VEGANS BEWARE!!!!! I booked a tasting here based on people stating that they have vegan offerings and the staff assuring me they could provide vegan cake options. First off, when I arrived the CHEF asked me what exactly vegan meant...which raised a HUGE red flag for me. Thankfully I have been vegan long enough to trust my instincts and taste buds. Both chefs told me they thought the icing was vegan, but it came boxed so they couldnt tell me what the ingredients were. I tasted egg immediately and questioned it a second time and was assured that there was no egg in the icing. I stopped eating that particular icing and felt very pressured by both the staff and chefs to sign an order immediately for my baby shower. I just kept being told how they couldnt do this and they couldnt do that. And also how there was no such thing as vegan cream cheese...by the head chef. I would absolutely not recommend this bakery at all. I was very disappointed and made to feel very pressured to pay 2 months in advance for a cake I was certain they would not and could not provide to my satisfaction. I actually got ill by the time I got home, sweating, stomach issues (I luckily didnt throw up, I only had the other issue for about 2 hours) and having to drink tons of water and lay down due to the severity of the cramps. They called me a few days ago to find out when I would be paying my invoice. And when I told the girl I actually got ill because their frosting had egg in it and they told me it was vegan, she just said okay thanks, and hung up. RUDE as well!

It took multiple emails and phone calls before i spoke to someone from this establishment. When i finally spoke to Chef Michael and explained my design and budget, he said he could make it work. We discussed options and designs. During that phone call he was about to take my payment over the phone but i didnt have my card with me at the time so he told me to call back. I called back 5 minutes later and there was no response. I finally spoke to Chef Michael today after several attempts to contact him. After i mentioned that i had called to make a payment on the cake, he said that he could not produce what i wanted due to the price i was willing to pay. He was very cheeky and condescending. Why lead me to believe that i placed an order and everything was fine? The event is this Saturday and i have no cake. Thank you Chef Michael for you terrible customer service.

We are disappointed with the cake we ordered for our wedding. When we went into the store for the tasting we wanted a square cake that fed 55 people. We picked our flavors and let him know my mother is a vegan, so he said he could accommodate and make a vegan top layer. As it got closer to the wedding my husband received a phone call from Chef Michael calling him by the wrong name and asking for more money due to the vegan top layer (which in my opinion should of been discussed at the tasting). We got the cake and literally when we went over to cut it we cut into a HUGE slice of frosting. It seems like they made a smaller cake and added so much frosting to make it bigger. Some of my tables only got frosting on their plates and came to me after the wedding to let me know about it. We are very disappointed with the experience.

I was in a rush for a last minute birthday cake. I was looking for a Publix or something similar but while driving in circles came across Let Them Eat Cake. I entered and immediately realized they were not a simple bakery but very professional cake makers. I understood and asked for nearest simple bakery or Publix. Chef Michael wouldnt hear of it. He took a small cake that they had on hand and made it to order in front of me in a manner of minutes! Needless to say the cake was far above anything you could get from a run-of-the-mill bakery and the impression it made was fantastic. Chef Michaels spur of the moment kindness to someone he did not even know made my friend feel incredibly special and I thank him!

The experience at Let Them Eat Cake is not to be missed for brides in Tampa. From the cake tasting to finalizing details Chef Michael was funny, creative, he listened, and delivered our perfect wedding cake. We had two different flavors, Boston cream and jour de nuit (choco and vanilla) and our guests raved about our cake. At our first meeting we had a wonderful tasting. We felt Chef was a little distracted but the bakery is always busy (with repeat customers!) which was a great sign. When we discussed the design I presented ideas we had agreed upon prior and Chef was happy to accommodate and made suggestions as well! Our cake came out PERFECT, thank you Let Them Eat Cake!!

LOVE this place, LOVE Chef Michael and his staff! LTEC was one of two preferred vendors included in our package for our wedding and we were so happy with with our choice. Tasting was so much fun with Chef Michael. Cake came out beautiful AND delicious, and the surprise grooms cake came out perfect. Our 1st anniversary cake was just as delicious (and decorated like our wedding cake) and I just ordered our 2nd anniversary cake. We look forward to getting an anniversary cake every year. Cant recommend them enough!

I called this establishment to get a quote for a custom birthday cake. Chef Michael who answered the phone was extremely curt and quiet frankly a smart a** when I told him my budget for a cake to feed 15 people was $75. His exact words were "What do you expect me to do for $75?" " I have to meet payroll you know." This is some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They will not receive my business.

I ordered my Birthday cake for there. It looked AMAZING but, Chef Micheal told us that it was $75 for a 3 layer cake and charged us $260! He said if I helped a certain amount of days he would take off some money. I helped a day under his requirement and we made him take it off considering the price he told us when we ordered it! Also the cake did NOT taste good. It was not moist and not very tasty!

A very disappointing experience. I am surprised to see this company still in business. Long story short. I ordered my wedding cake in 2009 (they forgot the cake topper), and promised to bake a fresh cake to my order for our anniversary. They gave me an old cake out of the refrigerator. It was plain awful. It ruined my anniversary. Very disappointing.

To make it short: Chef wasnt there for the appointment. Had special dietary needs and did not provide cake samples for us. Proceeded to wait 15 minutes and no one said that Chef Micheal was running late. Finally we asked and they said that hed be an additional 15 minutes behind. Waste of my time, I wouldnt even give it a 1 star. Hope this helps you.

Beautiful Cake but I told them on several occasions no chocolate or nuts secondary to allergies. They completely forgot and never wrote anything on the order sheet despite being told on 3 separate occasions! Really nice people but clearly unsafe.. Cake was good but a little dry. Then they have nerve to flag as inappropriate when its absolutley true!
