My husband and I have been going to the Buckhead Diner for years and before our son died, it was his favorite place to eat and ours too. But, the past two times we went, we were disappointed. The salmon I ordered was overdone to the point of being tough and flavorless. Aside from our waiter forgetting so much of our meal that we should have received, the food was pretty good. Since we had been before and ordered basically the same things as we had on previous visits, We knew to ask for the missing food. The experience we had today was different. The salmon was perfect, appetizers were good, drinks were good also, and we got all the food on our entree plate. But dessert was quite different. I never received what I ordered after 2 attempts from the staff. I ended up not getting dessert at al, after the disappointment. I would expect this restaurant to be more efficient and at least make amends for their mistakes. We got an apology and the wrong desserts removed from our bill, along with a soup that tasted awful. We were going to recommend this restaurant to friends, but after this experience, we will not and we will not be back for a very long time, if ever. In addition, we spend anywhere from $100,00 to $150.00 every time we visit your restaurant, so we would expect better service. We are sorry to lose this restaurant that used to be our favorite place for special occasions and a place that brought back great memories for us.

I loved this place. What a gem. When my coworkers picked it for our meeting in Buckhead, I didnt have high hopes. I cant stop thinking Waffle House vibe when you say "diner." Ha! Was I wrong! Best diner food, ever! Which explained the higher prices! I had the famous pear martini. Delicious. The lemon drop didnt do it for me. Skip that. The blue cheese chips are absolute crack, especially after two of those pear martinis. Our table devoured them! The deviled eggs and egg rolls werent stars, but they were good! And I asked for some of those mini corn potatoes to go. Dont judge me. My steak was huge and perfection. I was only able to eat half ... and I happily destroyed the other half the next day. I dont know what they put in those potatoes (by the time the menu came I was tipsy), but let me tell you, they were soooo good! Been thinking about them ever since! Our table ordered a variety of desserts. I can tell you that the coffee cake and chocolate cake were slam dunks for me, though nobody complained about any of them. Im actually not a fan of the Buckhead area. The congestion drives me nuts, but if Im ever in the area during dinner time, I would absolutely come back.

If you are familiar with Buckhead Life group and their family of restaurants, it may mot surprise you that this is one of their best. And it is my personal favorite. From 1993 to about 2005 I ate here at least once a week and more. I am surprised they did not add on a room and bath just for me. The one word, imo, that describes the food here is "trendy". The menu is interesting and gives one a wide choice from which to choose. The setting is art deco and very cool. The prices not so much. It is not cheap but it remains a see and be seen place for trendy Atlantans. The valet parking is irritating to say the least and service has been spotty in recent years. On my last visit, the service was top-notch at every point in the dinner. I highly recommend it to all and I have started going again. There is no better place to sit and drink while sampling various yummies while your spouse or girlfriend holiday shops at Phipps or Lenox. Also, this restaurant anchors the "Buckhead Life Corner" of Piedmont at East Paces. Their other restaurants Kyma and The Corner Cafe are across the streets so if you want to try one of the others, they are right there.

We were very confused by this place - valet parking for a normal sized parking lot...strange. Walked into a casual diner until we saw the host who was decked out in a suit, waiters were wearing fancy uniforms (but they were dirty, wrinkled and disheveled), and the tables were covered with nice linens. Then the smell hit - it smelled like a nursing home. I had lipstick on my glass. They forgot the kids menus. Food was mediocre at best. I got three silver dollar sized fried green tomatoes that were hard as rocks for $10. The mac n cheese tots tasted like they came out of a grocers freezer and the sauce was like Caesar dressing with blue cheese (it was supposed to be a truffle dipping sauce). My husband received an American hot dog that was just okay plus a pile of lettuce as a salad (which they forgot dressing). My kids shared grilled shrimp and mac n cheese. My son LOVES shrimp and couldnt eat more than one. They were bland, burnt and chewy. The macaroni was just okay. In a nutshell - this place is WAY over hyped and we will not visit again for sure.

I can only guess that this long-time Atlanta landmark restaurant has changed hands and I am quite sorry about it. Ive been a fan for over twenty years, but about a year ago, everything changed. There was a moldy smell as soon as we walked in. We used to be greeted by name, which I always thought was a lovely touch, but no longer. The home made chips and blue cheese was cold and soggy, although the entrees were fine. Tonight, we tried again, but nothing has improved. The cocktails were weak, again the chips were luke-warm and soggy, the smell was still there, the seared tuna salad was abysmal, our poor server was worn to a frazzle and although he did his best and was friendly, it was obvious that he has way too many table to look after. We did not complain or were in any way rude, nonetheless, as we walked out the two hosts neither smiled or said thank you. We shall not be back.

The restaurant has been known to be crowded on weekends. But the Eclipse may have deflected patrons. So the wait time was short. We should have pushed for a table, the booths are confining, and that makes it difficult to enter and exit. If someone has a physical disability a table is definitely the only option. Appetizer and Entree were good. Busboy who cleared our table, took our utensils. Then brought our Entree, but left us without utensils. Dessert that usually is heated in the microwave, which because its cake like makes it hard. We said,"Dont,"and it was still tasty. Julia our server did a great job. Tipping,is affected by the quality of the food, and the bus boys, and the server. Servers usually have to share tips with the bus boys, and possibly the bar tender, if you bring your drink with you adding it to the final bill. Not enough Rose on the wine list.

On August 8 I decided to have my birthday dinner when we arrived service was great until I found out that me and my party was stuck in the back and I could not have everyone seated together from the start it was real crazy I told her I had 20 the host then told me she could not host 20 so I cut my party but then when my guest arrived they had to seat away from me . So two of my friends return to eat and they notice that the restaurant had a party a very large party and they had the entire party seated together and they were up front in a well lit area so yes my experience with the restaurant I WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE to host a party because I was treated because of the color of my skin and I really dont appreciate the service I was given SIGNED A NOT SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
