Tom Jenkins, Blue Willys, PA BBQ now Smokes are all the BBQ places in the area. Ive been eating BBQ for many years but really there can only be only one as the best in Ft lauderdale area and today I will name the BEST. First let me predicate this by saying; I love Tom Jenkins the smokey aroma that greats when you come through the door the no frills dining experience. The undenying good BBQ that comes on every plate and yes I love the sides there, too. Blue Willys is something different at best its over seasoned and yes like Texas everything is overwhelmingly large as if it to make it better, but that doesnt really work does it? Pastrami days (Thursday) you have the fight for parking spaces and the weirdo tenant next-door to Willys that will tow your vehicle faster than you could walk in to Willys and say "your car is gone" Its not Willys fault but it does something to the dinning experience, kinda of like eating in a war zone or something very combative like that. for me I get very protective when innocent women start crying ,and they do, all over parking spaces and cars being towed. Besides the Cars the food can be somewhat hit and miss. Ive had good BBQ at Willys but more than not its over seasoned or even a little raw. The sauces too are not something that I totally like... I like vinegar based sauces so I would think I would like them all - just not so. The sweet iced tea is sweet but overwhelmingly so like the sweet came from a liquid which it tastes like.. The sides are very basic and nothing is to the point of being unbelievable.Mac N Cheese and Greens are all super basic. Park Avenue or PA BBQ are more northern they have one in boca and one or two more up north. They are very clean BBQ place that has made the transition of being a bar and sports bar of a place. I dont take it seriously for a BBQ other than they do have racks of ribs either pork or beef and their specials are very very cheap. Kind of like a Flannigans but not something you would consider a BBQ place. Dont get me wrong they have some very good BBQ foods but the atmosphere makes it anything but. I like the spice pickle chips! Lastly the new contender Smoke BBQ which is not on the sign but simply BBQ and it says it all. Inside the interior has been decorated in the steam-pump fashion and it looks great. The new meets the older and the decore of the place is pleasing. They have the deli paper on rolls to make the eating less messy and they had the condiments outside the serving area so you can actually get your own sweet tea (what a great concept!). I tasted the sweet sauce to which I was instantly in love with! One of the cooks came from the back and suggested for me to get the beef ribs for they "just got done smoking". I got a two piece meal with another two pieces for the sides. For the mains I got a beef rib and brisket for sides I got mac n cheese and BBQ beans - oh yes, the cornbread was also included. The sides were heaven . Its been a long long time that macaroni and cheese deserved to written out but as you can see it has been - for it was like the best ever made as if this was somehow a gourmet macaroni and cheese place. The BBQ beans were as smooth as the smokey BBQ and it complemented to other sides and food perfectly. The corn bread was cake like meaning they add flour instead of all cornmeal and they give you a side of butter-cinnamon icing which was very very good .The sweet tea didnt need watering down it was perfect I must of drank a few cups tasking the subtle changes of the warm tea as the ice cubes chill it and bring to life the vibrant undertones. like a wine it flowed easily and was received. If you missed it nothing has been under heavenly but I havent gotten to the meats so I unrolled the beef rib that you could clearly see the burnt remnants of the hand rub and with a simple tug a piece came of the bone as if I didnt know my own strength but truth was that the meat was more than eager to leave it earthly bonds ...If you couldnt tell theres a new King of BBQ and the name is Smokes

I would give five stars but there are some things that need to be rectified first. I am a stickler for cleanness. If I ever come into a restaurant that is not clean, I dont eat there. It was clean enough to eat but the floor needed to be swept and the where the drinks are at needed to be wiped up. The little things need to be looked after as well as the big stuff. The second thing was there was no plates, not even paper plates, to eat off of, and the where you ordered at looked like shoddy like there was no proper planning, it just need everything to look orderly and professional. I ordered the 2 meats platter, which was the pulled pork, and beef bricket. It came with the cornbread with cinnamon butter, the sides I ordered was the baked mac n cheese and root beer baked beans. I will say the meats was tender, juicy, and had faint smoke flavor. The smoke flavor was not as strong as I like but that is me. I will say, that while the meat was good, it was sorta of bland not enough seasoning to me though when you poured the sauces it made up for that. I had the Boylan Bottling Co root beer which was great and I loved it and will have to try and ordered it for myself. I will come back and give it another try since the meat was cooked how I liked it.

Ducked in on a Thursday at around 1P with the 6 Foot Blonde. OMG! We ordered: Smoked Pastrami Sandwich $11.95 "First Come First Served" With Spicy Mustard on Rye or Potato Bread, we had Rye, that is most popular. And was awesome! Wow. Wow. Like butter. The bread is fresh and complimentary to the pastrami. And the pastrami. OMG. Best ever. EVER. SCORE! We also ordered an Austin Sandwich $10.95 I think Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage, Beef Brisket, Onions, Pickles, and Smokes Original BBQ Sauce. OMG! So good. So different than the pastrami, but simply epic. Really. Wow. Spicy and delicious! Awesome texture. We also enjoyed Mac-N-Cheese, and the Sauteed Broccoli app. Both rocked. So did the pickles from the pickle-n-onion bar. So did the beers. Awesome. Get here, try it before season. I predict there will be a line soon. Other things I peeped but didnt try yet, but am super excited to taste: * Beef Rib $15.99 * The storied Cornbread * The exclusive smoked tips or wtf it is called that you can only get Friday after 4p. i cannot wait to go back and work my way through the menu. The later it got, the busier the place got. Good call, Momma Bunk! Cabeza OUT!

This is the 2nd best BBQ I have ever had. I had burnt ends for the 1st time and now Im completely hooked. So damn yummy. The ribs were completely awesome. They had a great smoke flavor without the sauce unlike most BBQ places here in South Florida that dont have nearly enough smoke flavor. This place adds the perfect amount of smoke flavor. Their original BBQ sauce is off the hook incredible. Their house made pastrami is soooo good, I could eat it every day. They jalapeño cheddar sausage was beyond perfect. For sides we had great coleslaw, the most amazing Mac & cheese (as addicting as crack) & jalapeño cilantro potato salad. Oh my god. So freeking good. Fantastic sweet cornbread to finish off the meal. I have no more words other than WOW!!!!!
