Locals flock here for a reason: the crew is friendly, the vibe is homey, and the pizza is better than it has a right to be. The Avondale Avalanche -- their version of s kitchen sink pizza -- is about as flavorful as youll find in town. Crusts are reasonably tight and crisp, and toppings immediately remind us of similar pies on sale in New York City. So: grab some friends, grab the parmesan cheese shaker from your table, order a Blue Moon beer, and have a slice. (Tip: for mysterious reasons known only to chemists and physicists, the Avondale Avalanche tastes better when ordered as a pie, not a slice, so keep this in mind.)

Walked in (sat myself ) kinda packed. Seem very FRIENDLY! YET after about sitting near the cash register for about 5 min not 1 person spoke to me! Gets its my glasses. Finally a woman came over to simply see what I liked. Which I order the spaghetti. (Dry). Also LITE RANCH DRESSING 4 MY SALAD.. guess I need to lose some weight. Dont want to forget I did have to ask for a folk to even eat my salad... o well I can go on but Im not here to bash.... I felt unwanted and Im sure I can feel wanted somewhere else.

This is my favorite place to go for pizza and I am a pizza fanatic. Its not a chain and the quality of the pizza and the waitstaff reflect that. The dough is the perfect consistency of chewy and crispy without being too thick or thin. I also love Triva night there are Tuesdays. Im a bit sad of the upcoming move as the current building has a lot of charm to it but Im excited about the larger space and new bar area. See you at the new place!

Im giving it 2 stars today because of the courteous cashier. The boys in the kitchen, slopping food around. Salad was completely withered and I dont eat food I send back so I watched them and low and behold... I caught OE of the guys picking the chicken up from the first salad of withered old lettuce up and putting it on the new bed of spinach. Naaaa Ill pass. Gimme my money back. I love them usually, but today...lesson learned.

Such a very cool place with great employees. Theres a pizza place on one side and a separate bar area with booths on the other. I dont know if its frequent, but Ive seen live music in there a time or two. And theres a couple tables outside for the smokers. I like their pizza and the salads a lot. I normally get a slice of the Avalanche and a Greek salad. They make this creamy Cesar type dressing in-house. Its WONDERFUL.

A $1.99 slice of New York, yes please. The place is nice, the staff is nice, and the pizza is so good. The mushrooms were not cooked before they where put on the pizza (they were cooked in the oven with the pizza) so I wasnt into them as much but they were fresh and that counts for a lot. I will be back and I will bring more people with and I have already started telling people about this place.

Gotta love that homemade sauce. Im not a pizza scholar, but I do know that this is some of the best homemade sauce thats ever hit my lips. It takes a lot for a fat kid to boast that. The prices cant be beat, they obviously know good quality food doesnt have to break the bank. And the homemade pretzels....oh those soft, garlicky, buttery pretzels. Screw it, im going there now...

I ordered a calzone that was tasty, fresh, and baked to golden brown. I rated low because of the size. It was great for the price but not what I expected. Most calzones are thick and this was flat. It was a folded pizza. I was expecting a braided side that can be eatin like dough bites and bubbly in the middle. I probably need portion control. lol

This is a very casual and friendly spot. They have a bar side and a more family friendly side. Good pizza. It used to be a favorite place for a veggie burger, but they just changed the tour of veggie burger they serve and it is not a winner. We wont be eating those again.

So now after having wings at the pizza place I had an Angus burger at the pizza place. Wife thought my choice was stupid. Whatever, it was on the menu and fantastic. She is the Italian, not me. And you MUST always finish with the Zeppoles. Your mouth will thank you.

Love this place! Closest to authentic NY style pizza youre going to find in Atlanta. Delicious! Sometimes, I dine-in. Usually, I call ahead and pick up my order. This place gets pretty busy. But its worth the wait. Unfortunately, too many dont exercise patience.

Always a consistent pizza here. I usually have a slice of Avondale Avalanche and I am never disappointed. Our waitress was friendly and attentive enough not to be intrusive. Would return for lunch again. The price was below what the area averages.

They changed the veggie burger The new one has no taste ! After a young new waitress was rude to me I asked to speak to a manager and the cook came to talk to me he didnt seem to concerned I was eating lunch there 2-3 times a week No more !

The manager is very attentive. He remembers his regulars and remembers our special requests to the point that we dont have to tell him "to the side", "extra" or "everything except". We call it The Spot because its our spot!

Great food, service, ambience and bar. One side is for families with kids and the other (OKeefes) for grownups although you can sit anywhere. Great ADA access. A local landmark worthy of the title.

Dont count on being served when theres a party present. My party of 4 (and 2 others) waited more than an hour for 2 medium pizzas. Their only focus is on the parties.
