I would bring my dogs as you were very dog friendly and there were not many restaurants that allowed this. You welcomed us with water for the dog and great food and drinks for me. I lead a running group and we began coming to your restaurant after our runs on Saturday and Sunday mornings. There are many options for breakfast but we always thought you guys were the best and so accommodating. Last year in November we brought a homemade cake. We usually get together for breakfast but do something special when it is one of the girl’s birthdays. There were 8 of us. We brought a cake and waited to cut it until after we had eaten. We ordered mimosa’s and coffee as well. The waitress came over and told us that due to the “health department” we were unable to cut our cake and couldn’t bring our own desserts in. I didn’t understand that the health department would have an issue with a homemade cake we were consuming, not distributing, but you can have dogs all over the patio. We didn’t want to make a scene so we paid our bills and left. We then decided that First Watch or Crave would be our new choice for breakfast. We had not all returned together until this past weekend. We ran the downtown Fort Myers half marathon and decided that we would give you guys another try. We waited to be seated which we expected. As we were being seated we overheard a waitress say to a mother and her son that he can’t play with the sugar and that she would bring him toys. The mother explained she was putting them away and that someone else had already said they were bringing the toys. The waitress said, “THESE COST MONEY! HE CAN’T PLAY WITH THEM!” very harshly. I was with 6 women who all heard this and so we discussed how she could have handled it better. The “cake incident” came up and we all said the last time any of us were there was when that happened. We didn’t realize it had been a year to the day. Most of us have worked in the service industry and have been waitresses or hostesses. We understand the importance of your customer’s and keeping them happy while turning tables. The rest of our experience was not so well either. The waitress took our drink orders about 10 minutes after we sat, she delivered them and said she would be back to take our order after she grabbed a drink order. She took the drink order next to us, filled it and came back to take their breakfast order. She cleaned a table next to us and then served the food to the same table all before taking our order. Again, we had mimosas, coffee and water. We all ordered a meal and actually extra sides. This entire experience was disturbing again and I honestly don’t think I will be returning.

UPDATE: So dissatisfied and disappointed! We have eaten here regularly for years and always had quick and friendly service and delicious food . We just had breakfast and are so unhappy ! Its New Years Eve Day so we expected it to be crowded but that doesnt excuse the rude and nasty behavior from "The Hostess"(who we have never seen or had to deal with before, we have always just walked inside and been seated). This woman was rude, condescending and obstructive (after being shown to a booth ,much to her obvious displeasure, she actively blocked my partner from sitting!). Our actual server was lovely and food was served quickly but "The Hostess" deliberately instigated a run in upon leaving that was unnecessary and made it obvious she has some issue with patrons and probably shouldnt be working with the public ! We sadly wont be visiting McGregor Cafe for awhile due to this employee which is a shame! THE spot in Fort Myers for a delcious, homemade breakfast. Easy on the wallet, fast and friendly service.

Came here Saturday for a late breakfast an of course place was packed outside, but we manged to snag a great table outside in no time. Also they wont seat you until your entire party has arrived. Our waitress Joelle greeted us very quickly and was an outstanding waitress from start to finish. She recommended drinks, entrees and even dessert, that we ended up passing on, but had a few mimosa though. Their drinks come served in a huge mason jars, how cool is that, totally cool right? My sons omelet order was a little complicated but Joelle managed to relay it to chefs who prepared it perfectly (thanks) Our meals were delish and came out very quickly, always a plus when you have hungry child and a movie to catch afterwards. On a side note our waitress Joelle was stunning. She had a smile that made you smile insistently. I loved how her eyes matched her shirt, which matched her headband in turn matched her earrings.... Green : ) incase anyone was wondering lol Thanks for everything and will return soon.

Today was the SECOND time that my experience at McGregor Cafe left much to be desired. After my first bad experience, I decided to give it another try, just in case the experience was a fluke. Years ago, I had loved this place for the McGregor atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious food, but it seems that their service and food quality has significantly deteriorated, while their prices have risen. We were served undercooked food and then offered no compensation (a discount? or drink? gratuitous lemonade?) for the twenty minutes I had to wait to while they threw the same piece back on the grill. The "specials" were not listed on any menu, and ended costing several dollars more than their average dish. We were all surprised to see our bill. $21 for a caprese sandwich with undercooked cod (lunch)? Worse than resort prices. The seating hostess was rude. Our entire group left feeling as though we had been ripped off. I will not be going back. (The second star is for the garden atmosphere alone.)

I usually love this place; its one of my favorites. But today I ordered the broccoli and cheese quiche. It tasted weird, sour, and the cheese on top was hard and dry. I politely told the waitress it wasnt to my liking. THEIR POLICY SAYS THEY WONT TAKE IT OFF THE BILL, unless there is something visibly wrong. She offered to box it up and have me take it home for someone else. I didnt want it and told her to just take it back. Why would I pay for a meal that I didnt eat? I took two bites. They wouldnt replace it with another meal either. Im a waitress at a restaurant; I know when people try to scam. But they couldnt use their discretion to see I wasnt? Why is it just an all around "no replace" policy? Thats ridiculous.

Went there a couple weeks ago. We drove by there and I turned around to take my family for breakfast. The setting was very nice. Outside seating with plenty of green and sun umbrellas. Waitress was very friendly, offered the special and made sure that we had everything we need. Food was great, hot and well prepared. My dad had the corned hash, which he said was a little small portion and not as great. Since I did not eat it , I can not tell. Everybody was happy otherwise. It was nice sitting there and I will be back for sure if in Ft. Myers.
