This place is fantastik, they are amazing people with incredible BBQ. A must if you are in Memphis. I was blown away. Edit - I think I was one of the first to review this place online I want to say it was 7-8 years earlier... Below is an update Summer 2016 Visit... So it was Cozy Corner that was the impetus for a summer "food" road trip with my teenage kids. I loved Cozy Corners ribs like no others... As a result I left Austin with my kids drove up to Chicago and on our way back drove out of our way to Memphis, just to take my kids to Cozy Corner. (When I initially visited them years ago I was on a business trip, so this was a first time for my kids.) Anyhow, apparently they had some fire or something that forced them to move to a new location across the street, I have to say when we entered it didnt have the same vibe and I began to get nervous... Would the ribs and their sauce live up to my memory? Were my kids going to give it a thumbs up, or call me crazy? I seriously had bragged on their food for years. Maybe the first time I visited it had been some fluke and it was just luck. Needless to say the moment of truth came when they called our number after we ordered. The ribs were insanely good. I make some of the best ribs I have ever had, but whatever magic they do to their ribs is from another elevated dimension, the sauce too. IT blows me out of the water. You are MISSING out if you are anywhere near Memphis and you dont pay them a visit. (4 months later I am updating this review, and now have myself trying to come up with an excuse to visit Memphis because I want some more!)

When I entered the restaurant, Mrs. Robinson greeted me from her post at the bench near the register. I gave my order to a boy, still in school but learning the business during his holiday break. As I sat and ate, I watched the casual banter of the man working the smoker, the man serving my food, and the man manning the kitchen in the back. I looked around and saw the banner advertising 35 ( I think) years of business, the effigy to Mr. Robinson on the wall, and the celebrities and local figures who have dined at the Cozy Corner, including Sherman Hemsley. I was overwhelmed by the amount of history that was contained within this small building on the edge of the downtown area. I was overwhelmed by the amount of family and love that was palpable as I ate. Because of an unfortunate shortage of pork, I had the lunch special of a bologna sandwich. This was a far cry from the Oscar Meyer variety that you and I grew up eating, and when smothered in their barbecue sauce, was quite the treat. But really, it didnt matter what I ate - there is bonafide love at the Cozy Corner, from the food they cook to the way its served, that leaves you envious of those who are privileged enough to consider themselves family. I guess were all family, for the short while that were eating and enjoying the family legacy that has been going on for decades and deserves to continue for so much longer,

I lived in Memphis from 1996-1998. As a native of Cleveland, Ohio which had a pretty rich BBQ tradition during my formative years, so I was always on the prowl for good ribs. One thing I discovered about Memphis is that the competition for good "Q" is pretty fierce and there are really no "bad" barbeque places in town. I sampled all the usual suspects such as Neelys, Corkys, Interstate and the Rendezvous (which I thought was the best for a long time). I discovered Cozy Corner quite by accident. One visit and I was hooked. It just happened that Jerry Lawler, the pro wrestler, was there that afternoon and he was a huge Cleveland Browns fan who literally talked my ear off. I made acquaintances with Ray Robinson and his son Ray Jr. and ended up making the trip from my home in the Hickory Hills section of town to Cozy Corner every other Saturday morning for my "rib fix". As a lifetime self-proclaimed rib connoisseur I can definitely say that IMHO Cozy Corner has, not only the best ribs in Memphis, but the absolutely best ribs Ive tasted anywhere in America. At least the places Ive visited. I lived in Birmingham, Alabama for 14 years and all I can say to those folks at Dreamland "Eat your heart out!" Im back in Cleveland now where there are a few pretty good barbeque places but I still miss Cozy Corner.

Lived in Memphis for 5 years and was privileged to eat at every BBQ joint of note in the city and surrounding area. The vast majority of Memphis BBQ is very good. But when I go back to Memphis, this little place at the corner of Manassas and North Pkwy. is the place to which my beeline leads. The folks who own and run it, the family of Mr. Robinson, the founder who passed a few years back, are very friendly and make you feel as if youre part of the family. The pork sandwich is yummy. For something different, try the sliced bologna sandwich (believe me, just order it!). And if you want to become totally addicted, partake of the cornish hens. Theyll make you spontaneous cuss, even if you dont usually use strong language. Theyre that good. Cozy Corner gets my highest recommendation, especially if you LOVE authentic BBQ. The best way for me to put it is that if you are a BBQ nut, Cozy Corner is one of those places you DEFINITELY need to visit and know about.

Terrible! Cold slaw was bland and flavorless, the "bread" was simply a slice of white bread, the corn was mushy and also flavorless, the chicken I ordered was served with ONLY a VERY flimsy plastic fork. There was zero salt or peper on the table so I was stuck trying to force flavorless food down my gullett. I wish I had ordered just a few orders of "bread" and eaten that because it was the ONLY thing they couldnt screw up. The people might be nice but I HATE being constantly asked "Are you done with that" I will be done when I leave the table not when I have my fork still poised over your sad excuse for food. On top of all of this it was in a VERY SKETCHY part of town and had bars on the windows, needless to say I did not feel safe and worried for the safety of my laptop in my car outside. If you hate flavor, like bad service, and enjoy living dangerously then this place is for you. For the rest of the normal people in this world STEER CLEAR!

I dont get to Memphis much these days so I knew what my first stop was going to be. Straight from the airport to Cozy Corner. Its just as friendly as always with the some of the nicest people in the food business. I was only in town for a few days so I made sure I had an appetite and got a cornish hen, half slab of ribs and some ends. It took me a while to work my way through all that so I got to hear some great Memphis music and watch the cassette tape get turned in the process. This is the real deal folks, with attention to every detail. I wish I could have saved room for the homemade banana pudding and sweet potato pie but was too stuffed from 3 of the best plates of Memphiss best pit cooked food! If you find yourself in Memphis do yourself a favor and pay a visit to the Cozy Corner. You wont be disapointed!
