is rustic and inviting. The staff was friendly. My server said the fried chicken takes awhile, but I went with it and asked which sides are homemade. Of those choices (and there were several) I ordered mashed potatoes & gravy, cabbage and ordered the sweet potato casserole to go as well as yeast rolls. It did take upwards of 25 min to get my food (remember, Id been warned) and it was well worth the wait. Generous portions of hot, fresh and flavorful food. Its not fast, but its worth the time if youre looking for a break from the road.

Stopped here 5 years ago and it was so memorable we had to stop again next time we drove that way (we live 500 miles away) it was just as good as I remembered! The pork chops are grilled to perfection, the sweet potato casserole is heavenly, and the cabbage has more bacon in it than leaves! The only thing Id advise against is the chicken and dumplings. The chicken is amazingly tender and the dumplings have good consistency, but they use lemon in the sauce and I found it to be too much. Great food, friendly service, youll be glad you stopped! I just hope it isnt 5 years before were back again!

So happy we stopped in to try out. Lunch was amazing! I had catfish dinner (ordered the whole because I love it that way). Sides were amazing Cole slaw, I had fires and the best turnip greens I have eaten in my life. For anyone on gluten sensitivity diet, catfish is breaded in corn meal only. I didnt eat hush puppies, figured they had flour in the mix. David had country fried with mashed potatoes, fried okra, and turnip greens. He loved it. Said it was as good as if not better than Cracker Barrel. We will definitely be stopping there again. Great service! Really enjoyed!

I told the waitress that I was flipping a coin between shrimp alfredo and pork chops. She didnt hesitate to suggest the pork chops. Total home run. They were delicious. Generally at home Ill order a third pork chop ala carte. It wasnt necessary. Im stuffed. I told her I wanted a decaffeinated soda, a root beer. She went and looked it up and found out that IBC root beer has caffeine in it. Wow! Thats service. I overheard another customer saying that hes been there quite a few times and everything on the menu is good. I cant wait to come back.

Traveling on a rainy night off of I-40, used our GPS to locate a restaurant. We were so happy to read reviews and now I want to add one. The Log Cabin is wonderful! Large portions, fast refills on beverages, great friendly service! We dined like kings yet the bill was very affordable. Beef barley soup with huge chunks of beef! Generous helpings of beef, ham, fried chicken livers and steak, All of us took some food to go! Well stop there again without a doubt! Dont pass it up if youre looking for a place to dine.

I was traveling through the area looking for a local place to sit down for lunch. This place did not disappoint. I got their lunch special which was pretty incredible food for an excellent price. All three sides were excellent and I couldnt have asked for better food. The atmosphere was really comfortable and relaxed. The only complaint would be the smell, it reminded me somewhat of a retirement home. But in spite of that i think I would certainly consider going back if I was in the area again looking for food.

We had a horrible experience 05/03/16 while waiting for breakfast. There were two mice playing in the gas fireplace! We told two waitresses and one stated they have sticky mice traps and that there have been no mice caught. (!!!@@@$$$??) The second waitress explained she " isnt from around here". A few minutes later one mouse reappeared and scurried into the kitchen area! At checkout the cashier/waitress was reminded of the mice and she commented nonchalantly "wereally trying to do something." #DISGUSTING

Some of the best down home, mom-and-pop style country cooking you will ever have! The decor inside is rustic and sweet. Wooden tables in a small town with really sweet employees taking care of you. I stopped here on my way to Memphis from Nashville, and had a country ham breakfast with eggs and grits. The biscuits that came with it were huge and flaky buttery. The young lady was very sweet and I would highly recommend this place to anybody traveling through here!

Wonderful fried chicken, ribs, rolls, sweet potatoes -you name it -it was all great and my wife and I shared some of each -we both were impressed with all of the food including the sides! We purchased some great tasting rhubarb jam on the way out as well! Service was great and as mentioned in an earlier post, very much kid friendly as well. NO complaints, just raves! No room for the delicious looking pecan pie, unfortunately, but next time for sure!
