I took my mom and my sister their for my sisters birthday to have dinner. The waiters are very friendly, helpful, and are knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance is very nice especially at night when it has dim lighting making it romantic and especially good for dating. The portions are just right! Some menu items however are very generous in portions like the chicken fricassee and risotto so, ask about the dish before you order. Thats actually what I ordered. I actually didnt know I would get a pot though. Im not complaining though, I have to say this is a very nice menu item for those that want to share as I did with my family. I was surprised as I didnt know at the amount I was going to get. It was very well priced for the portion size and the superb quality of the food. Now, onto the food. The food was top quality. The meat quality and the cooking preparation is so good that their steaks cut like butter! It was so good. They have a few dishes that are in the price range of the casual eater but some things can be a little pricy, however, this is only because of the fact that the food is top quality and is NEVER frozen or microwaved. I would turn down any american chain restaurant like Chilis or the Cheesecake Factory with all of there mostly frozen and generic mediocre food for Le Bouchon Du Grove any day!

DO NOT CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY at this restaurant. The food was ok, however, without my wife noticing, I asked the host to help me bringing a surprise cake with candles to celebrate her birthday. Her response was "You wont be disappointed". We had dinner, and after a good 40 minutes nothing happened, I waived at the host to remind her about the surprise cake and she waved back as if everything was according to the plan. 25 mins and still nothing. I wave back at her and she just says something I couldnt possible figure out with music and being at 15 ft away. Still, not wanting to ruin the "surprise" for my wife, I wait for another 10 minutes. After enough time without anything happens, my wife asks for the check. 10 mins later they bring the check. By now I was very upset, we start to leave, suddenly they raise the volume of the music and put some disco music and a waiter bring something that looks like a very little cake (or at least thats what I thought) with a candle. When my wife finally sees the cake, it was actually a little piece of BUTTER to which they have stuck a candle. Really? A piece of butter? My wife was confused and I was extremely upset. Trust me, it was a very awkward and upsetting birthday "celebration".

Want to discover a part of France ? Go to Le bouchon du grove, you should not be disapointed.

I have lived in Miami for the past four years, and I must say this is one of the best restaurants that exist in S. FL. First, the food is fantastic...rich, tasty, delicious...the adjectives are endless. I always order the French soup which is the best French soup I have ever tasted. The fish are always extremely fresh, and the deserts unbelievable. Second, the servers are terrific...great personalities...they laugh, sing, dance...you name it. They also give you complimentary champagne, so you can save a couple of bucks on the alcohol, or chose from one of a ton of great wines. Finally, the ambiance is very fun and energetic, and the prices reasonable for a great restaurant. If you want an authentic French eatery in Miami thats fun, delicious, and wont break the bank, then go here. Also great for dates.

Reservations for 7:30, seated at 8:45… why do they call it a reservation if it is not relevant? Ordered Sea Bass + Beef Bourguignon (beef stew). We waited another hour+ for them to be delivered, well after many of the tables seated after us already were served. When I politely asked the hostess if she could have our server come by the table (he had not been to the table for over 30 minutes), to ask for water and our meal, he arrived and just stood there and asked, what is my problem? Fish was hot and my date said it was good. My beef bourguignon was cold, how can it be cold, it $30 stew? Very poor service, poor food, poor atmosphere… almost like eating in Paris, but at least the food and atmosphere is good there.

Le Bouchon in Coconut Grove, Florida is what would happen if a benevolent giant picked up a popular restaurant in France and plunked it down in The USA. The friendly staff clearly adjusted to the shift and decided to stay. They kept all the French flavor but the portions are way larger than expected – proof of embracing their American residency. They didn’t blink at the idea of a takeout container - at least not to my face, which I appreciate. And now, the writing of this review is accompanied by delicious leftovers. In short, the generous and tasty food is lovingly prepared and served by a warm and highly attentive staff. I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s a perfect bistro in an unlikely place.

Breakfast is a regular weekend outing with my running group. Weve gone to 5 other local restaurants and by far hands down, Le Bouchon has the best omelets. For one, they are made with real eggs, and all real ingredients which you would think would be a given. I asked for a side of tomatoes which came drizzled in extra virgin olive oil with basil. The tomato and goat cheese omelete had me wanting more, and their vegetable omelette is delicious with sauteed green beans. All is served with a side of roasted potatoes and a complementary glass of champagne and orange juice. A must visit for food lovers passing through Coconut Grove.

Please Miami travel to another big city like Chicago, or L.A or New York so you can taste good food. The food scene is abysmal here because places like this are allowed to stay open as long as they have with poor to average quality. Most items seemed store bought with no taste and less imagination. If you claim to be a french bistro please do not serve butter wrapped in foil (its like an Italian restaurant using canned marinara). And whats worse is that the bill was extraordinarily high for what it was. If you have decided on spending over $100 just go ahead and go to DB Bistro splurge and experience fine dining.
