Well, I cannot speak for this location but the one on Biscayne Blvd SUCKS! Horrible service! This place has declined to the service youd expect Dennys as it specifically relates to Management (the tall gentleman that works there). I had the pleasure of being served by our very nice waitress LuLu; however, I made a brunch reservation for 11am on Sunday, days in advance...only to get a VM from the Manager that morning at 9:45am rudely informing me that they were too busy, cancelling my reservation and I would be treated as a walk in. I realized the message was left later that day. What is the point in making a reservation if it is not honored. I get the to restaurant just before 11am and give them my name and reservation details (mind you, I was told I was being "checked in" and my table would be ready - had not heard the VM message at this time). Breakfast was okay, as soon as I paid the check for me & my client the Manager rudely tells me we have to hurry up and leave cause he needs the table. Seriously? I spend my money, barley spend an hour at the table and seconds after I pay you rudely rush me out the door??!!!! To make matters worse, later that day I get an email that my "reservation on OpenTable" was cancelled. I called the restaurant and asked how a reservation that I completed, could be cancelled. The lady who answered the phone apologized and agreed to correct the reservation to ensure that I received my 100 point for the booking; however, days later and nothing has been corrected and the piss poor and rather unprofessional service still annoys me. I use to love this place and was an avid supporter when I lived in Miami and ALWAYS made sure I visited every time I came home with friends or by myself. My tabs are not cheap, easily with friends I run over a hundred dollar tab. No worries, I will take my business elsewhere and encourage others to do the same. It would be nice if Managers working were professional, had manners and were not running around like the place was on fire knocking things over and bumping into people.

Went there for my husbands birthday with friends. Waiter took 15 minutes to ask for our drinks. Another 15 to bring just one beer, then another 10 to bring glasses of water. Took our order...Brought out the completely wrong dish for my husband! He ordered rib eye steak, was given baby back ribs.Waiter said "Sorry, but it would be at least 20 minutes before we can correct it." My husband asked to speak to the manager. Waiter goes to search for the manager...comes back 15 minutes later WITHOUT the manager! Then tells us, "We can cook you the rib eye steak." Then, 20 minutes later my husbands gets the steak, not cooked in the way he asked (medium rare). No discount offered ever, just a bunch of "Im sorry, theres nothing we can do." WOW. POOR SERVICE. The only good thing about this place was the outdoor seating, but you can get that at any other South Beach restaurant.

If you are under any sort of time constraints for a meal, pass this place by. That said, my wife and I were looking to kill time before the shops on Lincoln Road opened, and I was hungry, so I decided to stop here for breakfast. The food was fantastic, their french toast with eggs was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The pancakes were of a good size and I was told they tasted good and were very filling, which is always a good thing. The main problem here is the fact that they are not interested in fast service, or even moderately paced service. In good news though, the price is reasonable, but I cant forgive the painfully slow service, even though we were trying to kill time, I wanted to get SOMETHING done that day.

Even for Lincoln Road this place gives you unacceptably small, weak alcoholic drinks for the minimum price of $11/drink. A member in my party said something to the manager and the bar made us new, stronger drinks. The potstickers were good, but again everything was small portions and over priced (which I find to be typical on Lincoln). For having the tip included, the service wasnt that bad. However I was not happy that the server automatically included a donation to the Elton John AIDS Foundation on final tab. If they had asked before tacking it onto my bill, I would have been happy to donate, but I found it to be rude and pretentious to just slap it on the bill.

The food is amazing during brunch. I ordered the french toast and a mimosa. It was a perfect touch after a long night. The french toast had a vanilla taste and the eggs and bacon were delish. I tried my friends chorizo plate which I believe came in a sort of skillet. That too was also delicious. I do wish the service was more attentive and some tables were under the sun, which during brunch can be uncomfortable. For brunch, the mimosas were way over priced. They should consider providing "bottomless" mimosas to allow customers to get more bang for their buck. Again, food is great, service and seating not the best during brunch hour.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went there two nights ago with my girlfriends and was treated horribly. We waited 25 minutes for our drinks, meanwhile, the people sitting next to us who had come ten minutes after we did, had gotten their drinks right away. When we brought this up to the manager, he had the nastiest attitude and told us its better if "we just go." Mind you, our food still hasnt arrived and the place was not even busy! Never have I had a manager handle a situation that way. TERRIBLE customer service. Save yourself the headache.

This was an absolutely delightful place to have brunch. I went for brunch and was completely satisfied by the ambiance, the service, and the FOOD! The food is amazing and you get a very good quantity for the price you pay. The breakfast pancakes and french toast are so divine. Im from Canada, so we always go crazy for IHOP, but after eating pancakes at Balans (especially with the pecan butter OMG) I was really surprised. Too bad they dont have chains elsewhere in many states. If you are in Miami south beach, youve GOT TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT.

Balans used to be a fave upscale spot of mine but, lately, their service is deplorable - entrees showing up halfway through the appetizer, wrong orders, unprofessional behavior from the management who act like theyre 12 and dont seem to think anyone can spot their antics. Also, their lunch service has gone way downhill - sloppy, over/under cooked, or just plain tasteless. Theyre just catering to the tourists now.

At the suggestion of my boyfriend, he and I decided to make our first restaurant visit this trip to Miami Beach to be Balans on Lincoln Rd. The restaurant of the same name found in London is by far a better dining experience, but we were both happy that our choice here in Miami was a pleasant choice. Excellent service, fun and chic atmosphere, with delicious food - definitely recommended.

Went there for dinner last night. The Sea Bass was not good. First of all, it took a long time to get our food after placing our order. The Sea Bass tasted fishy, it appeared to have been boiled in water, then placed in the oven to brown it a little. The inside of the fish was oily and wet. A real disappointment!!!The Bang Bang salad was just ok. Will not be returning.
