Oh what an experience this was. I came here with my girlfriends and we tried a little bit of everything- SO glad we did it that way. We started off with cocktails. The majority of the table went with the Doc Holliday- H&Hs twist on the moscow mule. While it was good, it was SO tiny. I went with the spiced Georgia peach which was the hit of the night. Served in a tall glass, with crushed ice, Flor de Cana rum, a rosemary sprig and incredible peaches... yes yes and more yes. Since we wanted a good overview of the menu, we ordered one entree and the rest were appetizers/side dishes. Parker House Rolls- Whoa. get these. just do it. the herb and apple butters served alongside were so good I wanted to eat it with a spoon. But that would be weird, so I refrained. The Southern Spread- This was good but I dont think I would get it again. Smoked fish dip and pimento cheese accompanied by pickled vegetables, crispy crackers and grilled bread. Pimento cheese is always a standout in my book and it was really good, just nothing over the top for me. Crabcake & Fried Green Tomato- !!!! This was one of my favorite parts of the meal. The remoulade was slightly sweet and perfect and I wanted to lick the plate. I could have eaten 2 orders of this BY MYSELF Deviled Eggs- Im not a huge deviled egg fan but these were good. Rich and creamy with a good hint of spice from the mustard. Bookers Skirt- Per our servers suggestion, we got to try this INCREDIBLE dish. Whoa. Skirt steak marinated in bourbon, seared to a perfect medium rare. Accompanied by mashed potatoes, corn and tomatoes. I want this. Every. Day. Pimento Mac & Cheese- We got 2 orders of this and it was a good thing because I wanted SO MUCH OF IT. Simple, yet perfect. Brussel Sprouts- BS + bacon, I mean do I need to explain more? We got a complimentary chocolate plate which I thought was super sweet. On my way to the little girls room, the server asked if we were celebrating anything and I simply told him it was our girls Valentines Day. The sea salt chocolate caramels were one of the best confectionaries I have put in my mouth. Seriously though. The ambiance was great- classy, yet casual.

H&H sits in the posh Ritz-Carlton Orlando hotel, replacing the former Vineyard Grill with a club-like atmosphere of dark wood and images from Florida’s past. The wraparound marble bar features a drinks menu reminiscent of a rail station timetable, and the attached raw bar serves up exquisite oysters from local and seasonal cold-water sources. Much produce comes from the 13,000-square-foot Whisper Creek Farm on Grande Lakes property. Chicken and dumplings leaves behind the saucy stew with “goopy dumplings”; instead a braised breast with herb gnocchi is served in thyme gravy velouté, a light, roux-thickened broth that lets the other ingredients shine through. The intensely flavored shrimp and grits uses tender Canaveral red shrimp in season over hearty Anson Mills grits from South Carolina and a fennel and charred tomato sauce that adds smoke and licorice notes. The touches of preserving throughout the menu are all in-house creations: corn chow-chow on the crab cake; fried pickle slices; pickled watermelon rind and green tomato chutney. The Southern Spread is a combination pimento cheese, a tongue-awakening assortment of pickles and superb smoked fish dip, all served in a metal tackle box with crispy breads. They smoke brisket not from beef, but tender and rich lamb, a la west Texas, and serves it with “baked beans” made with boiled peanuts that have nothing to do with those muddy goober peas sold roadside.

Food: **** Atmosphere: **** Service:**** Value:*** Highball and Harvest is a great exponent of the magic that can happen when one combines fresh ingredients, skilled culinary techniques and wonderful service. The food in the restaurant is largely inspired by classic southern cuisine. What makes it stand out is the delivery and execution. To start, I had the pork and potatoes appetizer. Pork belly, roasted potatoes and a perfectly poached egg, accompanied by hollandaise sauce and a hint of their homemade hot sauce. 100 % deliciousness. A southern homage to Poutine. Following was their skirt steak, accompanied by mashed potatoes and arugula salad. A perfect example of quality ingredients and well balanced flavors. The dish, simple at first glance, uses a great amount of technique to achieve greatness. Dessert was their much heralded donuts. Simple but delicious. Atmosphere is nice. On the weekends they have a live musician, which can make it a bit loud for my taste. Decor is industrial upscale. Service was friendly and attentive. Value was average. A bit pricey but thats to he expected of a restaurant at the Ritz.

Visit this resturaunt on a recommendation from a friend. Took my brother for his birthday and called ahead to ensure that they could accommodate. They said they could. Waiter first visited the table over 10 minutes after being seated. Took another 10 minutes to deliver drinks. Food was slow. Total meal was 2 hours (not in the positive sense). At the end of the meal came the bill with the waiter completely forgetting to bring out the dessert tray etc. for the birthday. In fact, no mention of it. I brought the poor experience to the attention of the manager who took my information and said they would call the next day. They never did. In short, there are many far better restaurants in Orlando with better food, service and attention to detail. This experience left a bad taste in mouth due to the number of blunders from numerous parties which speaks poorly of management. I have not returned.

We had an absolutely wonderful meal tonight at Highball and Harvest. It is a pretty restaurant and an enjoyable place to spend a couple hours over dinner and drinks. The service is flawless. We were waited on tonight by Robbie L who was fantastic. He had a masterful knowledge of the dishes and their preparation and recommended good wine pairings and cocktails. We tried the bone marrow, pimento dip and bacon/potato appetizer which were all fantastic. The bacon/potato was the table favorite. For entrees, we each tried something different and all were sublime. The shrimp and grits was wonderful. For dessert, we tried the bread pudding with Charlie Brown ice cream, red velvet cake and mini donuts. All were delicious but the mini donuts are like crack. This is definitely a great restaurant in the area.

If you are looking for a laid back environment on a Saturday night with live music, good food, and delicious drinks, look no further. I have been to highball and Harvest several times. Once for lunch, and the other times have been spent in the lounge, ordering apps and having a cocktail or 3. The burger is a must get, and it can be ordered in the lounge, or regular restaurant. There lounge area does have a limited serving of food. The last time we ordered sweet potato fries poutine. They were pretty good, but not spectacular. They offer a nice selection of handcrafted drinks and 4 local rotating Florida craft beers on tap. If you are turned off by coming do to the parking price, dont be. The parking is validated with a purchase. We will be sure to return and look forward to trying new menu items.

FAVORITE PLACE IN THE WHOLE WORLD. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you cannot beat the staff. Seriously, these folks are awesome and if you have at least 51% positive energy, they most certainly will pick-up on it and create a memorable experience. Go here to have fun. Go here to laugh. Go here to eat in a basement surrounded by the beauty of the Ritz Carlton. Lauren, Annie, David, Rita, Andy, Ryan, Adam, Austin, Mario, Carlos, Angelica, Christina, Chira, and all the others (I will add more later when I have time!) are just wonderful. I love them all dearly like family. Sure the food is good, but hey, there is lots of good food anywhere you go. Come here for a relaxed, fun time in the most beautiful location in Orlando. P.s. They do validate parking, and the valets are just as wonderful (TIP THEM...DUH).
