Horrible. 1) The Carnitas burrito tasted like someone shredded some pork and then decided to boil it in water and rinse off any flavoring or seasoning that may have been on it, then mixed it with flavorless refried beans, and wrapped up in a burrito. My husband, who is not particularly choosy especially when it comes to Mexican food, had to get up and go to the bathroom and spit out his bite because it made him nauseated. 2) It took around 20 minutes to get a glass of water brought to our table. Another five or so to get chips. 3) I asked for a side of sour cream, and was brought a side of ranch dressing. It took another five minutes or so before I decided to just get up and ask a different waitress for sour cream. I was still charged for it, of course. 4) This may just be a regional style, however I have eaten a lot of authentic Mexican food (grew us in a smaller version of Little Mexico in the Midwest, and have very close friends of the family from Mexico) and have yet to experience cloves, as a heavy seasoning, in my beef brisket. Until tonight. Did not care for this. 5) Last, but not least, ended the night with us both clearly not eating our food with plates pushed away and then after a while was finally asked if we wanted the check. Was told itd be right out; after 7 minutes I decided we would just stand up and then maybe that would get out waitresses attention to bring us the check. That worked, at least.

Honestly, I have never once left a review about a restaurant but this place has finally struck a nerve. The service is ATROCIOUS. Which is really unfortunate considering that the food is actually pretty good. However, it never fails that the people who work here ruin any meal you wish to have. Even if its take out! The website says the restaurant closes at 11pm, when we called to order for pickup at 10pm the phone was answered by a horrid woman who stated "we are closed, ok? Bye." Excuse me? I then tried to call back to ask about the times and had the phone repeatedly hung up on me. Finally someone else picked up and when I stated I thought they closed at 11, this woman was just as rude as the first stating "we close at 10 and for the last year we have closed at 10. We are closed." I simply hung up because I didnt expect anything more from the class of people I have dealt with there numerous times before. I love casita Tejas way more than this place and the service is amazing there. So I would suggest taking your business to that restaurant instead of this one. Unless you enjoy being treated like dirt everytime youre trying to enjoy a meal. Good riddance.

Gracias!

Worst service I have ever received! At first it started good everything was normal nice place. We ordered the tostitos mexicanos, the queso fundido & the guacamole with chips. They started good as I said but as soon as the appetizers came out it all went downhill. The appetizers had no flavor & the meat on the tostitos was completely over cooked and dry, from my experience working in the restaraunt business I could tell the meat was meat that left over from unused platters. Whatever I didnt even pay to much attention. We asked our waitress to give us 5 min to order our meals, after 40 min without seeing our waitress we flagged down another waitress to take our order. I completely downsized my order because I was just ready to get the hell out of there. I asked for 2 steak tacos & for them not to be over cooked. After anither 20 min. The tacos came first thing I saw was that the tacos were completely overcooked, dried/ burnt. I heard from people this place was good, but from what I saw today this place is far below good. If you enjoy burnt unflavorful food just disregard this warning.

My husband and I were passing through the area on our vacation looking for some authentic Mexican food and this place hit the spot! The chips were fresh and made in house and they had a great salsa bar with a variety of flavorful salsas. We ordered the flautas and the "mexicanas" (similar to your typical quesadilla but with pork and pineapple inside) and everything was DELICIOUS! My only negative comment was that it did take quite a while for someone to attend to us at first but the restaurant was completely full. When the waitress did finally get to us she was attentive and polite. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely eat here again!

We were in town for a couple of days, drove by and it looked nice so we stopped. Service was great & the food even better. The different salsas are at a self service bar with appropriate taste ratings, which you should believe. Try the Tripe Soup; it is very good. I had the Chile Relleno for a main course and my wife had a steak dish; both were perfect and more than we could eat. The waitress recommended the Corn Tortillas because they were more healthy and made in the kitchen, she neglected to say that they were very tasty. Do yourself a favor and give them a try!

The alambre my son had was great and so was my burrito with carne asada, but the chips were not and refills of iced tea cost $2.25...??? Doesnt tea cost pennies a gallon? Also, the sauces are only hot and super hot...nothing mild other than pico de gallo, which was good nevertheless. Two lunch meals with tea totaled $27, so it was more than I prefer to spend for lunch. I also noticed the slower-than-expected service that others have commented about here. Ill probably return, but will also continue looking for a favorite Mexican restaurant in the area.
