The food is amazing. Get a Denver omelet, its amazing and Oprahs favorite there. Their Reuben is unparalleled. The prices are cheap, and service is amazingly quick for a place thats so busy all the time. We live in America, and this is a democracy. Majorities vote on things are we accept them -- so accept that the palace grill is the place to go for breakfast -- this place has more regulars than Paris Hilton, without the filth. The people have spoken. Of course, you can always go somewhere else if youre a dirty commy pinko. George, the owner, makes everyone feel like family there. From the cops who walk in for lunch, to the blackhawks players who eat there after practice, to the guys who walk in for a cup of coffee before work. He knows you by name from the first time you walk in, knows more jokes than one man should know, and will sit with you and talk for a bit if he has any time. Great place, great food, great time. Just one request -- George...remember what the object is. And dives, diners and drive throughs -- DO AN EPISODE ON THE PLACE ALREADY!!!

Taking a break from the west loop Greektown gyros scene for a second, Ive been to Palace a couple of times now, and I know Ill be back. Small diners get a huge thumbs up from me. The owner walking around checking on people is a really nice touch. The corned beef and onion omelette is really good despite sounding like something that wouldnt taste good at all. Huge portions *and* toast make it quite a hearty day starter. Club sandwiches are pretty easy to do and hard to screw up, and Palace once again does a fine job of serving lots of tasty food. Cole slaw is also pretty tasty, though it isnt particularly noteworthy or unique. The fries are a bit limp, so they get a pass in my book, but they still taste pretty good. Tables move fast; though theres a constant stream of people in and out, Ive never seen people waiting for a seat.

Came here for a breakfast date and had a pretty good time. Service was a little weird, our waitress could have been a little more attentive and seemed a little bit lost. She might have been new. Besides that the food was quite good. My date had the skillet which was pretty delicious with hash browns and eggs and bacon and peppers, but it came with american cheese slices and not a real cheese. I got the ruben sandwich and it was probably the best I have ever had. The bread was crispy and all the ingredients mixed together very well. Fries were not bad but nothing amazing. I would say their prices are a little on the higher side but they do give you a good amount of food. Also they are CASH ONLY so be prepared.

I was so shocked to see a negative review of the Palace that I am actually writing a review, something I otherwise never do. This place is beyond great! The food is fantastic, great stick-to-the-ribs, solid, delicious food. If you are a newbie to the Palace, try their fantastic Denver omelet. Or anything else - I have never had anything but excellent food there. And the staff is wonderful, friendly, sometimes with just a little bit of sass to make it fun. They have never, never, been anything but helpful and fun. My experience is in the afternoons, after a hockey workout at Johnnys across the street with my buddy.

This is a classic Chicago diner filled with Blackhawks memorabilia (signed jerseys, etc.). It gets very crowded on nights that the United Center has events, especially Hawks games. The food is solid with some surprisingly diverse options, and the french fries are really good. They have a small outdoor seating area which would be fun on a nice evening. Its a great local place to go for an affordable meal before a Hawks game, where you can hang out and chat with dozens of other fans.

From Sunday morning Church Ladies: Thank you to George, Christina and the whole Lemperis Family for your gifts to children at the Lurie Childrens Hospital. Saw you all on Windy City Live - you made these kids a little happier by granting their special wishes. YOU are extraordinary because you make everyone feel special! When it comes to delicious breakfasts, excellent staff, terrific service, and fun and laughs - you are awesome! And, Merry Christmas too!

We love stopping in here before Blackhawks games. Its cool to see everyone in their jerseys surrounded by all of the jerseys and photos of the Hawks on the walls. The omelet and burger Ive had were both great. The owner and staff have always been really nice. Its busy before games, but not a lot of waiting. For people who have never been before: its CASH ONLY. There is an ATM inside, but its probably out of your network, so plan accordingly.

The Palace Grill has the best Reuben I have ever had! I take every guest that visits Chicago to the Palace and they all say the same thing "This place is like a very large family." The owner, George Lemperis, creates such an atmosphere that makes everyone want to come back again. For the amount of food you get the price is amazing. If your in the mood for quick diner food the Palace Grill will be the place for you.

I was here with my nephew who plays hockey and this was great for him. They have hockey memorabilia all across the walls. The food is also very good and the staff is very interactive and fun. My nephew ordered Pancakes with bacon and his bacon did not show up with all of his other food, but when it came the waitress said "oh, you wanted this today?" All around a very good place to eat brunch.

I just moved around the corner from here and was really hoping this could be our "go-to" place. The service is wonderful and the fresh food is delicious, but the prices are way too high. One order of chicken tenders, extra fries and two drinks for $20 feels like $5 too much... plus tip. Im really disappointed because this place is perfect in every other way.

Ive never had a disappointment. The food is exceptional every time no matter what I order on their menu from the sandwiches to the omelettes. An added benefit is the owner George Lemperis, if there, will personally ensure you have a great experience with his friendly demeanor and gregarious personality.
