So my friends and I were in Chicago for Market Days. We had taken a bus there from Evansville, Indiana. We, having been walking around for hours, decided we would go to the first resturaunt (that wasnt a bar as well as we were all under twenty-one) that we saw. By sheer good luck, it happened to be Nookies Tree. The sign said breakfast lunch dinner and that pretty much decided it. We were seated upon entering, even though we had a fairly large party(six of us total). Our waiter was kind, friendly, and fun. I dont remember his name but he had a mohawk looking do. This man should be given a promotion, I believe. Our food was brought semi-promptly; I ordered something that they ran out of so I had to order something else. Which, to me, is completely understandable considering it was market days. I ordered the eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. It was all amazingly prepared. The hashbrowns were a delicacy and considering I hate hashbrowns, that is an astounding feat. The eggs were just as I had ordered them. A lot of resturaunts have trouble cooking eggs to order for some reason. But not Nookies, they took all our orders and gave them to us fantastically and artfully crafted. My friends were all impressed and we agree that if we were to ever go back to chicago, Nookies Tree would be among the first stops. My only regret is that we couldnt have tipped our waiter more. We had only loose change left after the bill, so we left him a dollar per person(were poor high school and college kids). I wish we could have stayed just a bit longer, as well.

This place is awesome! If all the other locations are as good, this will be my go to brunch chain. I had the Paris Benedict, which was topped with melted gruyere cheese, bacon and grilled asparagus. The sauce was delicious and the whole thing was to die for! I wish the potatoes were crispier but it just left more room for my appetite to order the sweet sampler. The mango coconut hotcakes were really good, with a bit of a different consistency than Im used to, but change in this case was good! The stuffed French toast was delicious as well. The only thing that sucks about this place was our server-- the host was courteous and friendly but our server stopped in the middle of taking our order to take another tables order then just was never around. We sat there with a cleared table for a while before he brought our check, which we had to request for too. So strange. But the food is definitely worth going back for more!

Nookies Tree offers a no-frills casual dining experience at a very reasonable cost. We went there for breakfast on a Saturday morning, maybe we were there too early, but we were the only other customers at that time. This was good because it meant that we enjoyed excellent, prompt service. Ive walked past Nookies Tree in the late morning and it does start to get crowded to come early! The food is ok, nothing too fantastic or memorable. My eggs were pretty nicely cooked, so was my hash, with just the right amount of char on it to add a little bit of flavor. Maybe we were exceptionally hungry that day, but we did not have any left overs to take home, which I guess is a testament in itself of the quality of the food. If youre in the area looking for all day breakfast, this is a good option to consider.

My husband and I discovered this place on accident one year ago when we were in the city for a work Christmas party. The food is amazing! I had the lemon poppyseed French toast with lemon-bourbon-honey butter off the Winter Specials menu. Its heavenly. I seriously had dreams about it and couldnt wait to come back today, hoping it would still be on the menu. I was not disappointed! My husband got the Cajun eggs, which was sweet corn pancakes with two eggs over easy, andouille sausage gravy with peppers and blackened shrimp. His words: best breakfast hes ever had. Service was great and attentive; Henry is the best! We only wish we lived closer. Well head to Nookies Tree whenever were near Chicago.

Ive been going here for 3 years, this is my favorite restaurant in Lakeview. The staff are friendly, the food is great and well priced, and my husband and I never have a problem getting a table. The crepes are delicious, the bacon is crisp, and the coffee is never too bitter. I even had a wedding planning session there with the bridal party. Nookies gave us a lot of space to work and plan in the back. We were never rushed and they even turned down the background music so we could hear each other better. This is one of the real gems of the neighborhood.

Went here with my girl and her sister this past Saturday morning and I had a excellent time. Be prepared for a bit of a wait if you get up on the late side (its a popular neighborhood spot), but other than that I give these guys thumbs up all the way. Great breakfast food, huge portions and the patrons that come in here are a nice representation of everyone that lives in the neighborhood, basically I left here being reminded of why I live in a big city - great food, great people, great neighborhoods. Ill be coming back.

ONE OF THE WORST RESTAURANTS EXPERIENCES EVER. Interesting, this store has other locations where the food tastes way better and the customer service is much friendlier. I always order omelettes, and this is the only restaurant where I am always throwing up their food while eating there. Their staff is BEYOND rude...especially since its disheartening that their wait staff is all young, gay white boys with nasty attitudes.

I used to live across the street from Nookies Tree and would order and/or eat here at least once a week. Having a bad day? Their onion rings are the cure. You also cant beat 24-hour breakfast on the weekends. I spent many hungover Sundays in this place and I dont regret a thing. Another awesome part about Nookies is that they are BYOB. Whenever Im up in the Lakeview area, I stop by just for old-time sake.

Nookies is not just for breakfast! There are a million diner-type restaurants in Lakeview serving unremarkable sandwiches and salads. While Id put the food from Nookies regular menu in that category, everything on their seasonal dinner menu is amazing! The soups are also really, really good (soup/salad is free with most entrees). Plus generous portions, good service, and BYOB!

Ive been coming here since I was seventeen in the 90s. Its lost its touch over the years and could use a deep cleaning. Some decades long staff do a great job however overall the place seems to have turned downhill in the last ten years. Pretty sad since the food is still decent, interior just needs an upgrade and newer employees should be retrained.

This made itself my favorite restaurant by its friendly service, seasonal menu (pureed parsnips Yum), relaxed yet classy atmosphere, good food at Any time you show up and a friendly patronage. BYOB, with an available ice bucket and mixers on hand is a Huge boon with a lot to do in any direction you feel like walking. And by BYOB they mean ANYTHING!

Every time I have been in Chicago, I never miss the opportunity to eat at this restaurant. The food is so good. Its the BEST every time. Professional staff, warm atmosphere, and the food just ALWAYS hits the spot. It never fails. No matter what you get on the menu, its worth the experience. I wish we have a Nookies Tree in Little Rock, Arkansas!
