3 stars is being generous. We decided to try a new place (Mandarin bistro is our favorite) Before this was named China star it used to be another name and further down shick on the east side of Bloomingdale Rd. When it was in that location the food was better. So maybe chefs or owners changed? But the food isnt the same anymore. And I wish we read the reviews before trying China star.... Mongolian beef was not good. Beef wasnt good and the dish didnt even have any type of sauce youd associate with a Mongolian beef dish. Very little beef and a TON of onion. Overall, just no flavor. The Mrs. Got beef and broccoli which she didnt like. Again, bland flavor. She had a few bites and wound up throwing most of it away. Pot stickers were OK. And crab Rangoon were OK. And like others have commented, the underage child working the registor was odd to see. Not sure how theyre getting away with that in this day and age. There are far better Chinese places in the area. We will not be going back.

Wow I should have believed the reviews. Yes its bland, tasteless. The moo goo gai pan tasted old and tasteless. The Phoenix and dragon was sweet, needed salt. Im sure if it was general tso chicken in there could have been just batter fried chicken with some sweet sauce. Pot stickers were the ones you get from grocery store. So they were ok, just overpriced. Crab Rangoon was just cream cheese with some sugar. No crab. Also had another dish, again just sweet. Someone in there had a sweet tooth. Ill never be back. Still searching for some good take out Chinese locally.....

Disappointed and surprised reviews were correct! Decided to try this chinese restaurant despite the reviews. Got the Shrimp Fried Rice and it looked like a super light color of fried rice..like they went cheap on the soy sauce..they didnt even have bean sprouts or chives..what in the world....plus the shrimp didnt look cooked all the way. Very upset I wasted the gas and $$$$

Ive been ordering here for 2 years, I normally use grub hub but today I ordered by phone. This place is awesome. The best Chinese food in the burbs by far. Just like most places Ive had my hits and misses with them on some of their menu items but their food overall is so good! I love this place so much.

I ordered the chicken lo mein, beef and broccoli, and some pot stickers. Everything turned out tasty. Exactly what I was expecting in my food. It took an hour from order time to get to my door step but wasnt expecting anything different. It is safe to say that this place earned a return customer

If I cant I give a minus 100 Stars. I order chicken fried rice guess what I got boiled rice chicken. Arise & Chicken taste horrible. I never ate worst foods chicken rice in my life. I personally suggest stay away from this restaurant. And again stay away far away from this restaurant.

I ordered a orange chicken and when I took a bite I got a big long hair in my food, I called them and complained and they sent me another of the same kind. But then my son from the new batch also found a hair in his when he ate a bite of his. Not a happy costumer at all.

Might be the blandest Chinese food around. Almost no flavor to the fried rice, no seasoning on any of the steak. Nice, friendly service, but not worth the trade off for sub-par food.

Absolutely phenomenal food here, I havent had anything from them I didnt like and Ive tried more than half the menu. My favorite by far is any of the lo mein and the egg drop soup.
