A lot of show, not much taste. The restaurant is based on Japanese cuisine with tapas as its speciality. Décor wise, everything is modern and decked out nicely. The design of the restaurant is by far the most appealing part of the place. Seating is spread out throughout and you have options from booths, single tables, and bar seating. The menu is diverse with most options being based on traditional Japanese cuisine. Most dishes are tapas so dont expect huge portions out of any of them. They have options for several different sushi rolls as well. Drink menu too with tons of options. The staff here is favorable. They do a good job of attending to your needs and check up on you enough without being too invasive. Also they validate parking if you chose the parking deck. The food is my only gripe about the Doraku. Taste wise most of the dishes were okay and some were even bland. Something not expected with the prices they were charging for some of the items. Cant tell if it was an off night but really as a first impression. Overall, this place is average. Shame since its in such a nice area and the quality doesnt really match the great atmosphere that Doraku presents.

Dynamic. Great menu and enjoyed the ambiance. A sushi menu with some creative twist. Cocktails were balanced and the servers are well versed in the menu. Decor is a modern yet still true to an Asian feel. Worth a return visit. Tokyo mule was a nice twist on the Moscow mule. Duck and salmon were perfectly presented and and prepared. The Duraku roll was a filling menagerie of flavors that did not require any soy sauce masking. Nice find for a laid back upscale sushi experience

I absolutely LOVED this place! Great place to go for a date or as a group of friends. They have a colorful menu. Its actually quite hard to choose what you want to get because everything just sounds so good. I definitely recommend the Red Dragon Roll though. That dish was the highlight of my night. It was so delicious. The servers are awesome. The ambience is perfect. Ignore the bad reviews, their sushi is fantastic! Will definitely be coming back if Im in town.

My favorite sushi in the neighborhood! They have a wide selection of Doraku Izakaya and Sushi rolls, and the quality has always been good in my experience. Prices are average and Id expect to pay $20 for a full dinner. The ambiance is nice and comfortable too, not a hole in the wall like a lot of sushi places. If you have enough orders, you can also get delivery which is a really convenient option.

This is the best sushi in town. They have a chain in Miami and this one does not disappoint. Love the red dragon roll. Joel is the best waiter ever. The atmosphere is great for a date or for group of friends. Very friendly staff and very classy. Im a big sushi critic and if you trust me youll like it here. I rarely post reviews but I felt like I had to for Doraku. I go there about once a week.

Terrible food all around. No self respecting Japanese should ever come here. Unfortunately, this is only one open for lunch on Sundays. None of the neta(pieces of fish to put on nigiri) were fresh. Cooked cod was not fresh. Anyone who gave more than one star truly have no idea about Japanese food. Ive had better sushi from Publix or Sprouts. Way overpriced to top that off.

Hands down the best Brussel sprouts I have ever eaten. I know most people dont like Brussel sprouts, but if you do, make sure you order. Sushi rolls were very good. Service was acceptable. Over all, very pleasant experience. By the way, my girlfriend ordered soup next door at Qung Mu, and ate it at this restaurant no problem. Both restaurants owed by same person

I cant believe this restaurant makes any list. Their service is fine, but about the food, below average quality that reminds me of Ru Sans. I wouldnt risk my stomach on this one...unless ownership or chefs have changed since the Summer of 2016, I would stay away. Dont let the pretentious location fool you. Doraku offers overpriced, low quality sushi.

Best modern Japanese food in Atlanta, at really affordable prices, especially at happy hour which goes until 8pm (if I recall correctly). Everything we tried was a pleasant surprise. The drinks and sake menu are also great and the service is very friendly - the decor and background music also fantastic. Will be back again and again!

Nice little sushi restaurant in walking distance in downtown. The first thing I want to talk about is the service , they will greet you at the door and have receded as fast as they can. Your meal will be out in about 15 minutes depending how busy it is. The price is the average price anywhere from 8 to $9 for a roll.

I made a reservation the day before, leaving my name and phone number. My entire party and I showed up to a closed restaurant. They randomly shut down the restaurant without the having the due diligence to call all reservations. No way to run a business. Bad service.

Verry bad service!! I call in to make a reservations for 8:30 pm. I was told they will have a table for me. We arrive at 8:30 pm only to be told that they have private party.. and that we could use their sister place 2 door down.

I wouldnt recommend this place to any athlete, sport player or anyone that is really hungry. I left more hungry that when I arrived. Portions are extremely expensive (I spent 25+) and very small. Not coming back...

This is a heavily modified what it seems to be aiming for Japanese food. Soy sauce is rotten and no authentic menu is available. Nice American fast food store if you dont think its a Japanese restaurant.

Overpriced sushi that was average, at best -- and the happy hour sushi choices were filled with cheap ingredients like diced tuna meat, not a single piece of meat that you would expect to find in a roll.

Some of the best sushi and sake Ive ever had. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely tentative to anything you need. Ill definitely be back the next time Im in Atlanta.

Super friendly service and nice setting. The sweet and sour edamame was really great, but the godzilla roll wasnt nearly as good as most other (cheaper) godzilla rolls Ive had.

Flavorful menu items at convenient prices and with a friendly service. The sautéed Brussel sprouts and lotus chips appetizers are super delicious.

The seafood poke donburi is pretty good, but a bit too much sauce. Daily happy hour.
