Pretty old place. Have been here for like thousand times now. Its our favorite food joint now mostly for brunch thingy. Awesome place to hang out with friends. Its open for 24 hours, so whenever feel like going out for refreshments, I visit this place. Ambiance: American casual diner. You will find all sorts of people here, and its always busy. Not classic, but cool urban ambiance. Sometimes I just go there and order a coffee or two and start sketching or gossiping. Really cool ambiance. Service: pretty awesome and consistent. Been there there for a couple of times and have mixed experiences about service. But never a bad experience. They are really happy to help you and always smiling. Take your time to order food. Sometimes we stayed there for hours even after we finished our food, just sketching. They never kicked us out, sometimes they just came and appreciated what we were doing. Food: no complain about it. It never disappointed me. The price is a bit high, but when you see the quantity, you wont complain again. I never could finish my whole meal. Try meat loaf, its awesome. You will get all kinds of American food choice here, thats one plus point. I certainly recommend everyone around UIC to try this one out. And for me, I will be back next week as well I guess.

I went back to White Palace Grill for the first time in a few years this past Sunday morning with a buddy visiting from Washington DC. I moved out of the city about 10 years ago and havent had many chances to make it back. The one thing that stuck out was how long it took to eat. I parked on Canal St. and paid for 90 minutes of parking and still had to add money to the meter. I remember getting served very quickly in the past. The server was very nice. We had a very nice "back in the day" conversation while we ordered. I chalked the slowness on this morning to be out of the ordinary. The menu gives you a lot of different options, but we stuck with breakfast. I ordered a Meat Lovers Skillet with a side of Corner Beef Hash... Outstanding! I remembered why I used to love to come here for breakfast in the past. It wont be long before I get back to White Palace Grill again.

My boyfriend and I were in the city for Pearl Jam and this morning we wanted a great home cooked breakfast . He surprised me by bringing me to your diner , it was my first time and as soon as I walked it , the aroma of the food cooking made my mouth water and got excited to look at the menu! The menu was awesome , put together perfect ( pictures and lots of choices ) a plus ! Service was fast and friendly , coffee was tasty , very clean and I loved all the decorations. Now for the food ..! The best French Toast I ever tasted , bacon was crisp and delicious , my eggs were great and cooked right !! I also tried my boyfriends Waffles .. Wow ! Fluffy and also delicious, his chicken fingers were also The best I ever experienced! I will be back soon to try the rest of your menu !! Love, love , love this place !!!! ~ Christine Renee DiNicola

I decided to eat here after a Bulls game. got a waitress with red hair old women. very rude, obviously didnt care about her tip. after a few drinks of water and lemonade, we were told to be quite when the party across was louder. after I made that comment I was asked to leave and pay the bill. so I thought it was just the drinks. they charged me over 50$ and we didnt even receive food yet. after I gave $5 for drinks cops rushed me into the door making me pay for a meal that didnt arrive yelling profanity. on top of that the cop calls backup to give me a ticket across the street. this place is a dump, that was also a scam. save your money dont ever eat here. honestly not worth it at all.

Rude servers and managers.Came here two times had a great server and a great time. My third time here I had a extremely rude server that did not seem like she wanted to be there not only did my food take over 30 minutes to come out at a diner it wasnt that good when it came. The server I had would aggressively hand or THROW things at me to the extent that when she gave me no threw a straw at me it almost fell hit the floor. Even though the experience was horrible I will still come back again as I will not let one bad experience with a bad server. I dont know why this server was rude to me as I saw the server act very pleasantly to other customers.

Important: they dont split checks here at all. If you come in a group you must pay as a group. Managers and ownerrs needs to properly display rules for payment in restaurant & on menus to avoid confusion and frustration. Great place & food. Customer service needs improvement. Employees seemed careless when my table complained about how the sign that says no split checks needs to be better placed in the restaurant. Told me I could use atm in the restaurant that would charge me 5 dollars to take out money to pay them... couldnt possibly cost that much to upgrade your systems :) other than that, we enjoyed it til the end

Hello. I hope the day finds you in good health & spirits. Ive been to WPG on several occassions and have been happy with most of my meal purchases. But, I believe your culinary skills are best demonstrated with the breakfast menu. I was @ WPG on Sunday, I ordered a taco salad. The meat on the salad was not taco meat as shown on the menu, but chili; this combination made the taco shell VERY soggy. I dont like tomatoes nor peppers which the chili contained, so I had to pick thru the salad. Overall, I maybe ate 4 bites and pushed away. It was absolutely terrible!! If I return, I know to stick to breakfast.

A pretty standard grill. A tad pricy for a milkshake ($4) considering that you dont get the remnants of whatever was really made (like they tend to do at Dennys. Service was commendable considering I didnt have enough to order more than my shake but the waitess offered and them brought me a cup of soup and when I asked if they happened to have any bread she even brought me two different types of dinner roll and butter. She did not put these small items on the bill but it made a big difference to me. I will definitely be visiting here again if the chance arises. Parking may prove problematic, f.y.i.

My wife and I love to visit little diners wherever we may find them. White Palace is one of our favorites! They are open 24 hours which is key, and they don’t try to make anything fancy. I always get the chicken club, and my wife the grilled cheese sandwich. All of their items are extremely high in calories, which is probably why it tastes so da*n good! Don’t expect a white table cloth treatment or meal, but expect a great diner experience. (BTW – Baskin Robbins is across the street!)

Is there a 0 star option? Came here on my trip to chicago because I saw it on DDD, poor quality food that isnt even hot, then after the visit we took pics in front of the restaurant and the waitress came out to say we didnt pay for our meal, even though we had placed the money all on the tabel and let her know. She was even right near the table, and it wasnt busy so nobody stole the money. We suspect the waitress or either the cleanig guy stole our money. Would NEVER go here.
