My girlfriend and I are big into authentic Mediterranean dishes but have been having trouble finding a great place to eat. We found are special little cafe at Taste of Sahara Mediterranean Food and Deli. The have 3 comfortable booths and take your dish made to order. The owner and her mother where a great addition as they where quick to help out and find the best meal for you. I had a Hummus Gyro that was spot on with the sauce and beef to lamb ratio. My girlfriend had the Feta Gyro wrapped with onion inside. Both was great with our choice of canned or bottled natural sugar soda. Not fountain drinks but the drinks available where a reasonable price. Over all I paid $17.50 for the two gyros and the drinks, which is a fair enough price for such an authentic dish.

Came in here the other day with my boyfriend due to my love for Mediterranean food. We came in here thinking it would be like every other food place you go into, but it wasnt at all what we expected or the same type of experience. The gentleman who owns it was so informative and helpful. He had us try a number of things to get the full experience. His wife makes the food daily from meat for gyros, to chicken kabobs, rice, grape leaves, stuffed zucchini, and a number of other foods. The food was very good, and had many flavors to it. If you want to go somewhere where you get an actual experience and amazing customer service then this would be the place to go. It is newly opened and also has a little mart attached to it. Definitely will be back!

After living in the Middle East for many years, we were craving some Arabic food - and Sahara was just what we needed! We had the chicken kabob, kofta, tabouleh, Greek salad, kibbeh and baba ghanoush...and werent disappointed with anything. Everything tasted authentic and fresh. The owner was lovely, and even gave us a spice wed been looking for out of her own kitchen, since she didnt have any for sale. Thanks - and well be back :)

Finally, homemade Mediterranean food at good prices! Just now ate there for the first time and was truly happy when I drove away with an amazing taste in my mouth. Sue uses fresh ingredients and wonderful spices. I had the hummus and chicken pita wrap and a side of baba ganoush and was very satisfied. Largo Florida is NOT known for good restaurants so I am thrilled this small, family owned restaurant opened. Highly recommended.

I was told by a friend this place has the best falafel in town. They werent lying and Id go so far to say the best hummus too! Plus the owner is amazingly friendly and helpful. Perfect for a vegetarian or vegan as we dont have many options in Largo!

Sue provides great service, makes excellent recommendations, and provides many delicious samples to help ensure you have the best meal possible. There is a small dining area but we had her package ours up for takeaway.
