First and foremost: The food here is very good and tops every BBQ place in the area! We have eaten here several times and each time we find something great! The sides are phenomenal; especially the potato salad, the pit-smoked beans and now they have green beans that are awesome!!! Also, they have crafted several special items that are sure to tickle your fancy. Weve had several of the meals and always get a great value for the money (if you are a cheapskate or a whiner, I dont think this place is for you). Unless you have the stomach of a toddler, I suggest you start off with at least the LARGE plate; definitely worth the price! Secondly, the seating is just right for this kind of food; its like having a picnic indoors (or outdoors if you prefer). However, if you have a "boney" butt, you might want to wear an extra layer in the seat area. Lastly, the owners of this place really have your dining experience at the forefront of their minds. They have created 6 signature sauces, each with its own unique flavor and level of heat (I like the Happy Hop). They are always really friendly and will gladly take the time to explain their offerings to you. I encourage you to visit!

I normally wait until I have had a chance to try a place more than once before posting a review to even things out a bit. I live close by so I have eaten here about 8-10 times so far. The good: The sauces are well balanced and creative. The ribs are rubbed with a nice rub and have a good crust and noticeable smoke ring. The beans are the best I have ever had - even mine. The burnt ends are very tasty. The salad with BBQ meat was very filling and tasted great. The people working are friendly and seem to care about your meal. The bad: Nothing bad. What I would like to see improved: Add a vinegar based "moping" sauce. More comfortable seating, although I dont know what you could do given the inside space setup. Over all I love the place and I think it is one of the best BBQ joints in town currently. Cheap? No. But I have never left hungry, often left with left overs and always felt that good value was given for the money spent. I wish you could post pictures here, as I have one of their "BBQ Sushi" - an off menu special they ran for a while that was very creative. -- Joe Ruder

The food at Righteous Pig BBQ was very good, I had half slab of ribs and the pig snout. My husband had the pork sandwich along with 2 sides baked beans and macaroni and cheese. I absolutely loved that the ribs came dry you can add your own sauce they had 3 selections which were all excellent. The pig snout tasted like pork grinds, it was a first for me trying these it came with BBQ sauce on it which was barely warm. I will most likely try them again but without the BBQ sauce. The service was excellent, the lady at the register that took or order came over after we were seated and explain each sauce to us and how it was made.

I love this place! I literally live within walking distance of three different BBQ spots in Belleville and this place is the absolute best. The Cuban sandwich is magical, the ribs are fantastic... Ive yet to have anything there at Righteous Pig that I didnt like. They make awesome sides and they offer up new things Ive never seen before and thats a lot of fun. During the summer they make vanilla lemonade that is just about the best thing ever. The folks there are friendly and fun and they get to know you and I really like that. Go get you some Pig!!!

Fantastic BBQ with unique offerings I did not expect! Ribs are consistently plump and flavorful, never "rib-jerky" that you can get stuck with at other places. Ribs come delicious with no sauce but theyve got two amazing sauces Ive never seen anywhere else; the Righteous Pig signature sauce made with apple butter, and the Happy Hop (named for their team-up with the store next door) that tastes of stout beer and bacon. So good! Their smoked tuna salad is incredible, potato salad was excellent, pork belly pastrami... I could go on!

Been here 3 times. The food was absolutely great in my opinion each time, but i watched a waitress run down the sidewalk to track down a down a customer who left his hat...its people that make you fall in love with a place and this place seems to be doing it right. Each time Ive had a different great encounter. They have 4+ (maybe 6) different sauces which is just a good time trying them all out. Little pricey but its local, fresh, and worth it in my opinion. You wont be disappointed.

Horrible lunch and I will never eat there again!! Too damn high for the little amount of meat provided on the sandwich. I expect to be full for at least 2 or 3 hours paying 8 dollars for a lunch but I wasnt. How do you serve sandwiches on untoasted buns and your a restaurant? Oh yea the pulled pork was cold. The potato salad was the best out of everything, not to mention the super sweet applesauce. I doubt if they will be around long honestly!

I may say Im I incredibly judgmental when it comes to Cuban sandwiches, but this place has the best one around! Amazing homemade food including pickles pickled in the restaurant and potato salad, cole slaw, delicious green beans and sweet tea and special vanilla lemonade thats out of this world. True southern hospitality makes for great service. 6/5 stars!! Already recommended multiple times!!!

Good BBQ joint, but there are so many better ones around here. I think the beast and salt + smoke are better. But the pig is still pretty good. Their brisket is good, but shaved (like roast beef) rather than cut into slices. My wife loves the potato salad since its made with sour cream instead of mayo. I like the ribs best at this place. My kids love the chicken.

This food is so phenomenal. Not pricey, and they dont skimp on the portions either. The service is always positive and friendly, and even though I live all the way up in Wisconsin, I came back a year after my first visit with a group of my buddies. If youre in the area and need a good tasty dinner, say no more and go directly to the Righteous Pig.

Disappointing visit. The burnt ends were chewy, unappealing, and lacked that great BBQ/smoked flavor. The yellow fin tuna in the salad was overdone, dry, and lacked flavor. The sides werent anything to write home about, either. An extra star for the friendly staff, but that was the only positive aspect of our visit.

The staff were very pleasant and the food was amazing. The ribs were the best Ive tasted, they didnt even need sauce. The mac and cheese was a little watery, but the flavor was good. The coleslaw was very unique, it had orange and cranberry in it. All in all it was a very tasty lunch.

Every part of my meal was awesome! The sandwich, the sides, the sauce, the home made lemonade was all delicious. If I had to have one complaint it would be that while I ate there were some little flys bothering me. But other than that I would most definitely come eat here again.
