The food is good but I got really disappointed at my server Marielo, we were 10 people in a corporate dinner, my boss could not make it, I told my waiter I needed to go and pick up the card to pay for dinner now that my boss got cought up with work, and one of the ateendes was going to stay with my credit card and ID, he told me all the group needed to stay, pretry much he treated me like if we were going to leave without paying. When I came back he already had the receipts with tip included, it was not even suggested, I could not decided how much tip I wanted to give him, I did not wanted to give him any tip, he kept arguing with me after I got there with the card, I had to give him the tip but I will definitely give him a bad review too. Shame he ruined my experience.

The churassco, ceviche, and tres leches are out of this world. The "mixed" ceviche (with fish and shrimp) is perfectly prepared using only premium fish and shrimp. The churrasco was cooked exactly to order and expertly seasoned--the only thing I had to do was get it to my mouth (as quickly as possible), haha. Entrees are served with all the red beans and rice cooker(which were delicious in their own right!) and plantain chips you can handle. The tres leches was firm and was better than any Ive had before. The cake was still firm, but with a rice pudding-like consistency while the sweet milk shone through. The whipped topping and cherry on top completed the dessert. Very highly recommended. Excellent staff and live guitar as well.

Great looking restaurant that has been open for many many years with the same decor but looks very nice I had the churrasco steak for lunch. The chimichuri sauce is very finely chopped and not chunky like Im used to seeing, almost a puree. Excellent flavor, however I ordered it medium and it came closer to rare. No matter, I rather enjoyed it. You can order sides Im sure, but they bring a large skillet with moros and plantain along with your entree and dont stop scooping it on your plate until you tell them. Great place. Nice experience and the staff is very pleasant and hospitable. My first time having Nicaraguan fare was memorable. Thank you everyone at El Novillo.

I tried for the first the Central American platter. The Starter salad was not the freshest and the steak and sausage included were not the greatest quality. I was looking forward to the fried cheese but again I was left tasteless and confused. Nicaragua as well as other Central American countries share similar flavors and aromas missing in this dish . The Pico de Gallo was missing love and passion that embraces Central American culture of food. Maybe this isnt a fair review since my dish was of lower cost and maybe not worthy of such criticism. I just figure if u cannot get the basics right some one should lend a hand and bring awareness to reviews.

Great place to go if you want a quiet and great looking restaurant serving Nicaraguan food. They have a great menu and provide excellent service. Its actually quite nice at night if you decide to grab a table outside. The lighting makes for a relaxing experience and would definitely suit those looking to take someone out for a dinner date. It should be noted that while it may not be mandatory, fine attire is definitely recommended. Business casual is what youll end up seeing others wearing. For some, the portions may be a bit on the overwhelming side but for those who like to store meals for later, youll definitely get your moneys worth.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is delicious and the staff is so friendly. In a time where restaurants are sacrificing quality, service, and attention to detail in exchange for money, everything about El Novillo is a refreshing change. Came here last week for first time with my wife and we loved it so much that we came back again this week on a double date with our best friends and they loved it just as much. We had the same waiter both times, young Cuban guy with a wrap in his hair and he was excellent. Look forward to coming back here many more times. Make sure you eat the Churrasco.

Well I dont know how can they call themselves Nicaraguan restaurant they have a steak with onions so I asked to please add tomatoes so it can be a Bistec entomatado which a Nicaraguan style and my waitress asked the manager and they would not accomodate me. My friend asked for a Cacao which is very Nicaraguan drink and they dont have it on the menu, we asked to replace the maduros or tajadas for Tortilla and they said no to that as well so I think that they go the extra mile to accommodate the customer. I wish i can give it 0 stars but the service was excellent.

Was there with big party -- total tab close to $600. The appetizer platters included masas de puerco and they tasted like they were leftovers or re-fried -- they were dried out and old tasting. The fried cheese was super hard and the shrimp was overcooked. I ordered churrasco (yummy) and lobster tail (overcooked). I was there with my family and did not complain as this was a festive occasion and we were having fun. They do pile on the moros and plaintains but so what...who wants to eat tons of food anyway. Used to be good but not anymore.

This place is horrible with customer service. I cant believe they were trying to charge me $5 extra dollars because Im an adult ordering from the kids menu. This is ridiculous. Im ordering from the kids menu because Im not hungry enough for a regular meal , and they want to punish me for it? Because theyre making less money off of me? This is the worst customer service gesture Ive experienced. Its a shame because the place looks quaint. But not worth it, all they care about is taking your money rather than giving you a good experience.
