Let me start by saying that I have been a patron of food 101 for probably 5+ years... taking every out of town vendor for work to eat here for lunch or dinner. I took 19 people there for an early celebratory dinner at 5:30 for my husband, who just graduated from Tech. We were sat in a "private room" with another party who literally SCREAMED the entire dinner. I am not saying they were just slightly loud... They shrieked and screamed throughout the entire dinner- to the point where no one at my table could even hold a coherent conversation. I spoke to the manager who told me "I cannot tell them to be quiet. Thats the rudest thing I could do. If I told them that, they would complain, and I would lose my job. We could argue about this all night, but that wont change the fact that I cant say anything to them... Theyve been causing problems for us too." When I told him I was really dismayed that I wasnt warned ahead of time that there would be another party of 20 in a small room with us, he then proceeded to lie to my face and said "I spoke to both people who booked both parties and told them that I couldnt guarantee that the room would only be theirs." ...in reality, when I called, he asked if I wanted the private room and I told him I didnt care if we were sat in the dining room or in the private room. There was NO DISCUSSION about there being another large party. Had I known that, I wouldnt have brought our party there. The reason we chose food 101 was because its typically a reasonably quiet restaurant and the food is good. ...Not tonight. To the managers credit, he did discount our table by 25%... and our waitress was AWESOME. The scallops were SO fishy that all three people who ordered them (myself included) were complaining to each other about it. My best friends short rib was tough and dry, and with the exception of the fried green tomatoes, all of the appetizers were lackluster at the finest. None of my out of town guests were impressed, and the locals all said they would never be back based off of tonight. Food101 is no longer the place that I love, and after the TERRIBLE customer service and D+ food tonight, I will not ever be back, and will tell everyone I know to steer clear.

Food is crazy salty as in cured in salt and or pickled. As mentioned by others portion sizes are a joke. And way over priced for what you get. The atmosphere was really cool. The waitress was friendly though anyone not used to heavy accents could not understand her. Personally i enjoyed her I think Russian accent. They took awile to get drinks out. We all had water so i guess it want the end of the world waiting for out alcohol. One of our party of 12 got to sample some whiskey. It was cool of the bar manager to do that. They have some interesting food options like chicken skins for 6 bucks. Or a single piece of alvacado toast with salted salmon for 8. The 12 meatballs where soaked in vinegar and that was their spice. Yuck. Grilled cruch salad was very good. Fried green tomatoes where good. The waitresses substituted shrimp for the clams in the pasta. Wife enjoyed it minus the crazy hard salt cured sausages in the dish. The chocolate cake was very large and very very rich. It was great you just need to share it because its so much richness for one sitting. The fries that come with the sliders are great. Though the three sliders were again half the size of what you would get at burger king. Overall I expected more from a culinary standpoint for the price.

We recently visited Food 101 for a friends birthday. They were so accomodating with a change in our party size and time of reservation. When our party arrived we were promptly seated and greeted by our server, Dannette. She was very attentive to us, patient, and answered any questions we had about the menu items. I have some food restrictions and she was more than happy to make some adjustments. And speaking of the food, it was amazing!!! It is simple and clean but had big flavors! We all loved our food. Although one of my friends was a bit on the fence about her chicken dish. She ate about half of it and didnt want it to be wrapped up to take home. So Danette asked her are you sure and was something wrong. My friend said it was fine. Then Danette checked in with my friend again. And then the manager came back and asked was there something she didnt like and asked if she wanted another dish. They were really concerned about the quality of their food and the flavors and wanted to make my friend happy. They offered to take 1/2 off of her entree. Ive been to plenty of restaurants and have never received this kind of service and concern about our enjoyment. They were beyond awesome! Thanks Danette!!!

Unfortunately my experience was less than desireable. I was hosting a friend from Florida for the weekend and we chose Food 101 after searching for seafood in Sandy Springs. We selected this restaurant based on the reviews and we were quite pleased that it was local to my home. We arrived about 8 on Saturday night, and we were seated on the lovely patio. Things began to unravel as it took a very long time to place our order and even longer to be served our appetizers. Once we were served one of 2 appetizers (oysters) my guest then requested cocktail sauce. After reminding our server twice that we were waiting on this item and reminding her that my crab stuffed mushrooms had not arrived yet, finally we got the sauce. By now the oysters were no longer hot and irritation set in. I asked again for the mushrooms and when they arrived they too were cold and disgusting. They crab stuffing tasted like tuna salad. We were both very disappointed but the atmosphere on the patio was delightful and the wine was too. The manager removed the mushrooms from my bill which was very kind. Great spot but it needs some improvement on the service and quality of those mushrooms.

Went in a couple weeks ago on a Sunday at 1:30 pm. The place was half empty. I was wearing a suit and the other two I was with were dressed nice as well. We approached the hostess and a guy in his late 30s who was obviously touting the fact that he was a "manager." The first thing he said to my guest, a very professional, attractive female, was "you need to walk back outside and throw that drink away." Well, the cup was a clear small cup of water that she was drinking to take her medicine. The manager didnt need to act so rude. However, we let that go and said okay and threw away the cup. Next, we asked for a table of three. The "manager" said it would be about an hour and a half wait since we didnt have reservations. I laughed and walked out the door. Dont go here, let the manager pound his chest for getting his first grown up job, that he will likely be fired from soon if the owner has a brain.

My "clean" appetizer plate had grease on it with crusted lettuce on it. I had crab cakes that tastes more like tuna. The string potatoes it came with was cold and soggy while the rest of the meal was hot. The food was just just. I will not order that again. I really wanted to LOVE it. That waitress was awesome! The ambiance nice! We sat on the patio and watched the sunset. The waitress brought us a fresh order of crispy potatoe strings and a complimentary piece of cake. That was very nice! The manger came over, I didnt not ask for him. He asked about our experience and gave us a $20 off our next visit. That made things right :) As I love the ambiance and music I had already made up my mind that I was coming back...but keeping my order super simple. Something today I know cant be messed up :)
