I am from Dallas originally and have been going to La Madeleine about once a month for years and years until I moved to Orlando. I have NEVER had a bad experience at La Madeleines. The food, the service, the atmosphere has always delivered. When I heard they were opening a location here I counted down the days and even triple checked to make sure I got the date right (Ive been a little homesick for Dallas and I thought this would cheer me up.) I even considered APPLYING. But now Im not sure. The food: My fiancé and I both ordered a chicken salad croissant and a cup of potato soup, our favorites on the menu. To our surprise we were given an extra side each so he got potato chips and I got a caesar salad. The salad and the chips we both agreed were delicious. The sandwich was decent. The recipe tasted like home. Unfortunately the sandwich barely had any chicken salad on it. Im used to a stuffed sandwich with chicken salad pouring out of it but this left much to be desired (literally, I wanted more.) The potato soup was not brought out to us. We had to go back and ask for it and when we did get it, the recipe tasted way off, too much pepper, not enough salt, and COLD. Let me put it this way: when I drove to the original La Madeleine in Dallas and brought soup home to my house (about a 25-30 min drive away in Dallas traffic) it was still warmer than the soup I ate today. Which brings me to.... The Service: When we walked in the door the place seemed promising. Lots of friendly bounjours and smiling faces. When I got to the counter, however, the girl had no clue. NOW, I understand that this was their first day and that training was still in progress and I will not fault them for that. BUT there were probably 15 people behind the counter (seriously, a whole crowd) ALL of them standing around talking and laughing and paying zero attention. When my fiancé went to request our forgotten soup, he was met with a group full of blank stares before someone finally mumbled something incoherent and told someone else to get soup. THEN someone came to our table and asked to see our receipt (like we would try to steal two cups of 4 dollar soup). When everything checked out the awkward waitress came back to our table and offered us a free baguette (I imagine so she wouldnt actually have to take our criticism or absorb our feedback). There were managers walking all around, some looked to be from corporate and NOBODY asked us how their team was doing or how the food was but simply kept strolling along talking and laughing. My fiancé even asked if their managers were working and nobody ever came by. Ill be honest. Im very disappointed. As a long time customer and fan of this company, I expected a lot more. Especially on their grand opening. My rating of 3 stars is actually pretty generous considering how frustrating this visit was. Objectively, the food was decent (minus the soup) but I imagine it will get better as the staff learns how to do their job. There were way too many people behind the counter which is inefficient, and honestly probably a huge waste of their payroll since none of them were doing anything anyhow. If this location keeps this up I can bet they wont be very successful. It was just very evident that nobody working there (even the corporate managers) genuinely cared about the business, and that is very upsetting. Perhaps the company should bring the pros in from Dallas and show Orlando how to run a restaurant.

First time at this location, will not be returning. Staff was not helpful, it had been a while since I visited. Although an order was placed and after being handed a buzzer i was still being asked what I ordered and what else i would like. I told the employee what I order and i didnt know hoe to proceed as far as what else to get or why i was even im line. She didnt care to explain or assist. The guy behind me state he wasnt sure either and no one explain anything to him. Anyways i managed to get through it after the staff made me feeml like i was in the wrong. Food was great until I found a hair in my pasta which total turned me off. I asked one of the staff member to please have management sent to my table. After about 10mins no one stopped by, not trying to waste my time and wanted to bring to attention hair in my food but most importantly staffs effort to help understand order process. Obviously mamager didnt care to speak with me and the team is just following managements lead. Will definitely recommend to everyone NOT to go to this location due to service.

Food is perfect!! But staff is not polite.... me, my friends and family went there saturday 1 hour before closing and they were not very welcoming. It seemed like they did not like what they were doing or that is not the kind of jog they wanted for themselvs. Every time i went there i could not order what i wanted to eat because theres always something missing... I went there 3 times First time they were out of the chicken la madeline Second time was ok but service was very bad. There was an young lady at cash out the had no experience and no one was there to help her it took a while for us to order. Third time service was awful and could not get what i paid for again because they didnt have the bread that comes with the chicken la madeline. I would definitly go back there, but just because of the food. 5 star for the quality of the food. As for the rest 1 and a half Some people just dont like to pay and not have the good experience they expected and i am one of those.

Poor quality food and service. Im familiar with la Madeleine and have tried it in different cities and states. I always liked their environment, food quality and service. But this location only carries the name. This location serves the worst food and has the worst service. It seems that they dont have enough customers so expect to be served microwave rewarmed food. Very poor customer service. One person takes order at the beginning of the counter then asks you to go to other side for her to process your order, while other customers are still waiting in line. This shows terrible management. I ordered regular omelet, and I got egg white. Their broccoli was cold and chicken was previously cooked and just rewarmed, most likely in a microwave. This was my last visit to this location, unless they change their service and quality from ground up. No wonder they are always empty.

Dig this place. Cool little cafe right in front of Millenia mall. This joint replaced the Mimis but was at least a nice addition. The staff is friendly, the food is quality and the visit is worth the price point. la Madeleine is a take on French country with a variety of pastries, breads and "classic" dishes. They serve some great breakfast, lunch & dinner items all cooked with care in a fast-food/cafe atmosphere. You order and pay at the counter and a runner comes out to your table to drop off. While you wait, theres a bread & jam station where you can load up on some pre-meal carbs and grab your tea/coffee/soft drinks. Cool option in the area weather youre looking for some quick eats, or for a nice lunch/dinner at a relaxed setting in the middle of suburbia.
