My husband and i visited chicken king Sunday, July 16, 2017 after church, with some friends of ours, and i ordered the fish with fries and greens. The greens are usually good,but they didnt have any seasoning in them and i didnt receive my hush puppies. The fries were terrible!! Almost two weeks prior to that, we were there and ordered the wing dings, which are our favorite, and after waiting 30 minutes, the wings werent fried all the way. I understand it was very busy that day, but you should make sure the food is cooked correctly. I miss the prior owners. I honestly dont want to go back.

Love the food!! The staff are amazing. Prices are very decent. You never leave hungry. Daily specials. Good soup. Breakfast all day. Great quality. Tastes like home. Wide variety to choose from. Very popular spot. Often crowded during the weekends. Friday is their fried chicken night. Latest night they are open. Owner is very friendly. Small little place but definitely worth dining here! One of my favorite restaurants! Decorated with rooosters/hens all throughout. Very country feeling.

having chicken king back in town is nice - but the prices have gone up, the portions on certain items seem to have gotten smaller, some of the ingredients have changed, and they STILL dont take any form of credit/debit cards. sure, it beats the other joints in hernando..... but i DO miss the old chicken king. btw, i think "dave" is a schmuck for adding his name to the business. oh yeah, and their phone number is now 341-5465

Smaller portions, new staff (rude, slow and incompetent), lost the homey atmosphere and most of all - terrible cooking. Gave them 3 trys for dinner after they re-opened from the fire, never going back. Use to eat there at least once a week but no more. It is a real shame, they use to be one of my favorites. Everyone I talk to in the area pretty much has the same opinion.

Its a small town Restaurant with some the best fried chicken and fish i have ever had. They have a great Breakfast and there staff are friendly. It is a small place so you may have to wait a little bit , but well worth it as there is a lot of customers in the mourning and lunch. I do enjoy this place. And now they have fish night on Fridays. Happy Happy

Nancy has taken Chicken King back since she has come back things have gotten better. We have been customers for about 34 years and yes some portions have become smaller and a few prices have gone up but so has the economy. It is still a nice small town diner and the food is still pretty good since she has taken it back.

Through all the tough times and owner changes its finally just what it used to be... AWESOME southern cookin & service at its finest. I recommend the biscuits&gravy with over medium eggs on top for breakfast and the fried chicken livers for lunch. Or you can never go wrong with the AYCE specials 8)

Not a good dining experience. Had to wait about 30 minutes for our food, only to find the chicken breast tasted greasy and the mashed potatoes like wallpaper paste. At least the coleslaw was good. All I know is that its nowhere as good as the original chicken king,and probably wont go back again

New owners , Art green and his wife linda have bought the chickenking rest. Has changed a lot, and the food is excellent, place is full most of the time.they are open 7days wk from 6 to 3 but are thinking of being open on friday and sat night.

Great food good portions at a great price. I had hot wings that were huge,juicy and great . My wife had the fried chicken witch was juicy and delicious as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great little place!
