Unbelievable! Just driving through Groveland after a fruitless out of town trip to purchase a new/used hunting truck. Louis and I were looking for a non franchise restaurant."A good one" we asked Google. We hoped we would have more luck than we did finding a good truck. We hit the jackpot. Even odometer was happy.123456 miles were on the dash . We saw beautiful plates of prime rib and huge pork chops that guests raved over. We went for the mixed game platter. Amazing Elk chop grilled rare and season to perfection. Lamb sausage housemade. Fried Alligator and Quail. Orange sausage. All fantastic. The salad was equally well prepared and very fresh. They had awesome garlic smashed potatoes and sautéed zucchini with a little spinach. Great desserts also. Louie had Apple Cobbler a lamode I had the Cinnamon Bread Pudding, both warm and perfect flavor and texture. You can add ice cream with the bread pudding. We were laughing about how we cant find a good truck but we are winners at restaurant finding. Prices were fairly, food was outstanding and the service was friendly and flawless. Im John Erb, Tampa , Thanks for being great at what you do. Ill be back, its worth the drive. What a great find.

We came here after a few of my wifes coworkers mentioned eating here. It was a little early and the rain was coming down and a severe thunderstorm warning was in effect, so we were the only ones in the restaurant for a while. The server was exceedingly attentive, even with the couple of requests we had. As we were finishing up, more people started to show up. The decor is pretty unique. Gaston would approve of all of the antlers. The fried pickles were awesome and buffalo chicken mac n cheese was great. The meat n potato soup was a bit heavy and bland, though. My wife had the catfish and enjoyed it. We finished off with the apple cobbler. That was delicious, too. Since the rain died down, we went by the animals adjacent to the parking lot. They are all sweet and love the attention.

This is an amazing out-of-the-way, unexpected delight of a country style yet quaint cozy restaurant. Im not sure how they pull it off but the food is very tasty. I had the Elk Chops... a first for me and they were incredibly well prepared. The two beautiful ladies with me had the Red Wing Royal and the Maple Pecan Boneless Pork Chop. All the meats were cooked to order and well presented. It wasnt busy during our visit so the staff was very personable, attentive and engaging. The atmosphere was like joining a family for dinner at their home. If youre just passing through or decide to make it a destination, this is an experience you will enjoy. Ill definitely return. :)

My mother loves frog legs and this is the best place to get them,, When I bring my mom they know what her order is going to be . One day I went and my mom did not order her frog legs and the chef brought her a complimentary order of frog legs , I thought that was so nice , Thank you , she enjoyed every single one. Today May 10, 2 015 I am in Canada and cant be there to take her to lunch so im surprising her on this day .,, I called the good people at Redwing Restaurant and they specially made her frog legs this morning to deliver to her on mothers day. She is going to love it. YAY ! Thank you Redwing.

We love this restaurant. The gourmet food is delicious with a fancy presentation. We recently had a surprise birthday party in their large back room. It was private & away from the main restaurant so we could have speeches and laugh heartily. Youll also love the barnyard of miniature animals. They are friendly and darling. Be sure to bring some carrots & other veggies to feed them. The kids really enjoy the animals. Theres even a lovable llama named Mr Jangles. Get thee to Red Wing quick!! JANICE & BERNIE

A family favorite, The Red Wing Restaurant is the best eatery in the city of Groveland, Florida. The chef never fails to please our taste buds regardless of what we order. Monday thru Thursday they have an early bird special which is a great deal! Also, Thursday is hamburger night and boy oh boy are these traditional classics done up special. Dont let the rural parking lot and vintage décor scare you off; this place is down home cooking that will very soon become your favorite too.

Weve been here for breakfast twice and even though we appreciate that the breakfast menu is short, its still hard to decide. Its all awesome. They have great cheesy grits. The service at this restaurant is absolutely top notch. Theyre very friendly, very personable, but they dont overdo it. This is probably my favorite place to eat breakfast now. Its a great place to take kids too and see and feed all the farm animals.

Weve visited Redwing several times since meeting the team in Leesburg, FL at a fund raiser and sampling some of their dishes. They are down-to-earth and super nice people. Its one of the few places around to get good game - such as Elk, Venison and Quail. The wine list isnt extensive but there are a few goodies on it. Dont judge the book by its cover - it is a diamond in the rough! John & Cindy

Saw the place while driving by looked like a great place. Brought my husband back to have dinner tonight . Asked waitress if we were to seat ourselves and she said no that she would be right with us. We stood there akwardly in the doorway for a while as we were passed by staff. No one came to get us or updated us so we just left. Too bad too because we are great tippers.

Its MUCH better food than you would expect from outside appearances. Turns out they have a large selection of pretty unique, wild fare along with tasty versions of more normal fare like hamburgers. I had the Chipotle Cheddar burger and it was great. Very friendly, small town feel. Soda in the cans, not on tap. No hard liquor.

This place is a hidden treasure! I had the elk chops and they were delicious. They have quite a varied menu. I think a gourmet cook is behind this wonderful food! It was a drive for us but definitely well worth it. We will be back for sure.
