What is with the cult like following of a burger joint? Have you seen the miles of line at Shake Shack New York location? There has to be at least one or many of your New York friends who can’t wait to Instagram their Shake Shack conquest. Let’s not leave out the people who make a special trip to New York just to tag all of their Facebook friends in front of this burger movement. Well, Shake Shack now has a South Beach location. Who wants to go to New York when the same thing is in South Beach Miami, with better weather? The minds at Shake Shack could not have picked a better location in Miami. If you went to South Beach and did not go to Lincoln Rd Mall, you did not go to South Beach. Make another trip. Every trend in Miami food have either started or ended on Lincoln Rd. The place is a mecca of the fashionistas, foodies, yuppies, druggies, aspiring models, old farts, and play boys. It would be very hard to find another place that is identical to Lincoln Rd. What better place to share America’s favorite comfort food, burgers. Shake Shack is one building north of Lincoln Rd at Lennox Ave. almost to the end anchored by the stunning Regal Movie Theater. Like almost every restaurant on Lincoln Rd. there are street side tables and chairs. The interior is a startling modernist, industrial canvas that screams yuppie. I mean that in a good way. Wood, metal, zinc, and concrete carve a cohesive space. Huge open ceilings lend a sense of openness. There are high top tables and chairs around the interior. Of course there is a line and it is long! Once you order they hand you one of those space saucer looking beepers. When your food is ready, you guessed it the beeper takes off, no it vibrates. ShackBurger – Cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce; single. SmokeShack – Cheeseburger topped with Niman Ranch all natural applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry pepper and ShackSauce; double. According to the menu and all cult writings, the patties are all natural, hormone free, antibiotics free, and made fresh daily. All ingredients are sourced locally. Shake Shack burger stands head and shoulders over the usual army of fast food chains however, there wasn’t a wow factor. There are hot dogs, frozen custards, fries, drinks, beer and wine. Yes, fast food style beer and wine. No comment on the fries. The community participation is very commendable for this company. May be it was the 4 hr. drive from Orlando to Miami or yea let’s blame the Miami salt air, was worth it,yes; would I do it again, not so sure.

Lhamburger biologico BUONO, anzi BUONISSIMO!

I had the Shack Stack, and its a pretty interesting burger. The fried mushroom oozed out gooey cheese which helped add flavor to the somewhat underseasoned beef patty. Its pricier than most burger joints, but I thought the quality of ingredients was good. One thing I didnt like was that the onions were literally a cross section of an onion bulb. It was like another patty of raw onions which overwhelmed some of the other flavors with its sharpness. Otherwise, its a decent burger and kinda fun to eat in a gimmicky sense. The fries were pretty good. The crinkle cut gave them a crispier texture, and the inside was soft. Theyre definitely better than fries from In-N-Out. I think the best thing there was this key lime pie shake thing my friend got. It was tart and sweet with some crumbled crust bits mixed it. I think I like it more than real key lime pie because everythings better in ice cream form.

In the words of Ushers cheesy song: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh my God! Ive heard all the hype about this New York outpost and it was all that and a bag of chips. Im a hamburger freak and found the burger perfect. Nice, soft bun, perfectly cooked patties with gooey cheddar cheese. The cheese fries were ridiculous. I dont know what they put in the cheese (I tasted some sort of alcohol in there) but they rocked. For dessert I tried the Shark Bait Cement which was loaded with vanilla custard, fudge chunks, chocolate balls and peanut butter. Yep, you are getting fat by simply reading this review. Whatevs. Its so worth the 5,989 calories. Every bite.

An interesting twist on the typical fast food venues (e.g. McDonalds), the quality of the burgers is much higher, although I would recommend a double patty as the single is quite small. The quality of the fries is also generally good (though not amazing). However, the milkshakes are a big disappointment, if you are used to big thick real-ice-cream Oreo milkshakes, these will not stack up in comparison. This particular venue has much smaller queues than those found in its sister venues in Downtown Manhattan. Overall, for the price, venue, and quality I would definitely recommend a visit!

Pat LaFrieda No More, at least not in Miami. If youre used to the delicious Burgers found across NYC you will sadly be disappointed. After months of trying to replicate Pat LaFriedas burger blend which the Shake Shacks in NYC use along with most other burger joints. Their unsuccessful attempts have yielded a subpar, dry, greasy and slightly salty burger. Amazing service though, gave us an immediate refund and shared in our Pat LaFrieda grief. The shakes on the other hand were awesome, the NYC locations do so much volume that the shakes tend to be thinner, mine was deliciously thick.

This place was on my list of places I had to try while on vacation. I saw pictures of the one opening in Coral Gables and the good looked awesome. But I ended up going to the one on Sobe. The burgers are delicious, my mom said the veggie burger was delicious, the fries were pretty basic and the shakes were nice and thick. The line was long so be prepared to jockey to find somewhere to sit. The decor is cool. My only compliant..the food is so small for the price. My shake looked like they put it in kids cup. Other than that if your a burger fiend you have to try it.

The burgers are so great, I wont have enough words to describe them. If you are hungry though order a double since they are on the small size. But the flavor makes up for that, they are absolutely amazing. I ordered two shake Burgers, so basically two cheeseburgers, they are as tasty as it gets. I got a large soda as well, they offer free refills. And even though it was packed when I arrived, the tables clear fast enough for me to get a seat a table, staff was amazing, they even cleaned my table after I was done. I will definitely come back here.
