Extremely disappointed. Rudest restaurant experience with the owner in my 64 years. My wife ordered the 6 oz filet and got it with shrimp on it. That was the special that night. But not what she ordered as she is allergic to shrimp. She even told that to the waiter when everyone else was ordering the shrimp cocktail. When the food came to the table she brought it to the waiters attention who gracefully took it away and apologized. A minute later the owner himself came out in a huff and insisted that we had to pay for it as we didnt tell him that she was allergic to shrimp, yet she didnt even order the special with shrimp. Only the 6 oz filet. The owner was very rude and insisted that we cover his costs by paying for at least 1/2 the price of the dinner before he would cook her what she ordered. He even said he had insurance should my wife had an alergic reaction and died from the shrimp. I took exception to his rudeness and then he took away my food away and told me he was going to call the police. My wife and I Were left without meals while our 3 friends that we brought to Norbys for the first time were mortified. Something serious has gone wrong with Norbys and its owner. Later the doggy bag that we were given by our friends also was not edible when we got home. The filet definitely was not a filet and seemed more like a piece of tough sirloin that we threw in the garbage. Sad story, but true! No more Norbys for us. We should have gone to Mannys like our friends suggested!

Ok so i feal bad now i have been here twice now the first time here best steak ever at a restaurant told everyone i new that it was and raved about it but this time i dont know what happened i would compare my ny strip special to a breakfast ny strip at waffle house no seasoning no flavour just horrible feal ripped of to pay 20 dollars for this plus they said it was 14 oz no way this is a 10 oz steak man i wouldnt even care if it was the same taste as the first visit service was fine waitress noticed as soon as i cut into my medium rare steak that it was over cooked and said she would take it back got it back still a little over cooked but what ever honestly i will give this place one more shot for the fact that the first visit was amazing as far as quality of food i hope that this was just a fluke please someone else rate after me honestly so i know whether i just came on a bad night or something

After reading so many positive reviews we were really looking forward to trying this place, but were greatly disappointed, as there was nothing fresh or classy about our meal despite the $20+ per meal prices. Staff were very nice and atmosphere was cozy. Shrimp cocktail was acceptable, though small for $1/piece. Salads were shredded iceberg with a slice of tomato, white onion and pitted black olives. Baked potatoes were swamped with butter. Collards, beans and corn sides from a can. Prime rib was only about 1/2" thick, looked like a grocery store steak. Kids grilled shrimp meal plate was cluttered with a jello snack cup, an applesauce cup (with HFCS) and Teddy Grahams. Despite being in the screen room, we left with multiple mosquito bites. We go to nicer restaurants to eat real food that is properly cooked, not the processed junk. This was insulting.

I went there for a relatives birthday, boy was that a mistake, took 2 hours to get the food. Waitress was horrible, I had to ask another waitress to get our drinks. I went outside to get a coat. It was cold in there. All the waitresses were outside smoking. The owner asked how our meal was. We told him that we enjoyed the food. But the service is not the best. He shrugged it off. Like OK. Didnt say. Well let me get that fixed so no one else has the same problem. I asked another patron about his meal. Said that they messed order up. And he wasnt happy with going here as well. Food is good. But FYI, the service is the worst. Be advised. As you look on here you see its hit or miss. Its how a company deals with problems that makes them a quality institution. I wont be going back 3 times and Im done. 400 dollars down the drain.

Norbys Steak & Seafood is central Floridas best kept secret. In the past ten years Ive lived in New York, Australia, South Korea, and now Japan, but when visiting my parents in central Florida I always go out of my way to go there. The 9oz marinated sirloin steak is to die for. Its all I ever get. When Ive gone with friends who dont want steak, Ive tried their food, and it tastes great too--but the 9oz marinated sirloin is why I go. It should be noted that, honestly, the cut of meat isnt anything extraordinary. However, the marinade makes this. It will be a flavor you arent expecting, in a good way. The rest of the meal is also on point for the price. I cant recommend Norbys enough. Im coming home to Florida this winter, and Im looking forward to eating at Norbys almost as much as seeing my friends and family.

From the outside this little gem doesnt look like much, it is definitely a diamond in the rough. The food however, more than makes up for the lack of polish. I ordered their signature meal, a 1# ribeye steak and lobster tail. My wife had the lobster tail and shrimp. My steak was done perfectly and our lobster tails were the most tender we had ever eaten ANYWHERE (including Maine)! My one let down were the mushrooms I ordered on my steak, they were NOT fresh but canned mushrooms. Everything else was excellent. Be sure to get there early, this place fills up fast. The next time I am in Florida I will be back for more of their great food.

Absolutely horrible! We arrived at 7:30 pm. And took 1 1/2 hours to receive our food..NO ONE IN RESTAURANT..... Seen our waitress 3 times ... Ran out of our drinks. And they were SLOW... only 4 tables had customers. Certainly shouldnt have had BAD service and bad food. My 6oz steak was suppose to be medium and it was cold. My sons steak was suppose to be well done and his was rare.. I will NEVER return especially after dealing with the rude man which is suppose to be the owner... Such a shame 3 years ago was a good place. Now its not. I will NEVER return or my family and friends! Horrible !

Definitely unimpressed. I ordered the filet mignon "medium well". When my food was brought to the table blood was already seeping out. When I finally cut into the meat it was rare. The outside was dark but none of the inside had even a hint of brown. I asked that it be cooked longer. A few minutes later it was returned to the table....microwaved and ruined. It was obviously microwaved as it was rubbery, the same color throughout, and the dead give away-the plate was hot. I will NEVER set foot in there again. For $20 I ate green beans, 3 shrimp, and a flavorless baked potato.

You dont need a jacket, the chairs outside are flimsy plastic, and the building itself looks like it used to be a dog fighting pit. If you are the type of person that needs the atmosphere of a high dollar restaurant, this place is not for you. If you are the kind of person that loves damn good beef and could care less where you have to get it, I highly recommend it. I grew up on a beef cattle farm and am a ribeye snob. Ive eaten kobe beef in Japan and I would have to say that over my 50 years, with that one exception, this is the best steak I have ever eaten.
