This place is a little hidden gem. I stopped in for a coffee one morning and fell in love with the shop. The decor is super cute and funky. A mix of old stoves with a twist of some amazing modern artwork. A good cup of coffee and an AMAZING breakfast sandwich. It was a perfect balance of all the basic ingredients with a fiery kick from from the red pepper sauce. So delicious! Not only do they serve great coffee and food they are also doing something extremely worthwhile in the community. I inquired if they made all of there own pastries (because I am a baker myself) and the head chef told me yes and began to tell me about there program to support and guide homeless and at risk youth in the world of culinary. Its an amazing program and makes me what to go there every day. It truly warms my heart and inspires me to see such a great place helping the youth of Chicago. I look forward to supporting this kind of program once I open up my own place.

Can I just say - if I had a choice on where I would want to spend the day working, it would be at Blue SKy Bakery. Today is no exception! I sit, nice and toasty warm with the sunny cold weather visible as I work. I am having a delicious cup of cappucino and a delectible homemade granola with yogurt and fruit. On top of it all, the owner hires people who are happy to help and serve me. They are extremely nice and bring the food ordered to my table. The decor is of used furniture and old stoves. You can always smell the wonderful baked good baking. Today, they have chunks of their brownies to taste. Fresh flowers on the table. Where else would I want to work?

My wife wanted to visit based on the other reviews, weve been to bakeries around the world and its middle of the pack at best, nothing special. People are nice and flavours are pretty good, Its grandmas cooking but very basic baking, not much selection and no decor... Also didnt hear any music at all let alone great music.
