Lokal is a wonderful restaurant in the Coconut Grove area of Miami that serves some of the best local beer Florida has to offer. You can find things here from Cigar City, Wynwood, and even Funky Buddha. After being advised to come here by a local friend, I made my way and was surprised to find not only a cool atmosphere and extremely friendly service, but also great food at a reasonable price. You will find things from a fresh take on burgers burgers, to fish, to even gator. The cool thing is that they try to keep things as local as possible (hence the name). Thats why you will find extremely local beers and food that is sourced from Florida. I love how they dont settle to cater to the masses and try to sell cheap beer. They stick to their morals of only serving the best, and this is why Lokal is my dining destination of choice. The atmosphere here is great without being too pretentious. They went with a hip and modern graffiti vibe with a combination of picnic tables and cool artwork on the walls. They managed to pull off the decor perfectly without seeming like they were trying too hard. On top of that, the music selection is great. The bartenders are great and Matt (the owner) is a great guy that will give recommendations on what you should be drinking. On top of that, they are having beer events and tap takeovers on a regular basis, so this place is something that should be checked out. To top it all off, this is one of the dog friendliest places I have ever seen. They even have a separate section on the menu for dog food that is made on sight. They offer free homemade doggy biscuits outside, and when I came with my dog, they brought out a fresh bowl of water for him. I guess they realized that just by catering to my pet they have me as a customer.

Lokal has been my burger spot for a long time. I eat mostly vegan but crave red meat every 2-3 weeks, and almost always satisfy it at Lokal. Their burgers are grass fed and taste absolutely delicious. Some of the best burgers Ive had are loaded with delicious stuff, but what makes Lokals burgers my favorite is simply the flavor of the meat. Apparently they grow some of their greens in a rooftop garden, which makes me happy.They also boast many local and craft beers if youre into that. Personally I go for the relatively simple Funky Buddha Floridian. When I used to eat dairy, I would never skip on the fantastic Key Lime Pie; I strongly recommend it if you have room for dessert! Finally Id say that Lokal is very consistent and I rarely ever have issues with our food. The only problem is that its sometimes a long wait to be seated. Try to sneak a seat at the bar if you find yourself in a long line - you can eat there as well! PS: They are dog friendly and have treats, water bowls, and even a dog menu.

ive probably eaten 40 fidy/fidy burgers, encouraged friends to go and try it, and I have made it a spot I take my out-of-town visitors to. So, it pains me to say that I will not be back again. I always order my burger Medium, The last 3 times Ive gotten a burger that is well done. When this burger comes out medium, its the best damn burger youve had in your life.When this burger is WELL done, it loses all the joy and turns into a dry, dense, hockey puck. I live in North Miami now, so the trip to get this burger is about 2 hours round trip. It really sucks that the last 3 burgers have been fed to my dog. Was hoping the terrible cooking was just a fluke, but 3 different times, sorry but that just demonstrates that the kitchen doesnt care about what they putting out.

Where has this place been all our lives? Cant beat the unique and fresh spin on their quality dishes and the generous portion sizes. Youll have a tough enough time making a decision on what to pick to eat! If youre not feeling a burger, youve got a ton of other delicious options, like the Mama Bears Chicken and Waffles, which I would definitely recommend. Fresh juicy chicken with soft, melt-in-your-mouth waffles create the perfect combo of sweet and savory. Got a vegetarian, kid, or dog in your party? They gladly accommodate them all and provide cordial service as well. Just wish the location was bigger but it is a place Ill visit time and time again.

This is recommended by my coworker down in Miami as a great burger/lunch spot. I have to admit it is a bit further from the popular Coconut Grove mall and I was a bit afraid it started to look sketchy. But I was so relieved when I arrived at the burger spot because it is a gem! I got the Miami Heat Burger and it is absolutely delicious! It is not overly spicy but it has the right amount of kick and the burger is cooked just right. I was worried that I would have a heartburn from the grease sitting on a plane 2 hours later but miraculously I survived! I need to come back here to try their Grouper Fish sandwich next time I am around.

Excellent service, food and location. If you are looking to get something good to eat and then maybe hang out for a little this is a great start! They are centrally located in the heart of the Coconut Grove strip with plenty of things to do from shopping to bar hopping the burgers are awesome and well proportioned meaning you will not be getting a huge tasteless teen age mutant ninja burger instead you get a quality burger in a portion where you will have no leftovers but will be completely satisfied when done, I didnt give them 5 stars because indoor seating was very tight due to their limited space, Cheers !

Holy guacamole Batman! These burgers are ahhhhhhmazing! Such a great place to grab a burger and a beer if youre in the area. You should really try the "My Childhood dream" burger if you havent. What is it? A burger...with donuts for buns...and an egg. WHAT?! Yea, youll go into cardio arrest, but youll die with a smile. Seriously delicious. Not into that? For fans of the cheeseburger and Tarantino, Im sure youll enjoy the "royale with cheese". Theyve got a great selection of different burgers and a variety of local beers for those who like beer. Go and have a great time!

Really loved our dinner here! Excellent menu selection, so many tasty things to try here, I will have to come back several times to get to sample all that sounds good. Service was nice, very friendly and helpful and our food came out quickly and was made perfectly. I loved my veggie burger, onion rings and salad, my son enjoyed his kids meal and my husband loved his steak fries as well as the burger. Prices and portions are fair, food is great quality, all around good dinner here, worth returning!

First review ever. I had towrite a because it is so crazy. First, i orderd a burger, medium well, however it was rare. Rare enough to catch the attention of the waitress. She took it back to cook up the same meat. Unfortunately it was still raw so the manager noticed. They offered a second trip to the cook. I declined. They offerd to comp fish dip. During this ordeal i was accosted by a homeless man. Finally, i left paying for the food and feeling like i ate lsd.
