Horrible service and servers. Wanted fresh entrees and not ones sitting on the hot plate. Ordered, sat down for 45 mins and had to go back to the cashier to get the order. When we started to eat, the center of the dish was cold. Really?? This place has always had spotty service - most of the servers could care less to be there. The only reason we came back was the dishes have tasted good and were delicious. But the service and people skills have always be lackluster as best. Likely we wont ever be back to this location. The perimeter location is much better and has friendly professional staff. Update (4/24/2017) - now that I have had time to reflect upon my experience, I should say that some of the staff are indeed professional and attentiveness. This feels to me like a management issue regarding training and perhaps hiring practices. Lets face it, not all folks (myself included) are cut out for the food service industry. You can never get rattled at a Customer and must always put them first in your interactions. It can make all the difference. I submitted a complaint via the corporate web site "contact us" form - lets see what kind of a response I get there. The other two locations we have visited over the years, we have never had the kind of inconsistent service as we have experienced at this location. Come on folks, get this fixed and we will return!

Had a Groupon so I took my mother to breakfast at La Madeleine in Buford. We started with a potato thingy that looks like a flat round hash brown with extra onions and stuff in it. That was very tasty. I dont have the exact names of what we ate because in this particular establishment you have to look at the menu before you go through the line to place your order. This is a downside to me because when I go into a restaurant I like to sit at a table and be waited on. We both had their version of eggs benedict, Parisian-style. It is a croissant topped with ham, bacon poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Different from the typical eggs benedict that Im used to eating, but it also was very good. Word of warning here: if you go here to try this bring your own steak knife because all they have available are butter knives and its very tough to cut through the croissants at the bottom. Not because theyre bad, its just the nature of the type of food and the way its built. They have urns of help yourself coffee, light medium and dark roast which I really like. Some of their other breakfast items include meat filled pastries and quiches that look good enough for me to come back and try.

Nearly empty food took forever and after waiting about 25 minutes I was asked to wait another 20 because one of the breakfast items that came with my plate was not ready. Then they said we could substitute that item for a fruit tart, Wich my husband and I agreed to. They ended up giving up chocolate tarts which we dont particularly enjoy. The girl that was suppose to prepare my double Latte was just standing around for like 20 minutes and I had to go to the register and ask when I could have my coffee since is morning time and we have been just waiting for no reason she had no other customer. On top of that next to us was a couple that had also been waiting for their order for about the same amount of time , when their food was arriving the server SNEEZED on top of their breakfast. They were so grossed out they left without eating. This place needs to get it together.

On two different occasions my wife and I found the soups and entrees were at best lukewarm. There was no manager present, but I advised the cashier to let management know. More recently (Thursday the 29th) and more disturbing - was a panhandler who entered the restaurant, declared "You people need to listen to me!" and proceeded to tell everyone his car had broken down at the nearby QuickTrip (there isnt one near this location) and that he needed money to get back to Cobb county. Then he went around collecting from those who would give him money. He was seen afterward getting into a car and driving away. This was basically a non-violent robbery. The police should have been called and he should have been arrested. Instead, management of this restaurant allowed a threatening situation to play itself out.

Absolutely worst experience of my entire life (and Ive been through a lot). I oredered two items from the menu to be informed that the items werent available at the time but would be in 30 minutes. After settling for something different (that I didnt really want), I realized that I should have ordered 3 of these items because their portions are so small. This may have been my mistake, I assumed when you spend $8 on a breakfast croissant you will get enough to somewhat hold you over until lunch. Not the case. So my advice, ask them what IS available on the menu before ordering and go ahead and order 2-3 if you want to be satisfied. Or come here after youve already eaten, pre-mealing if you will.

I have been to this location twice now. Both times were bad experiences. The wait staff is rude or at least raciest. Black customers get much better/nicer service than white customers. I saw this on both visits. The food was also not good both visits. 1st visit I had Beef Bourguignon. It was the worst Beef Bourguignon I have ever had. It was flavorless. The 2nd time I went for breakfast & ordered the eggs benedict. The eggs came out like a hardboiled egg. I had to send it back. When I did, I got attitude from the waitress. Last but not least the women running the registers don’t listen! I will NOT be going back and I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!

We ate a late dinner here over the weekend. My husband had the Croque Monsieur and I had a chicken crepe with asparagus instead of broccoli, since they were out. Both meals were delicious, as expected. No complaints there at all. Points lost: I used to frequent the many La Madeleine locations in New Orleans and so I was disappointed that this newer site was not designed with the same rustic French country decor as the older locations are. Still quaint, but not the same. My husband was extremely frustrated at the limited access from the main road. We missed the one driveway on the side and had to go out of our way to make a U-turn to try again.

As others have pointed out, confusing order system. Didnt understand how the restaurant worked, no greeting when we entered. I didnt want what looked like a buffet line. I had to interrupt staff who were talking among themselves to ask if we just seat ourselves. Their answer was yes. So we sat down and waited. When a staff member came to our table acting oddly, I asked is was wait staff. No, she brings water and clears tables. No offer to explain their odd system. We left and ate elsewhere. We wont be back, especially after reading other reviews that these folks dont know how to handle food properly. Too bad. The menu looked good.
