We decided to try this place do to the advertised Sarasota "Readers Choice award" best oriental food 14 years in a row. I went in with an open mind and have tried many Asian Buffets so I do know what can be expected with this type of dining. There were a few dozen people there at 1:00 pm and I noticed a vast array of food stations. We were seated by nice wait staff so I was feeling optimistic. I am vegan and as one would expect I usually have no problem at Asian buffets. I immediately noticed massive amounts of meat/fish/seafood in the dishes that are usually meatless. Disappointed I still felt that the 5 or so meat-free items should be plenty. I was wrong, every item on my plate was tepid or cold. I went back and retraced my steps, No go... tepid or cold. The food was also very bland and unusually tasteless. I asked my family how there food was... awful, cold and void of flavor. My daughter said she was heading to the desert table as she wanted to eat. Imagine a 15 year old refusing her selected deserts except for the common prepackaged almond cookie! Table full of food we told the waitress we were finished as the food was not edible. She did not get it and told me I should eat more food as I was too skinny, ha! She then brought us the CHECK! I left her a tip as it was not her fault the food was bad. We went to the counter and asked for the manager, who was the man that had been sitting behind us while eating. I dont know how he could not have heard our complaints. We told him about our awful experience and said we were not paying the full bill. He got snarky and said we should have told him and he could have microwaved our (already overly cooked) food or that we should have scooped from the bottom. He also reminded us that it was "only a buffet" and announced that he had not had any other complaints that day. He said we had to pay our bill. I asked for the owner and he glared at me. He then said he could take off 10%. I informed him that that was not acceptable. He said he would call the police and I encouraged him to do so! Now, this was only a $25 dollar bill for 3 people. It was not about the money at this point but about rotten restaurants with bad ethics getting away with ripping people off! Sarasota has huge amounts of restaurants and the bad ones need to get better or go away. He then went and spoke with our waitress, told us he never wanted to see us again and we could pay half. By this time I was laughing inside at his poor manners and bad business practices! We paid half (for nothing) and left. I needed to get home to let my pup out and make some lunch! Lesson to self... if the food is not up to par at first bite inform the "host" that one is leaving and walk out.

I been going to this place for over 10 years with my family. Today Sunday we got together again, Food was fine, not great...like always... I dont go there because I love the food or because I think is the best. they are ok, Its close from home, clean and cheap and I can show up with a table of 14 at any time. We were 6 adults and 5 kids, few people did not show up. food fine. I dont expect great service since they only bring drinks, like I say,,,dont expect much. and we are not difficult. I been a server before and I am very easy going, I am a 20% tipper all the time, u have to be really offensive to upset me, I that never happens till today. but this time was horrible!!! and not from the server, server was fine...I will say acceptable ....THE OWNER!!!! OMG after we finish the meal, my son was still enjoying his chocolate pudding, he is 3 years old. We pay for 2 buffets for my wife and I. he did not eat anything but that and, we spend around $180+ and we tip the server 20%.. since kids were having a lot to drink. THE OWNER came to our table to scream at us that why my son is eating that is 3 years old!!! , she was very rued and offensive about that. I was very upset about her action, I told her that my did not eat and he is 3 years old. Their menu says kids 3 or under dont pay. I was surprise of her actions and very upset, we were having a great family time and THE OWNER ruin our Lunch... My LAST words were that I will never come back and I will tell everyone I know DONT GO THERE. SHE SAID TO ME THAT SHE DOES NOT CARE......YES OWNER TOLD ME THAT SHE DOES NOT CARE!!! . I DONT WANT TO RETURN TO A RESTAURANT WHERE THE OWNER DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE IMAGE OF THEIR BUSINESS. I DONT CARE THEY BEEN RATED BEST SARASOTA 13 YEARS IN A ROW.

My visit to this restaurant is very unpleasant. One of the WORST experiences Ive ever had in a restaurant. A group of about 6 people, including myself landed on eat at this dump for reason of other not wanting to pay too much for their food. I wasnt expecting much, it being a Chinese buffet. I also wasnt expecting to be on my second plate of food, feeling extremely nauseous.... Then as Im waiting for everyone else to finish their meals, I find a baby cockroach IN MY FOOD. If I wasnt feeling ill already I sure was now. I race to the bathroom to vomit, and there is human fecal matter sprayed in both bathroom stalls. I had to use the sink. The whole bathroom REAKED OF FECES AND URINE. not being able to stand it a raced outside until my stomach calmed down. I return to everyone sitting there with their bills. The waiter came back to collect the checks, and I calmy said to him I believe the food made me very Ill and Im really not interested in paying for food poisoning. He escorted me to the front where I met a grumpy owner or manager, telling me I have to pay in very broken English. I explained to him I became violently ill and still feel very sick. Explained there were cockroaches innmy food. He threatened to call the police on me as he raised his voice, and I told him I would go to social media. It became a shouting match until he told me to leave. I didnt even dig into my second plate of food. I opened a case with the health department. A month later they were shut down. I was sick for 2 days after I ate there. Hands down the worst food poisoning Ive ever experienced. Hopefully someone reads this review whos think of eating there. Theyve had multiple closures over the past 2 years.

This was one of the best places to eat in town. Tonight I took my family here for dinner. Our waitress (Tina) was HORRIBLE. We have a 2 year old and requested a booster seat for him. Tina (who speaks no English mind you) couldn't understand for almost a minute what we needed. The type of booster seats they have are flippable for multiple heights. After we (his PARENTS) put him in the seat with the higher setting, ya know, so he could actually reach the table, Tina proceed to almost fly across the table and made us flip the chair over. Then my wife had soy sauce on her plate to dip her egg roll in, Tina walked over to our table and said "Excuse me" and took my wife plate out from under her nose. Then I still had half a plate of food, with my fork in a piece of pork on the plate, Tina walks up and takes my plate. So I went up and asked to see the manager. This person also speaks hardly any English did nothing more than argue with me. Said "that's how we do it here". I said really, you take food right out from under the people while they are eating. He then walked away from me while I was still talking and started to argue with my wife. 3 other employees came over just making excuses for Tina. This was not acceptable to me. I am a supervisor for a multi-million dollar customer service business in sarasota. We Will NEVER EVER come back and are alerting all our friends and family about this unacceptable treatment. Bottom line. BAD SERVICE DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE PAID FOR. I CAN GET THAT FOR FREE. VER DISAPPOINTED.
