All I have to say is if you need to eat gluten-free like me, dont trust this place. Theyre backwards from other places because they do understand about cross-contamination, so they say, but they do not know which of their ingredients are or are not gluten-free. They told me all the salads were gluten-free, and I asked "even the ones with fried chicken"? And she said, "oh no, not those ones. " Ok, glad I asked. So I asked " is the spinach strawberry salad gluten free"? She replied "yes". I asked "are you positive, can you ask the manager"? So she asked one of the managers and he said yes. So, I brought all the food back to my family and we say down to eat. Then, I bit one of the walnuts and realized its a candy walnut. In my experience, candied walnuts are never gluten-free. Im pregnant right now and dont want to take any chances so I called and asked a third time if the salad was gluten-free. Except this time I asked specifically about the walnuts. He said "no, they are not gluten-free. " I was like what the hell! !? Are you serious? So happy I asked the same question a third time. It was laziness. All the employees should be trained to look up ingredients before responded to customers. Especially when the customer tells you straight up that it is a very serious allergy. Bottom line is they dont yet understand how serious these allergies are and I think they assume certain ingredients are gluten-free , maybe things like mustard, mayo, relish. ...etc. EVERY ingredient needs to be researched before you go telling people its gluten-free, but thx anyway for trying. The manager offered me my money back but thats not what was important to me. I was just angry, but so relieved that I avoided getting real sick by eating the salad. My friends really like the food though. Its all good if you dont have celiac. What a tease to think there was a place I could safly eat gluten-free in the neighborhood, only to have that come crushing down. Every time I get glutened, it deteriorates my gut and brings me closer to death. Not an issue to be taken lightly.

Ive only been here twice and both times were an unfortunate disappointment. I was not content the first time b/c the beef was sort of cool, (cooler than room tempature) and barely had meat or cheese on it(cheese was also not melted). So I decided to try them again today (a couple months later) and got a larger beef(10") plus cheddar and mozzarella cheese, assuming that there would be more meat and cheese since the sandwich would be bigger and since I ordered two cheeses. I WAS WRONG. I had more hot peppers than meat(cheese was not melted once again) and the pepsi was the only part of the $15 meal that I enjoyed. I wont go as far as to say that you shouldnt order from here BUT I REALLY WOULDNT RECOMMEND THE BEEF. Maybe the burgers are better, but needless to say, I may not be back to try them.

I was really pleased with the service. I ordered something based on the websites nutrition but when I received my food it was clear that the nutrtional info was wrong. 1 of the girls noticed that I was uneasy & took care of me. She called the manager, the manager came and brought me a book with the nutritional info & allowed me to change my order to something that I could eat. Thats the kind of costumer service that makes you want to go back to a restaurant. Its not a 5 because the restaurants website shows the wrong nutritional info & based on the book the manager showed me. .....I can only eat 1 thing from their menu

Really nice interior and exterior. Custom service is top notch and friendly. Most importantly, their drive through has better timing than any other fast food restaurant in the city. From ordering to actually receiving your food averages from 3 to 4 minutes. Its like 8 to 12 at the other restaurants. I must also add that their shakes are also way better than other fast food chains as well as their fries. They are always hot and crispy, not stale and dry like most of those other places. Shakes come in 4 flavors and each are equally delicious in their unique way.

Visiting Chicago and we got Buona for dinner. Not much for vegetarians, but the salad I got - strawberry spinach - was nice and had a delicious dressing. The kids pizzas were tasty, and my parents loved the beef sandwiches they got. There is a drive-thru to pay and then you pull around and wait for them to bring it outside. There is also a dining room. Overall, its worth a try.

Best manager ever! We went to Buona for the first time tonight and were completely blown away by the food but even more by the service! The manager was literally the BEST manager weve ever come across. His name was Nazal and he went above and beyond to make sure me and my hubby had a great experience there. Amazing good, extraordinary service, you have to check it out!!!

My family just had their first Buona Beef sandwiches. We went through the drive thru, no wait and the sandwiches were delicious. However, we did order a salad and the dressing was left off, no napkins and a menu wasnt given (didnt ask for 1, but its always,a nice touch when youre new to the neighborhood ). We will definitely be back!

Went there for the first time tonight. Not only is the food good but Nazal M., the manager answered all our questions about menu items, made recommendations, told us about the Buona card and basically made our dine-in experience a really great one. We definitely will be going back! PS - the chicken salad is some kind of wonderful!

Love, love, love Buona Beef! This location is great because its so new. Love all the options on the menu. I always get the grilled chicken sandwich with a Caesar salad or the pizza. Food tastes great and is made to order. Ive never gotten any bad/wrong food from here. Pretty good amount of food for its cost, too!

Buona is the best beef in Chicago besides Johnnies on North Ave , but the stores are super clean and have a nice selection of other options (unlike Johnnies). This store is new and most other sandwiches and salads are terrific. Try the lemon cookie shake in the summer, and make it a Rizzo.

Great service, superb quality food, and even better prices. Cosy family environment. The wait staff are very attentive. Food seasoned to perfection, so you dont even need to add condiments if you dont want to. Love the options for kids especially. Great job.

A little trouble with simple request, like after having a beef double baptised and asking can it be put in a plastic container and it takes 3 people to get this request done, ending with the manager doing it and apologizing for the hassle. But the food is A1.

The beef is wonderful and the staff is attentive, but I had a bad experience with the grilled chicken sandwiches. I ordered the avocado Jack sandwhich once and it was great, the next two times the sandwiches were sloppy and the chicken was rubbery.

Real Chicago Italian Beefs, eaten by real chicago people, are not from here. The owners harass employees and assault them for having a voice. Do yourself a favor and go to Portillos or elsewhere for true Chicago Italian Beefs!
