Suggestions: Whatever the weekly special is! Price: $11 lunch; $17-$19 dinner Pros: All their ingredients taste incredibly fresh, their crust is perfect for brick oven pizza, they have a rewards program, and they have a daily lunch special Cons: A little on the expensive side overall, no table service if that kind of thing bothers you Thoughts: I am a HUGE fan of pizza, but most of the good pizza in Jacksonville is either hand tossed or deep dish. Don’t get me wrong, I love both of those but I like variety so I was incredibly excited to find V pizza. V’s is a traditional brick oven pizza joint in the Italian style. Most of their ingredients are shipped in directly from Italy, as are the bricks they use to build their ovens. Ultimately this results in absolutely delicious pizza; the crust crust is absolutely perfect, its not so soft that it still tastes like dough and you can’t pick it up in one hand, but its also not so crunchy that it tastes like you are eating a cracker. It comes out with firm, yet soft center that gets slightly crunchy as it moves towards the outer edge with just a few blackened spots on the exposed edges. Man it is good. The downside to all these awesome, authentic ingredients is the price point. At dinner the pizza’s are around $16-18 per pie and I can eat one on my own. I do think it is worth this price from an ingredient standpoint, I just honestly don’t know if I’m willing to pay it. HOWEVER, this is where lunch becomes my savior! During the work week, at lunch time (I think its 11-2) they have a lunch special where any pizza is $10 and any specialty pizza is $11, in addition they have a have a rewards program that gives you a free pizza after 10 “check ins”. Overall I think that this is one of my favorite pizza place, just not for dinner as its a little expensive but this place is AMAZING for lunch, definitely up there with my other favorite pizza place.

Out of the 4 years Ive been reviewing Jacksonville restaurants guys Ive learned something, restaurant may have the most exquisite dish in the world and I may never step foot in due to a poor experience. Its true what they say is when someone has a good experience, they are 60% less likely to write a review versus someone that had a less than perfect experience. I want to curve that trend by sharing mine. My first time eating at this restaurant today for lunch, and its safe to say this restaurant has a good reputation because it was packed from wall to wall! After I ordered what looked to be (as a meat-lover) the best specialty, Pizza Carnivora, I had a seat. As it was lunch hour I was not expecting to be greeted as fast as I did by my server Melissa. She assured me the expectation that my pizza would be out within minutes which with as many people that were that, roughly translates to an hour right? No. She came around 7 minutes later, pizza in hand way exceeding my expectation. I took a note to ask first of all HOW; but she beat me to the punch: mentioned the wood fire ovens V Pizza uses were imported from Italy and the oven that made my pizza was appropriately named "Amore". cute touch, V! As far as my newly cooked Carnivora? I try to refrain from using the word "perfect" but I was not expecting that level of craft, while $10 for a pizza had me skeptical at first, the sausage and sopresatta was worth every dime. I was there for around 30 minutes and she was very attentive not only to me, but a good majority of the patrons. That level of attention deserves huge kudos. I along with many fellow reviewers will definitely be back, and hopefully they get to share the same experience I had today, Thanks V for the outstanding first but certainly not last lunch and thank you Melissa for such a remarkable experience!

We have been going to V Pizza about once a week for the past year. Its the only restaurant in Jacksonville that serves high quality authentic Italian food. I am less than thrilled with Jacksonvilles horrible choices when it comes to healthy restaurant options for families. Every visit has been wonderful. The staff is always efficient and friendly, the pizza is always delicious. The salads are fresh and the desserts are wonderful. The first time we ate at V I was concerned that the restaurant wouldnt survive the horrible Jacksonville restaurant culture which persists because people here have no appreciation for high quality food. Im glad V Pizza has been able to weather the storm of not so great reviews (some of which honestly have to be fake/from competitors). Those reviews that state long wait times HAVE to be false as we have never waited more than 10-15 minutes for a pizza. I suppose people expect pizza that is made from previously frozen dough that holds its shape like a piece of cardboard with canned sauce and greasy processed cheese on top. The pizza tastes fresh... just like it was made from seriously fresh ingredients. Jacksonville adults that hide behind their social media profiles obviously have no appreciation for what it means to provide fresh authentic Italian pizza that may be best eaten with a knife and fork. One pizza has always been the perfect size for myself, my husband, 4 year old daughter, and 9 month old son to share. Those that complain the pizzas are not large enough may not have realistic portion expectations. Those that complain of "burnt" crust must not be able to see the real fire in the pizza ovens that cook the pizzas perfectly in less than 10 minutes. We love what V Pizza has brought to Jacksonville. See ya next Wednesday for pizza night! Thanks! :)

The food is simply amazing. The atmosphere is light and friendly. The ingredients are so fresh you can taste the difference. This is high class good prepared with lots of care. The staff is friendly, helpful, and hard working. I tried the stromboli, it was awesome. The flavors from the real wood fired ovens are perfect. I had the calzone. Its perfectly prepared, the crust is light, crispy, and has great flavor. I tried the wood fired wings. You serially dont want to miss out on these. Unlike anything you get anywhere else. The caramelized onions that come with them are sweet and delicious. The macaroni. Oh my the macaroni. Wow. Youre going to redefine what you call the best macaroni when you try this. So chest and flavorful. This isnt just cheese sauce on noodles. This is home made goodness that is to die for. I tried the calzone. It is just over flowing with flavor. Their dough makes the perfect crust cooked to perfection in the wood fired ovens. This is amazing food. The marinara sauce is fresh, light, and tastes amazing. Its not the watered down or over flavored junk you get at regular pizza places. It is delicious you can actually taste the fresh tomato in it. Our part of nine had an amazing visit. The food is just unbelievably good. This place is an absolute gem for all of Jacksonville. We are lucky to have establishments like this. We will be back. We are customers for life. Thank you V pizza for an awesome experience. See you guys again soon.

This is the first time Ive ever taken the time to write one of these that should sum it up. But instead Id like everyone in this area to know how bad the customer service is at this establishment. I ordered $53 of food to pick up two weeks ago and the food was so burnt it was not edible. I ordered a calzone a pizza and a side of meatballs and all of it was BLACK! I was furious to have wasted time and money trying this place out. I called immediately and spoke to a manager named Matt and was told that if I was willing to give it another chance my next meal would be free. Well I just called and was told Matt was too busy to talk so I conveyed to the employee the situation with my previous order and what I was told by her manager and was then asked to hold while she spoke to him about it. Well she never put me on hold and I could hear her telling him about it she got back on the phone and said"Im sorry but Matts not here after all so we cant credit you that". I didnt want the $53 credit in food. I was just willing to(against my better judgement) give V another chance. I would never give these fakes another dime of my money. Sorry guys you wont be in San Marco long running a business like that. Should have known food from anyone dumb enough to brag about their food taking 90 seconds to cook had to suck!
