After a recommendation from my hairdresser, we tried DJ out... and have been back almost as a ritual on Fridays to make their lunch prices. Excellent fresh food and fast service. Their wait staff really pays attention. Ive had several times the dinner camarones a la diabla but with the garlic sauce so not too spicy. Also flautas were great. Dinner partner often has the two tostada lunch... and the presentation of the dishes is very appealing too. What we dont react well to is wait staff who dry broom sweep the floor right up to the table while youre eating. NOT good to stir up dust while customers are eating. Better to save the sweeping for times when tables are cleared. Yes i know important to have spotless floors, but staff needs to be educated about how unappealing it is for customer to hold their breath and stop eating while the enthusiastic sweeping goes by. Otherwise, we ARE huge fans and do recommend DJ to anyone looking for great authentic Mexican food in this area. Btw, they can make fresh guacamole at your table and their salsa with the chips... you get no charge... is not too spicy hot or too salty. Big A+ !!

First, let me start by saying the food is excellent. However, like many reviewers, I have to say the service is lacking (in more than one area). I arrived last Friday around 6:40PM and put in for 2 people. I was told 30 - 35 minutes. I took my pager, went outside, and waited for my friend to arrive. About 5 minutes later she arrived, and someone at an outside table began smoking, so we moved closer to the entrance (i.e. by the DJ). After 45 minutes passes, people who arrived after us have been paged and seated. I go inside and see that everyone on the list is checked off but me. I asked why, and she said they "called" for me multiple times, but I did not answer. I WAS STANDING OUTSIDE THE DOOR FOR 30 MINUTES. She came out multiple times to ask other parties their names, and paged others. Not once was my named called, nor was I addressed. Why give me a pager if you arent going to use it? The hostess acted as if I was stupid for not hearing my name called, when one, she likely didnt call it in the first place, and two, its LOUD outside. Unfortunately, this was likely my last time at Don Julios.

Don Julio is a properly dressed Mexican restaurant in a shopping plaza off of S. Chickasaw. They have a good selection of authentic Hispanic cuisine and a friendly staff. I ordered the traditional Mexican enchiladas (like I normally do) and although they were somewhat tasty, they are not the reason I am giving this place 5 stars. My girlfriend and I had ordered some margaritas, mine frozen, hers on the rocks. About halfway through our meal, a manager comes over, picks up my drink, and sets down a new one. "I saw that your drink wasnt made correctly, so I got you a new one". The old drink was pretty disappointing, but the corrected margarita was delicious. I am giving Don Julios 5 stars because without my asking or complaining, the manager wanted to make sure we were getting the best that they had to offer. In the normally to-busy-to-care restaurant industry, this sort of commitment to the customer should receive 5 stars every time.

My mom and I love trying new Mexican places and we loved this one! The fresh guac made at the table is some of the best weve had and everything else was good too. We were excited to go back but left after being inside for just a few minutes because the music was DEAFENING. We asked the manager to turn it down a little and attempted to find a suitable place that may not be as loud, but there are speakers pointed in every direction and it didnt sound like they even touched the volume. And as a hearing impaired person that struggles in restaurants to hear anyway, I was sure to have a headache if I had stayed. Its frustrating not being able to even remotely hear the person youre trying to dine and interact with. Unfortunately the next time were heading to a Mexican joint, we probably wont choose this one for that reason even though its good food.

I came here once before and I LOVED the service, the atmosphere, the food AND the cocktail! I told my boyfriend about the place and here we are right now enjoying all these benefits again! We walked in sat down and that quick we were given menus, 3 seconds later they were taking our order for drinks and right behind that Giovanna came to take our food order and the guacamole bar came wheeling out to us ... And it was just AMAZING how TASTY how DELICIOUS EVERYTHING TASTED ... just like the very first time! Ive never seen a server clean off my table as a courtesy ... But there was dime drippings of salsa that I hadnt noticed and couldve should my clothes but Giovanna so thoughtfully and voluntarily used her own apron to wipe it off! THATS SERVICE! BRAVO TO DON JULIO!!!!!!!!

Went to this restaurant for the first time a few days ago based on location and online reviews. There were 7 of us. The food was excellent, hot and exactly as expected. The fried ice cream was especially memorable! Highly recommend to those that have a hard time with mexican food in general. My only reservation from a 5 star review was that our waitress was very hard to find when we were ready for dessert and check. I believe we had one other need the whole time but she was very hard to find. Several others came around to collect dishes which was nice. Again, highly recommend.

Ate at the new Lake Mary location. The house ground beef and shredded chicken have zero flavor. Could not detect a single spice. Kitchen needs to find the spice rack. Pollo asado was excellent though. Salsa had a kick. Presentation was nice. Hopefully, the kitchen will find their way. Red sangria was above average. 5 servers walked by my table without picking up the bill. A little teamwork would be good. Dining room is a little noisy-would be difficult for anyone with hearing problems. If they work on the opening issues, theyll do fine.

This is THEEEEEEE BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN FLORIDA!!!!!!! You will not taste better mexican food, ANYWHERE!!!! The white queso, to freaking die for, the chimichanga holy you know what - YUM, the margaritas - only have one, they are that GOOD!!!! The owner takes pride in this place and you can see it in the way the staff treats you, the positive, fun atmosphere and the outstanding food!!!! OH and the prices are so reasonable!!!! Once you eat here, every other Mexican restaurant will disappoint you! Next time I am there I will post pics!

Well been coming here for like 3 years and tonight been waiting for a table for like 2hrs and 15 minutes now and the concierge tells me that its more into serve a party of thirteen than a party of 7, spoke to manager he did fix the problem but Im not sure if Im pleased they need better management of their seating arrangements I believe in the old golden rule first come first serve, I hope they learn from this, I have been in there Facebook page and website as a frequent Customer but Tonight very very disappointed!!!
