Great decor, very romantic for a date but the group of 6 dining there had a great time too, without being intrusive. Excellent menu and creative selections, we had the quail egg carbonara, chefs tasting, and an American artisan cheese platter that came paired with a sample of three very unique beers. I loved everything about this restaurant - except for the service. I work in fine dining as a server, so I am not trying to be another complaining jerk customer who thinks the world revolves around them. I understand what I say about the restaurant only reflects my subjective experience. That being said, my boyfriend and I did elect to sit at the bar, but I do not think that is much of an excuse for bad service, especially on a very slow night in both the dining room and bar area. I know restaurant managers read these posts, so I just wanted to say that after taking our order, I never saw our server until we flagged him down to get our bill. He didnt ask how our food was throughout any of the courses. My boyfriend and I finished our drinks before the end of the first course and we were never offered another. His glass was taken without a word and mine just sat empty for another hour. The other bartenders stood and chatted to a girl at the end of the bar who appeared to know them personally. They also checked their phones, took long breaks to sip from their drinks, and looked somewhat bored. Honestly, they seemed to be intentionally avoiding us, which is a shame because it seemed as though our original server was attending to a more demanding guest. Your guests like to see you help out your fellow coworkers guys! It makes us feel like less of a burden. Berns and Sideberns offer incredible decor and cuisine, and I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed the culinary experience at both of these restaurants. Our service at Berns was in a class all its own in terms of precision, warmth, and attention - probably the best Ive had in Florida. Sideberns menu was experimental and unique, with excellent tasting selections. That is why I was so (for lack of a better expression) weirded out by how bad the service was! As fellow service industry workers, we were both pretty shocked!

UPDATE: The "owner" replied to my review and asked me to contact them because they "wanted to make it right." I emailed them and then never heard back... Great food. Horrible service. Dont go there expecting the level of service youd receive at Berns or Elevage. From the hostess to manager to the waiter...everyone came off as pretentious and unwelcoming. They have a great happy hour but the website and staff fail to mention it is only available if you sit at the bar. There also secret bar offerings (beer, wine, spirits) not listed on the menu that you have to know to ask for. All in all, it makes you feel like an outsider and unwelcome if you havent been there before. Normally youd expect the waiter to ask if youd been there before and take the time to explain things to you...especially at a place with small plates and daily offerings that changed. Our waiter didnt do that at all which forced us to keep asking questions to get him to tell us each special/daily offering. It was like pulling teeth. Again...the food is amazing if a bit pricey. But the service is the worst of any restaurant weve been to in Tampa.

Good food and a unique drink menu, but a bit overprice. A friend and I went on a random Friday night in December. The food was good (we had the filet and the duck breast). They are not the best we have ever had, but they were good enough to be memorable. The service was a little slow, but I am assuming that was just our spacey waitress. What was AWESOME was the very unique drink menu with fantastic beverages. We had a margarita and a scotch spin-off that were wonderful. They did take a little long, but they were worth the wait. In the end, the price was a little more then I thought justified, but in the end the atmosphere made the experience and as a result we would return.

So tonight I had the tasting menu with wine pairing. It was a hefty bash on the wallet but I can say in all honesty that I havent had a meal that well done in years. Service was a 5. Food was a 4.8 Wine (and the pairing) was a 5. I cant emphasize this enough. The pairing work done by the sommelier was a tribute to his profession. The only miss was the Melville estate 2009 Pinot noir with the quail dish I had. All else and especially the 2004 scala die priorat with the duck hearts were beyond superb. Thanks to all who were working tonight to give me one of the best meals of my life. Job well done. Ill be back and with friends!

Went to dinner last night for a birthday. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is great. They come off as very pretentious when it comes to portion size. The cheese board for $47 dollars came with the smallest side of condiments as well as a very tiny basket of bread. The pasta dish was $17 and was in a tiny side bowl. The dessert was $8 to $12 and was two slices of apples, three small squares of cake and a smear of sauce. Manhattan NY fine dining scene is more generous than this place. I would not go back, we do not mind spending money but come on. Also valet was $3 which is very tacky as we spent $400 on dinner.

I went to Haven expecting the environment to be more like Side Berns, but it was very loud. Many young patrons my age were shouting out loud as if they were at a fraternity party. The management did not address the issue and made the experience uncomfortable for other patrons. I took the liberty and conversed with 4 tables beside us and they were all unhappy about the environment and noise. On the other hand, the snack sized plates are absolutely delicious and excited ones taste buds and leaves them craving more. I would recommend to stop by early, share couple of plates and then go to Berns to complete the experience.

Great for meat eaters and vegetarians. Try the Prix Fixe, with the Wine Flight. The wines are paired according to whether you choose the Vegetarian Prix Fixe, or Traditional Prixe Fixe. Fabulous! The food is simply fabulous. Some may say the portions are small, but you are eating a six-course meal, and by the time you arrive at dessert you are searching for more room to put it in. It is worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and book a room at the Westin, ten minutes away and park your car. Take a cab there and back to the hotel so that you can enjoy a totally stress-free evening. We are looking forward to returning.

Ive eaten a here only a couple of times and the food is really good but a bit too foo foo for me. I mainly partake at the bar for adult beverages, The bartenders really know how to make a drink and the head mixologist, Dean, knows what he is doing. Be a bit adventurous and ask them to make you one of their specialty drinks, you will not regret it. The happy hour specials are nice and very reasonably priced. Many times the wines they have for $5.00 a glass are a great bargain. The place is trendy, upbeat and has a great atmosphere.
