I went for dinner on a Friday night and the place was not at all crazy busy like I expected. The outside dining was very peaceful, with only one other couple there. During the summer Im sure the weather will be too hot for outside dining, but this time of year was really great. I ordered the shrimp pad thai and was very impressed. Ive eaten pad thai at other places and for some reason got very tired of the dish midway through, but this was not the case at Mangetsu. I had plenty for lunch the next day (but I dont eat a lot in one sitting), and I thought it was delicious! My husband is a bit of a picky eater, and I wasnt sure he would find something on this menu. But he ordered the drunken noodle with chicken, which is a little spicy, and he loved it! He has requested that we eat here more often! Our waiter was super helpful as well, as we had never eaten Korean/Thai. We had questions about some of the side items and he was very helpful. The price was pretty reasonable as well, for two meals, 1 soda, and spring rolls, the total (not including the tip) was $33. We will certainly dine here again, probably sooner rather than later!

Amazing family recipes for the bulgogi! They have tables with the grills in them and they brought out so many different condiments! There were several different kimchi, beans, daikon, others, so we had plenty of options with dinner tonight. The atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming to groups. They have an excellent selection of so many things! Their list of sake was extensive so there were decisions that had to be made about what to drink. In addition to traditional Korean food there is a selection of Japanese, Thai and sushi. The sushi list was really long and there was seating right along the sushi bar. Desert was also great! We had the Thai donuts with a light frosting and the tempura cheese cake. We wish we had room for more food but we were so stuffed by the end of dinner. We had a really great time and we will sure be back again! This is a definite recommend for anyone wanting Asian cuisine and great for Korean BBQ.

Came in from out of town, after living in Korea for over 5 years and reading these reviews, i guess my expectations were too high. With a party of 4, we ordered off of the Korean BBQ menu. Fully expecting to cook my own food, it was to our disappointment after 45 minutes of waiting for 3 main dishes were precooked and served. The typical Korean additional dishes were small and never refilled, the leaf for the beef was skimped on and when refilled after 10 minutes after asking for more. The samgyupsal was missing the oil salt pepper dish, the green onion salad, and ssamjang. Bulgogi was plain. Spicy chicken was the best dish. totally feeling ripped off compared to how these reviewers were treated.

Good food, good service. I had the bul go gi beef and it came with lettuce for wraps. My children loved the lo mein and my husband enjoyed the drunken noodle. They have an extensive menu whether its Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai or whatever Asian craving youre having...Sushi!. Grills on the table allow you to cook Yakiniku style but it is an option. They can cook it for you in the kitchen if you prefer. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We were a party of 10 with a bunch of kids and they were very accommodating... Two thumbs up!

As a whole I cant complain. I had the chicken pad thai, tuna titaki, and thai tea. All was very good. My husband had the Mongolian BBQ and some sushi. His only complaint was some of the pieces of sushi came apart which he doesnt like. My only issue is that I like to be able to put my own food in my box and when I asked for a box the waitress took my plate and boxed my food away from the table. Staff was friendly, attentive, and the service was fast. Food was delicious. We will be back!

I lived in South Korea for seven years. Mangetsu is very authentic (other than the fact that you have to pay extra for more side dishes). They use high quality fresh meats and it shows when they prepare at the table for you. The staff is very friendly and bilingual. There are also menu options for typical American and Japanese food options including sushi. If you are looking to broaden your foodie horizons then this is the place to do it!

Amazing restaurant!! The food is outstanding every time, with a wide variety of Korean and Thai food. The bulgogi in particular is very delicious, and not to mention the tasty bibimbap! Nice selection of sushi to choose from as well. The staff is always very nice and attentive. I will always go to Mangetsu when I want a yummy meal at an affordable price! P.S. See if they give you their recipe for the ginger dressing. Its to die for!!

Nice place. The food was great. I discovered that in all the Korean restaurants Ive eaten, that I have been getting an abbreviated version of Bulgogi, just the meat and rice. At Mangetsu I got a Bulgogi meal with all the trimmings. The place is nice on the inside. It has kind of a sports bar feel. The staff was quite nice. One negative, the booths were kind of small and cramped.

Amazing Korean food! I really wanted to try this place bc of its reviews and it lives up to them. The food is great and if youre vegetarian or vegan like me they will help you find something delicious!!!! The owner is so kind and friendly. Its adorable inside. They also have amazing sushi and great curry. They are also very accommodating to children. Thank you. Amazing service.

After seeing the very high reviews for this place, I was really expecting this restaurant to be amazing. Sadly, I was very disappointed. Maybe I just visited the place at a bad time? My order did not taste good (and its an order that I usually order whenever I go to other sushi bars/restaurants). The service was really good though and the atmosphere was really cozy.

First time there and the food was great! Our server was very attentive and his suggestions were on point. They have a large variety of food, (Japanese, Korean and Thai) and the flavors were authentic. For the amount of food we consumed, the bill was very reasonable (not expensive at all). I definitely recommend this place.

Sushi is beautifully crafted but - takes too long. Food is pretty good but not the best . We do go there as repeat customers mostly for the sushi since there is a lack of sushi in Melbourne . I think so many people have given five stars because they havent had these dishes at a better place ...
