The original John Boys was better. NOT Impressed at all. Wait staff disciplined my son on how to properly handle a cone and soft serve so as to not be unsanitary...who the heck....meanwhile no paper on the cones (how sanitary is that) and then she proceeded to fill salad bar with NO GLOVES! The nerve of her trying to tell someone how to be clean! Had GAS all night! Smh The only pleasurable part was the one familiar face from John Boys holding it together. Missed out on seeing the other familiar face (they said she worked days) cuz Im NeVeR GoInG BaCk to that joint again. I sure hate that. It was pretty bad. I bought my family, my friends family, and my parents. Oh The Jello...I dont even know what that was...had powdery substance on top layer...The chicken... Im a vegetarian, but I can cook chicken! The fish was soft. The cabbage was BIG. The rolls were hard. The Sweet Potatoes, corn, green beans, macncheese, potatoes all looked processed and tasted as such. I ate because I was being charged $9... #NeverAgain Sorry I guess that waitress pushed the wrong button. #ShouldveBeenTheFamiarFace #HappyEating

Location used to be Johnboys Home Cooking, and to their credit two excellent members of the Johnboys staff are back, making the place feel welcoming and homey. Now that M&Js has been open a while, theyve worked out some of the kinks, and we can recommend eating here. The food is good. Easily better than any nearby buffet place, including Golden Corral. That said, management has made some bizarre decisions, like removing the kitchen door -- which significantly raises the noise level in the dining room -- and installing what I can only describe as hospital-grade LED ceiling lights around the buffet. These changes dont make your dining experience better or more relaxing. Theyve also reduced the variety on the hot buffet. No more wings, for example. BUT. The service alone makes up for any shortcomings, and you cant find another restaurant locally that offers real Southern food with service this good, regardless of price.

Ate here tonight, March 7. 2017. It was okay but not as good as John Boys that used to be at this location. Some of the food was pretty bland. The sweet potatoes are straight out of the can and heated up. The only thing that was good was the fried chicken. Other than that, eh..... probably wont be back. I didnt leave with a feeling of "I enjoyed that". And $9.00 was a bit steep for what they offered.

The lead waitress is horrible. She has such a nasty attitude. Speaks very hateful to some patrons. I did notice not to everyone. She acts as if she doesnt want to work there. Very unhappy individual. When shes there she ruins my meal. Friday catfish is very good! Fried chicken is good also. But the CUSTOMER SERVICE at this place is nonexistent!! Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else!!!!!!!

Sorry, but I was not impressed by this establishment at all. The food was Bland. Yes, everything I ate. Ive never seen fried chicken cooked like this. No taste, bland. Cabbage wasnt cut to edible sizes. I could go on, but I will digress with this...the sweet tea was the best thing I had. First and last visit. The name should not be "Country" Buffet because most.... folks from the country can cook.

Take out plate is cheeper than sitting down. Even still, its only 8.50 to eat in. You get more for the same price as a KFC meal. Their chicken is soooo worth it!
